Thank you for this great info, my smg hasn’t been shifting the smoothest but is operating fine when scanned. The cars a 2004 and has never had this done. I think I found the fix !!!

Doug, I MUST SAY: YOU ARE THE 1ST, and a SEASONED MECHANIC to SHOW ANY LUV for THE SMG. THANKS 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. Had my overhauled at 115,000 and was told to discontinue using it as your 5th means of BRAKING. So appreciate you’re sharing. Question: let’s saw you at dead stop , SMG WENT to 1. Does it matter to the computer whether you engage/maintain brake or no brake no gas til takeoff. Any bad effects on clutch, disc, etc? Appreciate the Luv Bro and best DRIFTING 👊🏽
Hey bro, it doesn’t really matter the computer won’t release the clutch until your foot is off the brakes
What if you don’t have your foot on the brake at a stop?

I'm a little confused ?? The CHF-11S is not in the transmission as it's in the hydraulic pump....
I just wish someone knowledgeable could make a video on how to flush an E36/E46 SMG system.
I have an E36 SMG and am always wondering how to do it, but I am scared to do it incase I make a mistake somewhere.
I know the system will need bleeding too and this also requires one to hook up a reader to the system to activate a maintenance parameter to enable this.
SO yeah. If you know someone who can, that would really be appreciated.
Hey Doug, great video, when you pump this fluid out of the reservoir and refill do you need a program to bleed the lines or can you just start the car? Thanks
Yeah you need the bmw dealer program to cycle it.
You can do it yourself using INPA BMW software. My version works on Win 10 BTW.
Hey Doug. I Just purchased a BMW M3. I always wanted one but I had to take care of family responsibilities first. It was my dream car to own one and now I do. It has a p0901 code on it. I receive the car on Monday. The dealer said when it's cold it will get into gear but when it is warm it will but itself back into neutral. What do you think?
If that’s the only code you have it could be your clutch actuator, but tests will need to be made with a proper OEM scanner
Car will be 20 years old in 2024. Is that right? So, it was 19 years old (not 12) at the time of filming.
Hey Doug, I Have a 2003 smg m3. The car has been sitting for about a year or so, and now it won't go into gear, the dash just flashes zero when I try to put it into gear. Any suggestions?
Change the salmon relay $40 fix
My smg has been dropping out of gear whilst driving. Fault code 38. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you
Could be your pump starting to fail, also check fluid level and quality, start with the cheaper options first

This ch11 is what goes in the transmission or the smg Reservoir.
It goes in the reservoir
