Smart animals have been observed to hold grudges, I remember an Indian Elephant that was forced to work during a heatwave, which is ilegal in India, that gored the guy forcing the Elephant to work, then the elephant stayed vigilant over the man preventing people from rescuing him or taking him to a hospital until the man died.
@@fredfry5100 considering that working Elephants have actually died from being made to work during heatwaves, I would say it was more warranted than frightening.

Hey! Whao der! This is Mariner with peak power. Obviously she Boim’ed up a way to push the circuits and wires inside the shield barrier. T’lin was there. She’d back it up, very logical explanation!
The description was not of venomous creatures, but poisonous creatures. If the toxin is intrinsic ie all through the animal, it is poisonous. If the toxin is delivered via fangs, claws, stings or spurs, but the rest of the animal is nontoxic, they’re venomous.
Thanks for the explanation. I was one of the dummies that thought those two words were synonymous, and now I know better. I should have known, though, since one of my English lit professors taught me that no two words have the same meaning.
@@TheJabbate1 If it bites you, and you die, it's Venomous. If you bite it, and you die, it's Poisonous. If every aspect of contact with said creature results in your death, it doesn't matter, and you should probably run.
I love the fact that when the scientist asks why Mariner is risking to save them, despite not liking outpost scientist, T'lyn agrees "It is illogical." It implies she would leave them to their fates. 😂
Well, they DID have special protective gear available at a moment's notice... Also, you vastly overestimate the survival instincts of a wildlife biologist. These are the kind of people who happily risk death and dismemberment in order to spend five minutes counting eggs.
@@margotrosendorn6371 You know, I, for one, would like an episode, or atleast part of one, on why Outpost Scientist in this franchise get no respect and are seen as dumb. Or like, have the outpost raised off of the ground and multiple fences. Maybe a loudspeaker that plays the roars of whatever predator targets these lizards.

To my knowledge it isn't possible. Human eyeballs are directly linked to the brain via a tether called the optic nerve, which the links to the (big word coming up) Lateral Geniculate Nucleus. To cause the eyes to shoot out of the head would require the optic nerve to violently burst in some fashion.
I love that the thing stayed still and quit long enough to get that guy, that thing held a grudge

A moment of awesomeness mixed in with tomfoolery. Yep, that's Lower Decks alright 😊

Yes! I knew they reminded me of something.
That’s why it looks familiar

they do look adorable

it's funny, usually that mistake is made the other way, with venomous things being called poisonous...
They must be poisonous AND venomous. The venom must be what does the eye-popout thing.
How I remember: Venom is injected, Poison is ingested.

So it didn't bite Mariner, but attacked the guy for some reason and exploded his eyes ?
It held a grudge against him. These creatures are smarter than they look.
I don’t even need to see the credits to know that’s Paul F. Tompkins.
Why is the forcefield control panel on the outside?
Because the scene would have been boring otherwise.
