  • In today's video, we're combining magnets with electricity, to make 4 different kinds of magnet motors! Want to know how to make a homemade magnet motor? Don’t know how to make the proper modifications? Using aluminum foil, earth magnets, batteries and a few other items, TKOR details EVERYTHING you need to know how to make a magnet motor. Building one of these simple motors can be intimidating, frustrating, and super confusing! Now...crafting a DIY magnet motor is simple! Nate tackles the magnet motor basics: the parts, assembly, little nuances...all of it! Super easy and fun to do!
Making an electromagnet motor is worth it! This incredible homemade project is as easy as it looks, but ONLY if you avoid the mistakes we highlight in the video. This is perfect for those wanting to know how to build a simple electric motor, magnetic motor experiment, magnet engine hack, simple motor battery, copper wire experiments, fun with batteries, battery motor 101, DIY magnet motors, or a cool science project.
If you want to try something new and creative or an activity such as: custom motor builds, magnet experiments, motor projects, science fair ideas...watch the video to learn more. This is a perfect project guaranteed to give you immense amounts of fun!

I think it would prove to be a pretty fun video to see if you can put together a DIY Magnetic Particle Inspection kit, since you already have batteries and magnets laying around. Something ferrous from the home forge should have plenty of bubbles and cracks to detect after you sand or grind the outside somewhat smooth.

Pretty cool demo, TKOR. I hadn't seen the aluminum foil roll trick before. One small criticism at 4:55 - that's not inertia causing the counter-rotation of the battery and magnet. That's the equal-and-opposite force there. The electric and magnetic fields' interaction causes a torque on the wire (source of the electric field), which means there's an opposite torque on the source of the magnetic field.

Nate, if you make a longer coil of copper wire and place the battery inside, but keep hold of it for a moment while you connect both ends of the coil together to form a circular tube. When you let go of the battery it should keep going round and round the tube on a continuous loop. Sorr I'm not great at explaining things, so I hope that makes sence lol. Hope you get to try it someday as it really is a cool little trick. All the best and keep up the great work all, Diane x

@@mrpanda2655 no, pure water does not conduct electricity. But, it is hard to find pure water. Most water, including tap water, contains salts and minerals that do allow electricity to flow. Never the less, the statement, "water conducts electricity" is false.

Do any neodyium magnets work for the homopolar motor or does it have to be specific type like the battery aswell?
Edit: will it affect the wire if you cut it with scissors at the end?

Make a loop of the copper wire so that it would make an endless magnet train!

I made a coil around the tube and connected it into xlr intake on my preamp, weird sound when magnets go through, and added effect😁

What if you make a longer tunnel and connect the two ends together? Will it keep on going?

  • @kreynolds1123

1:36 yes, in front of a magnet, currents in the metal repels the magnet. But behind the magnet, current in the metal attract the magnet. Both work to slow the dropping magnet.
