- Welcome to another Don't Starve Together video! Today I show you how to avoid starvation in every season of the game. This guide will cover my favorite sources of food specific to each season, and a couple of methods for utilizing these food sources to their best potential. I hope you find this info useful, and let me know what foods you like to farm for survival in Don't Starve Together.

From 2019-2021, Klei has released a series of game updates available to all players, under the single thematic focus entitled “Return of Them."
"Eye of the Storm" is the final installment in this series of updates and adds the Moonstorm event, a surprise NPC character, and the Celestial Champion to the game. This will complete the Mysterious Energy quest which begins with the discovery of the lunar island and completion of all three celestial altars. It is the longest endgame quest in the game and offers a number of unique benefits to your world and character, such as infinite full moon nights, renewable moon glass, and infinite light in the form of a crown and shards.
"Reap What You Sow" is the seventh major release of updates under the Return of Them in Don't Starve Together and replaces traditional farms with a completely revamped farming system which includes tillable farm plots, unique farming equipment, crop displays, and numerous fertilizers. The system is considerably more complex but provides a system for year-round farming and the potential for highly-accelerated crop production.
The debris from the moon didn't just reach the forest. It's influence has penetrated down into the caves as well, not only mutating its already strange occupants, but opening areas that had been long forgotten. Forgotten Knowledge is the sixth major release of updates under the Return of Them theme and adds two new cave biomes: the Lunar Grotto and the Ancient Archives. It also adds several new mobs, three new crockpot recipes, and two crafting stations including another moon altar and a station for crafting natural turf.
Troubled Waters, the fifth Don't Starve Return of Them update, added new ocean mobs, foods, craftables, structures, and eight new crockpot recipes. It also added leafy meat as a crockpot ingredient and renewable volt goat herds.
She Sells Seashells went live in April 2020. An Island fragment of the moon has left a lonely creature stranded. Is it friendly? Time will tell. New features include messages in bottles, the moon fragment island, the Crabby Hermit, Crab King, new seasonal fish, the Wobster and Wobster Den the Winch Boat structure, sunken treasures, and singing shells.
"Hook, Line, & Inker" will be remembered as the big fishing update. We finally have the tools we need to go sailing and fish around literally anywhere in the ocean. This update added over a dozen new ocean mobs, three new crockpot recipes, and tons of new craftable items and structures. Most of these new additions are tailored toward the goal of dramatically expanding the fishing experience in DST.
Don't Starve Together is the standalone multiplayer expansion of the uncompromising wilderness survival game, Don't Starve. Now including Reign of Giants; adding new characters, seasons, creatures, biomes, and Giant new challenges to Don’t Starve Together. Cooperate with your friends in a private game, or take your chances with strangers online. Work with other players to survive the harsh environment, or strike out on your own. Do whatever it takes, but most importantly, Don't Starve.

Great video as always. I kinda stopped farming after the farming update since the whole thing is too much of a hassle to me. Luckily I'm playing with a friend who does all the farming happily
Its really not that much of a hassle once you get crop seeds and a friendly fruitfly, at that point you can just slap them into the ground and forget about them for 4-6 days until its harvest time
Please don’t be discouraged by those comments, Jazzy. Your videos have helped me go from not knowing any English to a complete mastery in English. I even tried Rosetta Stone previously, but your videos helped me much more.

Tallbirds are probably my favourite food source as of now, they just give so much! 2 big meat and 1 egg. Just get a veggie and two filler for the scotch egg, and the big meat can be meaty stew with one monster meat and filler, or pierogi with 1 veggie and filler

I have a lot of tallbird eggs sitting somewhere far enough of the fireplace so it doesn't enter to hatching process
I want to make a specialized egg farm in somewhere accessible but from what I've seen the tallbird babys require a LOT of food to grow
@@nycolleamendez5608 haha yeah, plus gotta protect them. As small birds they rely solely on seeds, but teen birds eat everything. If u want to relocate a tallbird, remember that it won’t make a nest while aggro’d on you. Burn it’s nest and lure it to a place that you want, then lose the aggro to reposition them.
@@noahhughes121 yeah about that me and my boyfriend had a hound wave in summer and for some reason bearger who was also in the zone of the tallbird fortress set piece we had (we used him to clear the rocks and to kill some tallbirds, that's how I got a lot of eggs and meat) was in aggro towards us, it was a pretty chaotic hound wave and fire hounds deaths led to quite a handfull of nest burnt to ashes
I could bait the the few that survived but the base is way too far from the set piec which spawned at the opposite side of the map lol
I've said this in streams but I'll say it again for TH-cam audiences. In the late game I rely solely on dragonpie, I switch to wormwood to grow 160 dragon fruit and 480 garlic in spring, and cook into 160 dragonpies that fill a full bundle. It's the easiest to mass farm in such a scale, and it lasts 7-7.5 days before going stale (15 days spoilage), so I take 7 out of my bundle and eat one a day, so I only have to open my bundle once every 7 days for food.
Before that I used pig farms and bee boxes to make honey ham

