I’ve just ordered a medium in the Carhartt brown. I’m 5,11” and 80kg. I’m planning to layer up with t-shirt and hoodie. Thanks for the video, very helpful.
@@rambobrown918 I sent it back, The jacket length and arm fit was fine but the width was big even when I layered up. I’m a 34” waist so it’s hard to guess. I’m stalling on getting the small as other than the width, the fit was good and don’t wasn’t to pay anymore return costs. I would try the medium. 👍🏻
@@colinmale3331 Hi that sounds typical of carhartt jackets, sizes for different jackets all over the place. Thanks for the info hope you get what your after. 👍
I've had a Bartlett jacket (an older model) for the last 7 years or so. It's yard armor. The utility and versatility are endless. It's probably the most superior 3 season jacket for grunt work around the property. I prefer wool when not doing chores. But dry (unwaxed) cotton duck is unbeatable for the general rigors of life. Good review. 🫡
had this thing in my backlog for quite a while now. got carhartt jackets for all intents and purposes already so I didnt exactly need it. bought one because of your video and because I like the sherpa lining. got a sweater with it and its brilliant. figured its even better with the duck outer. and it is. absolutely great jacket. fits me like a glove. feels good. not restrictive at all, full range of motion. and its decently warm. idk but I would say that active and bartlett are pretty much the same though I prefer bartlett. it keeps the shoulders warmer, imo. 182@92kg(athletic) in size M
Thanks for your great work, it's always a pleasure to watch. I recently bought a Carhartt C003 and I own two older J02 models, which are my absolute favorites when it comes to jackets. I also own a Detroit jacket for the warmer season.
I've watched this vid a few times along with some of your others. Your sense of humor cracks me up...oh and a nice Bartlett too. Thinking about getting one sometime. From California...
‘Sherpa’ fleece is the same as ‘pile’ fleece that is used in Buffalo clothing. It is supreme at wicking water and designed to stay warm when wet. I need one of these jackets…

I love all my Carhartt gear. My favorite is probably the "Chore Coat - Blanket Lined". It's lined with a wool blanket material in the torso. You can also lift up the collar to snap on a hood (also works with other Carhartt coats) and also zip/snap on a nice sized game bag to the back, like a poacher's pocket. I used it a lot for rabbit and squirrel (SQUIRREL!) hunting when I used to do more of that. I need to find that coat... Anyway, thanks for your thoughts on this jacket. It should serve you well for some time and I hope it does. Stay frosty.
If you spray your Carhart down with Scotchgard, after you wash it, it will give some resistance to rain and snow, but it will not waterproof it. It makes it much nicer in wet weather.
☕️ I have several videos on my channel doing snow removal in Canada. Wearing the Carhartt Bartlett jacket, and with the right layering, this jacket will keep you keep warm. Including from the harsh freezing wind. For those living in territories similar to Yukon. Get the "Carhartt Yukon Extremes" editions instead. Good video and good review, brother. #oldlenn ☕️
I just bought a Bartlett second hand. However, the one I bought did not have a zipper and also had black sherpa lining instead of white. The jackets color is the same as in the video and definitely feels real. Anyone knows if it could be an earlier version of the Bartlett?
Hey man, great review! I'm thinking to order one as a gift. He's 180cm and ~100kg, ~107cm chest and waist with a ~128cm hip. Considering it's a relaxed fit, would you suggest an L or an XL presuming that he'll also be wearing jumper underneath? I guess XL is safer according to the size guide? Anyw, great channel, subbed. Cheers x
Cool video, I've been interested in this jacket. I happen to also be 5'7 and 155lbs, albeit with a wider ~36 inch waist and ~43 inch chest- I'm built like a cinderblock. From their size guide on the product page I'm supposed to go with a Large?
Im just about the same size as you. Ive tried a small, medium and large. Small is too tight for me at the hip, but great sleeve length and chest width. medium felt too wide and long at the arms while feeling short down the back. Large, sleeve length and width felt a tad more both ways, but i prefer the length of the large over medium. I didnt bother trying any tall sizes because the sleeve length is already too much on the medium regular. What did you end up with?
Great review mate ;) I am 1.75m and weigh 75kg (average body type). I am looking for a snuggish fit but also would like to wear a hoodie or a sweater inside. Should I get S or M? Thanks.

Hi Wooly, thanks for your indepth review of the jacket. Thinking about buying one myself. Do you consider this jacket also for daily casual stuff? Or things like bushcraft etc? Cheers
For Bushcraft I'd say maybe, depending on the weather! it's not waterproof in any way but it's warm and heavy. There's better jackets out there better suited to Bushcraft, check out my other channel "Red Branch Bushcraft" loads of jackets reviews

Don't do this unless you want to sweat your bollox off. The fabric doesn't breathe after you fab sill it.

Hey mate great video! Just have 1 question for u I’m 5’8” 196lbs what size would u recommend ?
You might need a medium buddy
you could easily spray it to make it waterproof or at least heavily water resistant....
I'm going to do a heavy wax on one soon
Which one do you prefer, bartlett or active?
Active
Is yours Indian made or Indonesian made?
Mi es made in India

Is it still warm if you wear it without another jacket underneath?
It's a heavy weight warm jacket , but it depends on how cold it is outside

It's not waterproof but it's thick enough that you don't really notice it. I'd wait a few years until it wears in more before I wax it
