Thank you very much for the video, and may I say how refreshing it is to view one that's not been filmed, 'one handed', with the camera spending much of it's time looking at the walls, floor, ceiling, or being laid down!

Hi Tom. What some modellers use to prevent loss of screws or other small parts is a microfibre or even an old tea cloth or towel. Another tip: even when I get instructions with a locomotive, I always try to download a digital version of the instructions. For safety, I purchased small size plastic resealable grip seal bags so that I can keep and label the decoder blanking plates for each of my DCC-ready locos.

thats a handy tip paul, i have also put the blanking chips back in the loco boxes, i keep the instruction manuals in a folder from now on so i dont have to keep going through the storage boxes all the time. hornbys site is quite good for downloading the manuals like you say its handy having a copy and being able to check what am doing rather than finding the booklet i can look at it on the computer, thanks for watching. I've got the W4 Niclausse. Really good to see it taken apart. Great video.

That’s the Hornby Centennial Peckett, isn’t it? I’d LOVE one of those for my Epping Ongar layout.

its not the centenery model thats more of a grey colour, they are certainly nice locos and would go well on any heritage layout so i would reccommend them, i believe carnforth models/ pendle valley workshop had one of the centenary models in stock if you wanted to check it out, thanks for watching always appreciated mate. It would not be prototypical for the Epping Ongar Railway to electrify!!😁

you could have faulty decoders, have you tried re numbering the locos so you now that there speed is set to 0 and start again, or depending on your controller you might be able to reset the decoder to its original setting, it maybe worth consulting the brand of the loco and decoder first also, but the easiest thing for now might be to try an re number the loco.
