Getafe is part of the Community of Madrid so it makes sense for Real Madrid to send their players there on loan. Its local, near guarenteed play time to develop and a decent level to perfom in.

Real Madrid has always had a great academy, they prefer to develop for profit but if you are truely a special player they will keep you! Many players need to make a move to develop further!