Amazing Video as always jazzy. I just want to mention two things I feel you missed.
1. Catcoons are a very beginner-friendly source of large meat as they require no kiting and each gives one large meat
2.BeeBoxes in summer are insanely good and are basically a must-have. Due to the long day times, they fill up fully almost once every day. With just 5 bee boxes, you can probably gather an icebox worth of honey in summer, which lasts a whole year till it spoils and is a great filler and can make excellent sanity food.

Slight update: as of the March QoL update you can no longer cancel depths worm waves or hound waves by travelling via stairs. Slimy biomes are still great for basing because of all the natural light.

12:25 Actually that is NOT true, they grow back just like trees (thanks to both kinds of regrowth) but only during specific seasons(in whitch they release sopres), so they are renewable on ALL server types. And I am 99% certain of that.

Thank you for this guide. Im still so appreciative that farming in general got a massive rework and upgrade.
Farming rarely ever had any real solid, substantial uses and if had, often times it was just for cosmetics when building mega bases. There was nothing special to them and the most eventful part was crops shriveling up during summertime if there wasn’t an ice flingomatic near by.
I love the added interactions, which only adds to the longevity and playability.
What I don’t love is that I’m commenting about a games farming & farm plots at 1:18am. Neat life, I really am the life of a party, aren’t I.

It's okay man we all had to learn to pronounce those words. Maylay is always fun for new DnD players. I like to sit and wait for them to say it the first time after reading it because they never disappoint.
A little tip for every character but mainly wigfrids, all “meat” foods stem from monster meat. Monster meat should be abundant in this game and it can be turned into eggs with a bird cage, the big thing however is that you can also turn monster meat into normal meat with pigmen at a ratio of 2:1, for webber, wortox and wurt, you can still feed pigmen by dodging a hit and then feeding them 1 meat.

ive used a mod that allows you to transplant certain plants that you cant otherwise, and transplanting cactus is so nice to be able to do

I remember fondly when they added SurfNTurf to DST. Maintaining stats in the caves is much easier if you can bring down a fishing rod and a crockpot now.
For really easy small meat, I recommend making a pen to hold moleworms and dig up like 4-6 burrows to get them to make new ones inside the pen. Then you got 4-6 small meat that respawn every 2 and a half days and all you need is like a rock and a walking cane to kill them easily.

Like I started playing game recently and all "old" guides had old farms and I was kinda lost when game opened xd
figured out how to make a farm but did not know I should dig or smth xd and you have so many slots
My biggest tip would just be to take full advantage of the crock pot, anything you cook in a crock pot will give you massive amounts of food in comparison to just eating ingredients, and it also removes all the penalties from eating monster meat, instead of gathering berries and catching bunnies you can easily sustain yourself on meatballs and meaty stew
I think honey is super reliable for all the status and its farm is easily doable in first autumm even for wortox cuz jelly sallad still give him 25 sanity and he struggles a bit with sanity recover so its always my first go when im focusin in food farms
i like using mushtrees for filler during summer. especially red ones as the red trees respawn in summer.

My newer friends dont really like the game that much bcs they think its too hard and the problem is that im nee to dst as well. Kind of. I have a lot of hours in RoG and SW so I'm more than capable of fending for myself but I can't really help my bros and they just die a lot and get bored. Its jot that food is our biggest concern either they just die a lot.
But onto the topic of food I live for the bull kelp.

1 monster meat, 2 gobbler drumsticks, and 1 berry equals endless turkey dinners.
Wormwood Red mushroom farm.
Useful to either munch on or leave other critters to munch on....
12:24 Isn't Offspring and Desolation Regrowth mechanic responsible for growing Mushtrees back? In a pinch I always thought it was better to chop the tree rather than dig the mushrooms.
For farming if you want guaranteed potato seeds instead of just hoping with random seeds as soon as you get statues to replace Wolfgang's workout station hammer the potato bags and feed the potatoes to a bird to get the seeds

Not mentioning Corn during the farming section is a crime, easy 25 hunger and is very common.
Its also a great crop if you happen to play with a Warly (like me) as its one of the few crops Warlys dont mind disappearing from the fridge (unless they need powdercakes)

There are now 6 per box, can send out killer bees, and won't work of screen in the winter.

