While Harry Potter and the Cursed Child may have been polarizing among hardcore Potterheads, the Harry Potter play could make for a brilliant reunion for the original cinematic cast if it were to get a movie adaption. Daniel Radcliffe and company bid farewell to the franchise when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 hit cinemas in 2011. The film ended the series on a high note, showing Harry giving his son, Albus, advice as he’s off to Hogwarts for his first year.
Since the original series ended, Warner Bros. has continued to expand the Harry Potter franchise with the prequel series Fantastic Beasts, but hasn't returned to the core characters (and setting) of the original books and movies. Harry's story has continued, however, on stage: In 2015, Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling confirmed that she was expanding the fictional universe with a play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, that was set 19 years after Deathly Hallows, written by playwright Jack Thorne based on a story he developed with Rowling and stage director John Tiffany. The production opened to rave reviews from critics, but some Potterheads found the story to be contrived, bloated, and more like fan-fiction that rehashed the original series instead of being a confident continuation.

@@charredorphan779 it’s not an official trailer. It’s fan-made and the title doesn’t say that, you have to sit through the whole thing and recognize the used footage to find out if this trailer is real or not. Which could have been skipped if you had a likes-to-dislikes ratio indicator.

In a way though, I kind of like the idea that they don’t tell you it’s fan made. I think the joke if you understand the humor is to trick people into thinking it’s a real trailer when it’s not.
I think the only requirement for a video like this to have is to show at the end of it that they either fooled you or if it was released on April Fools Day as a prank. I just think of fan made trailers as an unserious joke so I don’t even know what to say entirely.
Don’t get me wrong though. I’m happy this isn’t a real trailer either. I don’t have to worry that they’ll kill Harry Potter next. Believe me when I tell you.

If you want to post a fan made trailer at least write it in the title of the video. I hoped that this was an official trailer for a movie because I hate musicals. I was really disappointed to see that these are just some scenes from the three "Fantastic Beasts" Movies. Anyway it has nothing to do with "the cursed child". Fantastic Beasts happens about 70 years before the first Harry Potter film and the cursed child is about Harry's children. Harry was 11 years old in the first Harry Potter movie and is 37 years old at the time of "the cursed child". There are at least 86 years between fantastic Beasts and the cursed child. So nobody from the fantastic beasts films would appear in the cursed child because they would be either too old or already dead. Also I saw Albus Dumbledore in the trailer. I am pretty sure that he died in the Harry Potter films. So he can't be alive again in the cursed child.
I'm actually shocked they haven't made another story where Harry is a teacher at Hogwarts where his kid or kids now attend.

As someone who sat through the play of cursed child I’ll say the story sucks but god it’s a freaking awesome show. Literally seeing huge streams of fire emanating from wands, dueling, watching the time turner work in person (probably the most impressive effect) and watching dementors fly above your head- it’s bonkers. They couldn’t do a movie of it. Too many plot holes and the whole thing is magical on stage. This trailer this person put together is interesting but has nothing to do with the narrative lol

It would be seriously incredible if they revisit the world in another 10-15 years or so with the same cast. It's still too early imo. It's a universe that has so much depth and potential to create never ending stories. If you ever get a chance, go and see the Harry potter play in Melbourne, Australia. I wasn't even a potter fan but I took my wife (She likes live plays). It was bloody awesome. It is run over two days. Some of the magic they do on a live stage is just.. wow. Excellent effects. It's set in the future, and is based mainly around Harry potter and drako's kids. You will not regret seeing it, I can tell you.

A Tv series called "Hogwarts" that follows a young Lily, James, Snape, Pettigrew, Sirius and Lupin and whomever else from the sorting hat (or before prefacing the friendship between snape and lily) right up until Voldemort walks into Godric's Hollow amd kills Lily and James. Show how Snape joins the death eaters, pettigrew selling them out, you name it. This idea has been brewing in my mind for a decade.

Unfortunately these are the only kinds of movies that can be made now. This is why it's so important to support original stories and new IP's. Take a chance om something unfamiliar before deciding on a marvel movie. I think I can say this for everyone: Cursed Child was an awful creation and most people in the fandom ignore both Cursed Child and the epilogue because they were a disappointment

Unless jk sells the rights to Warner bros I doubt there will ever be a new series of books at least for a sequel, a prequel series with Snape as the anti hero protagonist would be amazing though - and the events leading up to baby Harry deflecting voldemorts spell

It may be possible for the Harry Potter cast to come on board by exceptional promotion to bring that stage play to life as a film. If it occurred, it would focus mainly on the wizard characters' children enjoying their first time at Hogwarts, only with one remaining headmaster and an upcoming curse bound to be destroyed by confidential justice.
Harry wouldn't teach at Hogwarts while his kid was there for SO many reasons. He also I'm sure would want to distance himself from Hogwarts for awhile and explore the outside world.
Eventually however, especially in his older years, I have no doubt he'll at some point teach at Hogwarts...and that this will be made a movie or show or something.

I love Harry Potter, I will die for JKR and will go to the grave with pride in how I dedicated my life to knowing everything about the series … but the cursed child is a nasty stain on the story and is That Book That Shall Not Be Named Or Immortalised In Film Ever.

There's a couple of things that make this trailer look like a fan trailer: It's not very exciting. The "I have some questions for you professor" repeated dialog makes it seem like there's a lack of dialog to use in the trailer.

I felt so sad when I finished the Harry Potter series. I didn't want it to end. When I first saw this I had hope but looking at the comments, I had to realise that It is not true. I just wish they had made another movie or book about Harry's child but then again there would not be much of a story because the Dark Lord is no longer in existance.
A new one is coming in 2022 called the return to Hogwarts

Yeah the cirsed child is soooo bad, like it doesnt even. Make sense, it was better if they didnt release another book or made a play about it and rather just ended the series there in deathly hallows part 2s ending, the characters are just wrongly portrayed and wtf do we have to do with harrys child?! And even if it was about his child, it still should have at least been better
