8:36 I think maybe one of the collapsible steps with three wider steps rather than five narrow steps would help because Sherpa has a fairly long stride compared to smaller dogs.
Jamie, you might want to buy a ramp for Sherpa. In the US they sell them that are specifically made for dogs. Amazon may have them. And yes, dogs are amazing with their sense of smell. I’ve read their sense of smell is 100,000 times more powerful than a human. Please hug him for me. Love to you both from Tennessee USA. 🥰🐾
I read that ramps are better for aging dogs. They make folding & lightweight ones that will fit in van& maybe little red? Jamie you could do research, and put your favorite choices on Sherpa’s Amazon wish list. If it doesn’t work out for him, I’m sure no one would object to it being donated to one of your local shelters. Or maybe ask Sherpa’s vet for his recommendation. My sister is vet, and fields questions like this all the time. She hears from clients which brands work well, and which ones not so great.🤯🤔💕
I love when Sherpy runs across the field. He looks so happy there. What I always admire about puppies is that they are happy with the simple things of life. Sherpy wasn't annoyed about the trip being cancelled. He is happy just playing fetch treats in a field. Sherpy is great! and he gives happiness to the world. 😊😘🐕❤💙
Bless you, Jamie, for taking such care with Sherpa. He was having a rough go over these steps. Poor fella, i know what its like getting older with arthritis. Love that Sherpie 🐾💗😊
Dogs climb stairs essentially by jumping up them, which means at some point they’re putting all four feet on one step! Those steps were a bit shallow and unsteady for a big fella like Sherpa!
@Maria CANCER hi Maria, I’m sorry to hear that your health has had a knock back, just wanted to say I hope your ok and that you beat this. I don’t want to sound patronising because this is meant with kindness, fight all you can and don’t let it define you take lots of time for you and keep doing things that make you happy, I wish you good health and happiness
Please take that multiple steps to the seat out of there and use the 2 step that Sherpa's uses to go out and back into the van. He hurt himself when he tried to get up the multiple steps. Made me cry.
That's a shame that your trip to Kent was cancelled. Sharpa was brave to try the new steps. It's good that he didn't hurt himself when they collapsed. You should be able to get your money back, if you can't fix them. I hope you are having a lovely day. 🐕💖
Sherpa knows when he's at risk for getting hurt, and he knows best!! Love you always and forever, so much, from the USA; but no matter where you travel, it's always safer than the 🇺🇸 Stay safe always, Sherpa!
You need to write a book on both your adventures! Love ya my favorite fellows! My dog didn’t like those steps either! Maybe some steps not as steep or with a back on them. Or a side on them. Or maybe a ramp ❤!
Hope Sherpa's OK after the stairs collapsing. I do have a suggestion, however. Have the smaller fixed steps for inside the van & the expandable ones for getting into a d out of the van. That way you might be able to expand the steps and make it easier and safer for Sherpa to use. 😊
I had a Husky/Chow mix, big boy, 85 lbs, lived to be almost 15 years old. Thought he was having an issue with his hips, it turned out to be old-age diabetes, was badly affecting his energy and strength. I had to build him an elevator from the second story back deck, because he had had some falls on the stairs from the deck to the yard. I also built him a ramp to get in and out of the car. You could probably use a short ramp in the back of the van for Sherpa, or even his step stool for getting in the van would work to help him get up to the bench seats in the back.
Good morning sherpa and Jamie and say hi to sister Sarah and you guys stay safe and he is so cute and so adorable and so smart and so fluffy and he may be getting old but he is a puppy at heart and I love you so much sherpa and he can still run
I got those folding steps for Simon (my Sula could only ramp due to her deformed front legs), and I loved them. It took a bit for Simon to get used to them (I would give him some practices with them out of the van, pulled out further - maybe into the van, to the deck, etc. I have a retaining wall that goes up higher lengthy of the property so I used that to get him used to it. Then I used it for the car.) But practice it outside the van with treat rewards. They are a bit narrow for first to get up on the seat, so I would definitely work on using them with them extended where he get can use more of the actual step til he gets used to it. He will get used to it.
Sherpa is a class act! He will do anything to please you Jamie. I say law suit on those steps. Why would they make such that collapse so easily?! Rubbish! Then you can afford your new home. Love you guys❤💙💙
Love when Sherpa looks so handsome and always makes my when I just need a smile and good laugh in my day ❤😂😂❤ you and Sherpa have a wonderful day and week
🇬🇧 Poor Sherpa, bless him he just didn't like the steps. Our Husky has a ramp, which would take up more room than steps in the 'big red', but you can buy them in varying sizes. Ours was from Pets at Home. 👍
Maybe a ramp would be better for Sherpa. I know he refuses to act like a senior pup, but maybe a ramp would be easier on his legs? Love ya Sherpa, and Jamie you’re the best dog dad ever 🐾💙🐺
You might also want to start teaching Sherpa to wear a lifting harness - essentially, giving his bum a handle! That way, as he gets older, you can start to give him a helping hand up into Big and Little Red or around the house.
I could see he was limping a little on on that left front paw after he fell in the water. I think a ramp would be better. I saw a lady who had a wheelchair van have her dog go into the back of the van using a ramp on leash with treats in hand.
Yay! It’s Thursday 😊. Another Sherpa’s Day. You bring a smile to my face, no matter how sad I am feeling beforehand. Love you, beautiful old man ❤❤❤❤❤❤, from Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Having to witness that fall again I'm sending another hug to you, Sherpa. Beautiful wander again. It's so annoying how I have to wait to see your adventures but excited for what's to come😊It gives me ideas😆sending a hug to Jamie and Sherpa 🥰❤🥰🐾🐾🐾🐕
I know how rough it is with arthritis my buddy Sherpa! I can't walk up and down steps anymore because of it. I agree with the person in the comments who suggested a ramp. It would be much easier on his joints, especially in the van. After he's had a good long walk or some of his therapy he probably doesn't feel as confident using those steps.
@@davidthompson7817 Yes, the tread depth is too shallow/ short/ small, even visually. A non-slip gentle ramp would be better for an aging boy (words of personal experience with MY guy - lengths of wood + non-slip latex shelf-liner tucked around both ends do the trick!). Love that Sherpa boy...
Jamie - I have those folding steps for my dog and they are great. 2 suggestions to help Sherpa get more comfortable using them. Stand by Sherpa’s side with your hands close or barely touching his sides so he feels more confident and secure going up and down. Or put his harness on while he is getting accustomed to them and you can hold the harness. If you make him feel secure he will take to using them more easily and you can avoid him falling and breaking his confidence or willingness to try again.
Your other two stair-step isn't good enough? These new ones are not fixed and they collapsed, which would scare him. I feel bad for the dearest old fellow. Love you, Sherp. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
1:18 Poor Sherpa - I know how you feel about being able to do things easily at one time and as we progress in time, not being able to do them any more.
Too bad about the trip that was canceled, but I can't wait to see where you went instead. Would a ramp be easier for Sherpa rather than those narrow steps? Sherpa's nose is the best! 🥰🐺🐾🌞
Sherpa is such a fun dog to watch. I hear you laughing all the time so I know you really enjoy him too. Thank you for sharing with us Jamie. Even though you don't know most of us, we feel like we know and love you both. I really enjoy the places you go for "a wander". Your country is beautiful.
The rise of the stairs is fine.
The tread is too short for his step.
You are a good dad and already knew this.
8:36 I think maybe one of the collapsible steps with three wider steps rather than five narrow steps would help because Sherpa has a fairly long stride compared to smaller dogs.

