    Make it Some sort of shrimp/ community tank! I feel like seeing the shrimp scattered about on the vines would be phenomenal!

    I really enjoy this scape, I can imagine a load of small schooling fish zig zagging around it through the sticks/vines. Very nice :)

    Beautiful tank! Love what you did with the design. My 145 gallon has grown in nicely from when I got it set up a year ago (fully planted amazon style as well), and enjoy working out at home while watching the fish in there. Very relaxing and helps pass the time faster. Hope you & your family are staying safe and healthy!!!

    I really like this one. It gives me some great inspiration for an axolotl tank. I love that Aqua Decor makes bottom mats for a tank, so I could set up something to look like a muddy riverbed and still have the ease of a bare-bottom setup for the axolotls' safety and health!

    • @zafishguy5166
      @zafishguy5166 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      He should not because those small "art" type tanks or anything under 20g should never be used to keep jellyfish moon jellies and upside down jellyfish may be possible for him but only in a suitable kreisel tank for moon jellies or a specialized setup with good lighting for upside down jellyfish

    Love the tank. It looks natural. Maybe some tannins would look good. And I think a school of neon tetras or something similar would look great. A flash of colour against the dimness of the tank. 💕

    Additional twigs down the substrate just like fallen twigs in the river will make it more natural i think.

  • @onlyjecu
    @onlyjecu 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This tank is amazing, it reminds me of the roots and reeds in the river behind my house! Many fish would love this, they feel safe and comfortable in between all those vines and will have a place for breeding.

  • @0nly1wyll

    Nice, when will you break it down and rescape it?

  • @E50AK
    @E50AK 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The tank looks awesome! Absolutely love it! But since the twigs take up some water volume I wouldn't recommend big fish! I'd love to see it as a dwarf cichlid tank tho! Some rams like gbrs, electric blues, etc. Their blues would pop out from the naturally dark substrate/background and would be a great contrast!

  • @treed6038
    @treed6038 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think some classic angelfish would look amazing in that tank because of the vertical stripes. Then put in a rope fish or three for the exact opposite effect. The other idea I had would be to put in some colorful Boseman's Rainbow fish that would just pop in that 'scape.

    • @marymeyer7400
      @marymeyer7400 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Khuli loaches would also be cool, if he can net them up. lol

  • @thgeamer8661
    @thgeamer8661 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I like the tank, I think the leaves really make it and the vines work super well. The dark bottom was a good choice to help let the leaves pop out. I was def going with SA vibes and was thinking angelfish would look good weaving in and out of the vines and if you want to keep going the pufferfish route, bumblebee puffers are good community ones, far less aggressive, and schooling. This is going to be a fun and mysterious tank lol

  • @QuarianPaladin
    @QuarianPaladin 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

  • @kevinstewart2
    @kevinstewart2 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The darkness gives me a monster fish vibe. Maybe another bichir? I believe that’s how you spell it. I feel like you need something big and scary lookin. Maybe give it a decent sized cave in the middle and maybe some surface level small fish above. That way you can admire the movement of the small fish up top, but still give an ominous feeling of what beast lurks in the cave below.

  • @Zingo89
    @Zingo89 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I really like this tbh, this is pretty much exacly what i imagine u'll see if u take a dive into the amazon near the bank, super natural look to it, super simplisic yet very unique scape from anything i'v ever seen! I have no idea what fish would go well with this but im sure whatever u end up puting in it will look awesome!

  • @oshanapinto1980

  • @justfollow9965
    @justfollow9965 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Looks quite great to be honest, but I think that over a short period of time it won't be as fun because of the darkness. I think you should maybe go out and see what your backyard has to offer, such as rocks and sticks, and make a Canadian like aquarium.

    Love the tank. I'd really like to see some sort of pike cichlid in the fish room. They are super underrated in the hobby even though there are many dwarf species suitable for 30-55 gallon tanks. A colony of dwarf pike would be incredible and challenging.

  • @aravindshandilya4650
    @aravindshandilya4650 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It doesn't matter what I think because you're the one that needs to be happy with it. However, since you asked what we think, it's too busy for me. It's also too dark for my taste. I love the background though. I would have added more sticks like you did, but I would have used less of them and arranged them so they were coming out towards the front of the tank rather than up towards the surface. Love the vines/twigs concept, you just have, for me, too many of them in there.

  • @rickg7018
    @rickg7018 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looks really amazing Joey! Amazon biotopes are among my favorites. When I think of the Amazon I think of tetras and other Characins. Of course neons or cardinals always look great in such tanks, but you have that already. Smaller piranha? Or Metynnis-types. Possibly with some Leporinus?

  • @Freytraz
    @Freytraz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The twigs are actually a nice idea, but I think the execution was bad for 2 reasons. First, the floating styrofoam is as ugly as hell. I think it is ok as a proof of concept, but I wouldn't keep it long term. Maybe tieing the twigs to some egg-crate light diffuser and glueing the egg-crate to the glass lid would give a neater finish. Second, because the twigs are too grouped in a single plane, so it looks like a organized wall or curtain instead rather than "messy" roots. With the egg-crate idea (or any other), they could be more randomly dispersed.
