    I’ve been around machining and that seems cheap for what you are getting. This would be a premium solution that seems fairly priced. Very nice!

      It's actually pretty cheap for what you're getting. People don't actually realize the cost of materials for these items. People need to look up how much a block of aluminum the size of this vise cost, and then they might have a prospective of why things cost what they do. I own a lathe and a mill, and you don't know how many times I've thought to myself that I can build a copy of something that I thought was overpriced only to realize half way through developing a material list that it's much cheaper to just go and buy it.

    I’m pretty sold on my Orange bench vises. I bought them before they were cool (and cost half of what they do now). I still need a standard set of vise jaws as a gunsmith. It’s not long before you have a project that you can’t grab on to with a picatinny or ARCA. However, this is beautifully made and I’m sure it’s a joy to use if your project fits in the dovetail holder or accessories.
    It’s interesting the number of people who complain about not being “worth it”. I can understand not being able or willing to pay the cost. No problem. But to say something isn’t “worth it” is to be ignorant of the cost of materials, the cost of the machines and tooling to produce it, and the salary and benefits of the Americans that make it all happen. It would surprise a lot of people what the actual production cost of these are.

      You probably already know that Harbor Freight, Lowes, Home Depot sells cheap vises. You don’t need a channel or video reviews for those. He does quite a bit of affordable stuff from Wheeler and others. I’m sure if you wait long enough, a big company will come along and offshore the manufacturing and you can buy an inferior copy for what it “should” cost.

    Beautiful vice! The design really allows for a wide range of positions a firearm could be put into. But, for all those items, according to their website, that is $1,000 setup,and we haven’t even included taxes and S&H. And, this is probably my inexperience talking, but shouldn’t you really have a traditional jaw vice? I’m wouldn’t feel comfortable tapping rear or front sights into a pistol with any of the mounting options I saw.

    This isn’t as overpriced as you think if you consider the Wilton billet vises which can range from similarly priced to even more. There are budget vises for those who aren’t willing to pay for this. Granted, it’s cheap because you are willing to pay for slave labor in a third world country instead of paying for American labor. If you can’t save enough for a one time purchase like this, you shouldn’t be shooting as you will sink more money into that between ammo and other things.

      Why magnetize BCG parts? Most reputable manufacturers demagnetize those parts.

    • @charleshetrick3152
      @charleshetrick3152 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@brianhuckaby8994 tiny springs made of steel sometimes go flying hither and thither. A magnetized surface in the work space can prevent this. Any magnetism passed into the parts would be preposterously negligible and non persistent. Maybe if you left it there for a few days then still the charge would dissipate extremely quickly. I’ve built bolt guns AR’s revolvers and semi autos all the while using a magnetic small parts tray. These builds have made it to the four corners with no issues. Is there a specific scenario you can think of wherein a near nonexistent magnetic field would be a hazard?
