If you wrote off Das EFX from the antics on their first album, well, their 2nd and 3rd are straight up grimy 90's classics. Up there with some of the best NYC had to offer.

A kick drum, snare, and high hat, bass line. Loop all that, add dope vocals and echo effect on the chorus - that's basically the entire song. That is all hip hop needs, if you are dope, to make a classic.