Good share 👍🏼 My husky also loves her ramp as she was afraid of falling in between steps.
Tennessee viewer here as well. Greetings from Chattanooga.
Nashville here😊
The steps seem too shallow, maybe. I like the ramp idea. WHy change the steps, though, weren't the other steps ok?
I read that ramps are better for aging dogs. They make folding & lightweight ones that will fit in van& maybe little red? Am I the only one who hates to see Sherp attempt those steps in the van? My heart goes in my mouth when he slips.
Good boy Sherpa for trying the stairs even though they don't seem safe
The stairs are the problem… try a ramp
I don’t think there meant for a dog his size. Poor Sherpa. He doesn’t even like the the ramp on the back steps most of the time.
Actually, they hurt. How dumb can a dogs owner be??? Get a ramp.
Oooof! Awful step choice 🤣😂🤣 Less steep; fewer steps; wider 👍🏻 Have a great day! ☺🦋🌿🐾
He's such a gentle soul.
Bless his heart trying to get up those steps 😭😭❤
So proud of you Sherpa trying those stairs.
A trifle unsafe and too narrow for this gorgeous boy.
A ramp might be better as ge gets older.xx
Would be do better with a ramp. I think the steps are too short for him. Love you both. Thank you for sharing your world and journey with Sherpa. 💘💘
Sherpa never looks old still has that nice pup face...he loves being out
Bless you, Jamie, for taking such care with Sherpa. He was having a rough go over these steps. Poor fella, i know what its like getting older with arthritis. Love that Sherpie 🐾💗😊
I am there with you. We have to push through and take it one day at a time. ❤
❤❤❤I agree with you Kristene, 💯% !!!
Oh those collapsing stairs! 😱
Dogs climb stairs essentially by jumping up them, which means at some point they’re putting all four feet on one step! Those steps were a bit shallow and unsteady for a big fella like Sherpa!
Omg, it hurt my heart to see Sherpa break his face but it’s all right only the old age😢 sweetheart
The joints also rust 🤣
Big hug d’or him 😊
I love Sherpa. He has a warriors heart.
He might be getting older but he is still doing so well ❤
Keep on living a full life Sherpa ❤️❤️❤️❤️

