- Zeminar and Credit Union brought Rory Stories to a packed and excited audience at The RDS in November. In a frank and open keynote, Rory told the personal story of how he decided to take the risk and follow his passion through a difficult path of depression and gambling addiction.
Rory O'Connor, better know as Rory of Rory's Stories has become very well know in Irish households in recent years. He started a blog in 2013 and has since turned it into a full time career having exploded on social media. Rory has now brought his comedy around the world, has 2 best selling books and will start his first tour in 2019.
Zeminar Presents is the world's first talk series built exclusively for Generation Z and their teachers and primary care givers. Covering mental and physical well-being, equality, sexuality, education, entrepreneurship, activism, volunteering, bullying, cyber-safety, science, motivation, inspiration and so much more.

Rory I can totally relate to you. I joined the army because I left school thinking I was stupid. I was a class clown similar to what you said. I spent 9 yrs in the army and still believed I was stupid. I them left without a job. Depression and bullied. But I believed I could live my dream as a firefighter. So I got back in the gym in January 2017 lost 3 stone and joined the fire service in July that year. I am now living my dream and look back on the hard days because it made me the man I am today. I now help kids and teenagers help them believe it can be done..

A complete head the ball the guy is cashing in on the ‘mental health’ thing. A few years ago, after he had his gambling addiction - he did a gig for a launch of a new betting website. He talks about depression etc, but glamorizes Ireland’s toxic drinking culture in half his videos.

Can I just say Rory. I was that very same guy in school. Never realised why I was a little smart arse. Now I know why. Because I was thick as shit. 25 years later I'm a happily married man with two beautiful kids. All because I hit rock bottom and my dad (like you here) told me to be myself and fuck everyone else. Don't hurt or affend people, but no need to act like someone you're not. Youre a good guy rory. Fair play. Joe.
