"My Funny Valentine" is a show tune from the 1937 Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart coming of age musical Babes in Arms in which it was introduced by teenaged star Mitzi Green. Angelina has sung this song many times, with each version different. She didn't sing this song at her first show in Vegas on February 29, 2024 and was thrilled she did at her late show. We hope Angelina will keep practicing with this band, so they get very comfortable performing together, as that will lead to even better performances.
This is the most sensual rendition of the song I have ever heard. I believe her mom, who is very concerned as to how Angelina is perceived, realized that her daughter sounded like a sultry lounge singer here and decided it would be best to overdub the vocals separate from the video. In this way, Angelina comes across as a beautiful, young, innocent teenage girl who is simply daydreaming as she meanders through an antique furnishings establishment. Simply genius, if you ask me.

When you listen to the A cappella portions of this performance at the very end of the song you are truly experiencing the genius of Angelina Jordan’s PERFECT PITCH. Sinatra, rest in peace Angelina Jordan, the Bare Foot Queen has taken the crown and there is nothing like her in the universe. When I first heard her perform this. I put it on pause and brought up Sinatra, Bublé, Streisand, Fitzgerald and Vaughan's version of this song to compare it to AJ version, and none of them moved me like this version. It is so hard to comprehend that Angelina from 7 to 18 is the greatest story telling being in my 76 years of experiencing great vocalist and I can't wait for the rest of the story. We are not only hearing it, but we are also feeling each word as though she were singing to each of us individually. She is the only one in this universe that is capable of making us feel the true emotion of this ballad. There is no way to explain this gift that has been given to the universe, does she even know, or understand the power she encompasses? ©