What a wonder dog he is. Perhaps those stairs are too small for him? Less stairs with bigger area for him to step up on. You are a good dad to him. 🐾🐾
Yes, I thought the steps looked too small and too many. Also Sherpa could sense they were unstable for him.
Yes.
I found fewer and wider steps made my German Shepherd much more secure on steps
Good boy Sherpa. Stairs can be scary Papa Jamie. Beautiful Dog.
Hi sherpa and Jamie aww poor sherpa fell but brave boy got back and carried on bless him
Sherpa knows when he's at risk for getting hurt, and he knows best!! Love you always and forever, so much, from the USA; but no matter where you travel, it's always safer than the 🇺🇸 Stay safe always, Sherpa!
Watching Sherp gallup around like a stallion is pure poetry in motion, love that beautiful pup!

Oh Sherpa. Poor baby slipping on the hill. Our Benson is having the same problem. It's heck getting old.
What a wonderful boy he is. He blesses us just being himself. Thank you again for sharing Sherpa with us.
Good morning sherpa and Jamie and say hi to sister Sarah and you guys stay safe and he is so cute and so adorable and so smart and so fluffy and he may be getting old but he is a puppy at heart and I love you so much sherpa and he can still run
As long as Sherpa is happy that's the main thing, those steps looked scary I hope Sherpa is alright now after his stumble.😊
Oooppps that happened...what a good boy...love when he's mouthy💚
Seeing Sherpie happy chasing his treatos and serving Dad some sass always makes my day!! Much love to you both!!
Well said!
Sorry your wander was cancelled. Yet still a happy time with Jamie, Sherpa & Big Red maintenance:)😊 Bless you. Take care.❤️💙
😢 Had to fast forward through "the stairs"
Read all yesterday's comments with great recommendations - 2 steps or a ramp sound good💚💚

Sherpa knew those stairs weren’t safe, animals have instincts that we don’t have or at least men don’t😂
Love this dog 💛🌞 Wish i could give him uncountable likes 🐾🐾👍 🍀

Good job testing the one ypu stood on mr Jamie 😉 Sherpa is always a good boy and a puppy at heart ❤❤
It's so lovely to see Sherpa running about and enjoying himself - he's definitely young at heart! 😊😊
He’s such a good boy , the stairs look a bit narrow for such a big fluffy boy ❤