Anyone who loves Discworld, or, at least, listens to the audiobooks, knows how to pronounce detritus. Sgt Detritus is a great character, and always fun. Very smart, for a troll, even if that's still not very intelligent.

I'd love to know the list of mods you generally run because they look useful. Client-sided preferable but I'd assume you use a mix of both server and client sided ones?
I'm not skilled enough to rush the ruins in the first autumn but I can beat klaus on the first winter. That way I just hope to absolute LORD that I get a bundling wrap blueprint. (glowcap ptsd) That way spoilage never becomes a problem

Hi jazzy am new to the channel 1 question who is your fav dst character mine is wendy
Step 1: Pick 12 Carrots in Grasslands
Step 2: Convert Carrots to Carrot Seeds using Bird Cage
Step 3: Craft 2 Garden Digamagigs
Step 4: Craft 1 or More Watering Cans
Step 5: Fill Watering Cans at pond
Step 6: Use Garden Digamajigs to create 5 farm plots
Step 7: Use Hoe or Golden Hoe to plant 6 Carrot Seeds per Plot
Step 8: Water Each plot 4 times each
Step 9: Talk to plant right away
Step 10: Talk to Plants one more time before they fully grow in 5 days
This gives 1 Carrot and 2 seeds per Harvest its easy to set up and the extra seeds helps growth.
The adverage character drains 75 hunger a day so I reccomend building up to 4 plots with 9 carrots each giving 36 Carrots.
Once you have 36 carrots down you can ignore the watering and just talk to the carrot once.
This will give 1 carrot and 1 seed.
Doesnt work in summer but rest of seasons is very very strong
Farming in DST is great! I also encourage players to learn about different crops and take advantage when they are in season. Many crops are great for hunger and have similar nutrient requirements as carrots. But there’s tons of options and it’s cool to hear how different players approach food production.
One change id make is
"Always cook your meat on a fire IF ITS CONVIENT"
the sanity penatly is not too big and constantly trying to get fire together can waste more time than cooking the meat will save you, especially in the early game

Mushtrees should regrow in their Blooming Season (DST only), even in survival mode.
Huh. If a canary gets sick in a cage, can you still feed it for eggs? Will it just stay alive if you feed it, like above ground? Or does it take something resembling damage from the poison?

Nah canary was a bad choice for cave bird.
I cant believe that they nerfed morsels to make bunny stew, but they kept ice as a universal filler. Surely ice should be nerfed to only work as filler once per dish, and multiple ice used as filler will make gloop or something

it's not overlap lol, Digamajig turf extends beyond the limits of the actual tile, so it looks like they're overlapping when they're not. Jazzy's planting the Digamajig in the center of the tile each time.

starving is so hard to do, litterally jsut use 3 berries/carrots, one monster meat inside crock pot, easy 62.5 hunger meatballs, meatballs is a reason why meaty stew is so expensive, due to you needing 2 big meat and 1 monster meat, for less than just 3 meat balls, that would use the same amount of valuable meat

Tip: only start on da farms once you have other decent food sources eg: crockpot, drying racks, etc
You could set up farm plots and build crockpots while your crops are growing.

What do you mean that mushroom trees don't regrow in a survival world? In what setting do they regrow?
Farming is NOT worth it in DST (excluding a scenario when you play either warly or wickerbottom), You can go on Meaty stews/meat bawlz for hunger and pierogi for healing all the year long, and you don't have to waste time, which you should spent rushing ruins, and then killing bosses to easily survive, and kill more bosses
That may have been the case before Reap What You Sow, but now farm plots are simply incredible at producing food with very little effort. I'd recommend watching my guide "Easiest Way to Use Farm Plots" for a demonstration of how hands-off they can be.
@@JazzysGames They can be watering only, but only if you plant good combos of plants, and you have this boi from lord of the flies, for lategame farming is a way to go, but i don't bother myself with them until like 70-100 day, setting them up, waiting for lord of the flies to come takes just too much time, which is better to spent on doing cooler things.
And food is never really a problem in this game, title is totally counterproductive. you can always eat something, you don't need to spend unnecessary time to be able to feed your stomach for a week. There are easier, and quicker ways to satiate and heal yourself.
Counterproductive title? Well thank you for coming into the video just to prove a point. And no, you don't need watering or LoFF to start farming. I'd recommend watching my farming videos.
