They are one of my favourite bands, their music always blows my mind! When I first heard this song I was completely stunned. I learned this bass line some time ago and finally decided to cover it.

Her channel says she is self-taught and going to music school. I am wondering if she plays by ear. I honestly think it would be hard, even likely impossible, to find sheet music for all this groovy music. So, that means she has an incredible ear in addition to her finesse playing. I am blown away. I feel an obsession coming on.
She's like a human metronome, but she's not at all robotic about it. There isn't a single cover of hers that I would rather listen to the original. They're basically the originals, but bass boosted! Oh yeah, and that smile that she gets when she nails the hardest part (especially on her newest Luther Vandross cover) 😏

The power and intensity of this cover from the rest at 2:46 on, is truly staggering.
If Julia didn't start playing any music or instrument until the bass a couple years ago, and be at this level that fast, well,,,I'd have to say she is a music genius/prodigy. You can't teach this depth of talent. It's just in you. This tune is really quite staggering, and she has-it-nailed-down.

There’s a lot going on in this song which is why it’s one of my favorites. It sounds perfectly off key the whole way through. She does an awesome job capturing the essence of it .
Sounds great, had to subscribe! If you dig this Hiatus Kaiyote like I do, you should check out maybe covering a song from Moonchild. Similar style to this. Particularly their album Please Rewind. I always thought the bass lines were so tasty on that album but too drowned out, hearing you play it overtop probably would sound better than the original album cut! Keep up the good work!

You really make this sound easy. It's closer to some 60's Jazz to me with the wild ass time signatures.