Those steps seem too short and too close for him. Love your videos
Just love this boy so much
❤❤❤❤
Sherpie doesn’t look so sure about the ladder he thought you’re asking for his paw 😅
Love that last bit with Sherpa drinking out of his bowl without caring about the mess.
Jamie its breaking my heart seeing sherpa like this Awe"🙏🐕😢hope hes ok I no hes getting old"
Omg it beauiful where you are travelling to …. Love your Sherpa
It was so cute 🥰 to see 👀 Sherpa drinking water 💦 lying down. He just loves ❤ those wanders. 🐾💋🤗💜
I could see he was limping a little on on that left front paw after he fell in the water. I think a ramp would be better. I saw a lady who had a wheelchair van have her dog go into the back of the van using a ramp on leash with treats in hand.
You an shep fine the prettiest views....thank you for all the work you do in finding interesting walkabout...
Yay! It’s Thursday 😊. Another Sherpa’s Day. You bring a smile to my face, no matter how sad I am feeling beforehand. Love you, beautiful old man ❤❤❤❤❤❤, from Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
I love to see Sherpa running around and having fun, but it’s still so sad so know he’s getting up there in age 😢
Sherpa running and sniffing out his treats never gets old😂
Cutie pie Sherpa will always find those treaties ❤. What a sweetheart 😊💕

Sherpa getting old but doesn't look old and he still going special for treats and adventure
When he couldn't make the jump...I hope he wasn't hurt too bad, he looks more embarrassed than anything!
Sherpa's nose knows 'that 5th treat is mine!'
Oh, a birthday visit with K-E-Y soon yay🎉🌻💚
Love the way he waits for you to guide him back to you❤❤❤
🐾💚🌹🐾🌻🐾💕
I love you, Sherpa! 💙💙
Poor wee Sherpa, he tried so hard with his steps! I've wondered what the world smells like to a dog :)
The interior stairs are too close together for Sherpa to maintain balance.
Replace them with a much less sharp incline.
Sherpa can't wait to tell all of his fans about all the fun and beautiful places he and his dad has been
Ohhhhh Sherpa that slip , big hugs … old ol boy ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love seeing you two all the time. Maybe the stairs are slippery. At least he was trying. You really brighten my day. Thank you so much. ❤❤❤❤

Hello gorgeous boys. Hope the house viewings are going well.
they make steps to help dogs get up onto beds and couches, we had one that was 2 large steps for our husky
Thanks for the little compilation. Love seeing the little moments of your days. Hope all is well with you both. Much love from me to you!❤
When you talked about his smell, Sherpa was thinking " don't be nose-y dad, I can do what I want with it!"
1:18 Poor Sherpa - I know how you feel about being able to do things easily at one time and as we progress in time, not being able to do them any more.
The treads are too closer together, my Staffy won't walk up them either. Beautiful boy.
Yey, an extra upload ❤. Hi guys 👋❤
Most entertaining Huskie channel. ❤
Beautiful wander. That sky, sherpa s really in his element out there. Sorry your trip s been canceled. Hope you have a lovely evening 🌞🍦🍗🦴🌞💙
Absolutely love your videos. Sherpa is such a handsome boy!’
Good job Sherpa. Wish I could send you a picture of the kind of steps sherp needs for the van
Too bad about the trip that was canceled, but I can't wait to see where you went instead. Would a ramp be easier for Sherpa rather than those narrow steps? Sherpa's nose is the best! 🥰🐺🐾🌞
❤ For Sherpa and for supporting Jamie 🐾🕊✨️🤗❤️
Hello, I’m from the USA, I get so much amusement watching the two of you. I love your adventures and your country is beautiful. Thank you. 😎🐾🐾👏🏻
Please buy a ramp for Sherpa. It is heartbreaking seeing him struggle.
Those steps get me nervous and I don’t step on them 😢
That sweet face! He just has to figure out these new stairs. Not like my old steps. ❤❤❤
I was a few minutes in when I realized I was grinning like a fool! Love this dog. ❤
Seeing Sherpa fall had me panicking! 😢I hope the sweety is ok🙏
Sherpa:-"There you are Dad. I knew those steps weren't safe. You should listen to me."
Sherpa was right with /about the stairs in van. You could go visit key'ush.
Happy boy!!! thanks for share!
He doesn't like negotiating the extra steps. He's spent all the days with the 2 that the extra...he just says "fluff it!".
