You brought up good points. Hope functional patterns reply with valid arguments as well instead of calling names like bonehead and saying vague responses like "I fix people", and "do your research because there are levels to this".
I used to take advice and workouts from Naudi years ago. Did his workout for quite some time. Eventually I moved more towards traditional workouts and ended up buying heavy kettlebells and tried to do his workouts with heavier weights... couldn’t do it, obviously. Switched to hard style kettlebell workouts, and I’ve never looked back. Having done both types of exercises, I can easily say that I’m a good authority on the issue of which style of exercise is more efficient and usable. Hard style kettlebell training has literally transformed my life. I’ve never felt more conditioned and powerful in my life. Plus, hard style kb work has made me better at martial arts. Def more carryover.
@@drossi101 I don’t follow any strict program. Just do a combo of HIIT, heavy and moderate kettlebell complex sets, hard style, calisthenics, and a few barbell compound lifts (mostly overhead presses/jerks, z-presses, and back squats).
It wasn't a debate between Naudi and Brett, Brett explained his research methodology, how research and scientific process is how to gain acceptance for any fitness approach, yet there are some limits to what can be demonstrated in a lab, then Naudi invited him to visit his secret chambers.
It could be argued that the debate would've been better if the presenter and channel was neutral. The secret chambers got to Brett in that case.. ;) - Gregory

"Hard style kettle-bell training is as unsustainable as it gets"! Huh? I'm 57, ripe for injury according to most coaching systems. I've been swinging steel-mace for 3 years, doing hard(ish) style kettlebell training for over 2, Crossfit for 18 months and now heavy clubs for 4 or 5 months and never had a serious injury. My typical week is a two handed club (25lbs approx 11kgs) and KB session in the morning (20kg), 6 days a week (1 club exercise, a KB ballistic and KB grind exercise using volume cycles of so many reps per min for 10 increasing to 20 mins per exercise over time - so around 50 mins on average for all 3). On light days I then do 3 different single hand club exercises (15lb club, about 6.5kgs) over another 30 mins, on hard days I do a 1hr session at my local Crossfit box. OK so I have a bit of trouble with Golfer's elbow and last week I glanced the horn of a kettlebell off the inside of my knee during a snatch leaving me with a bruise but my back is fine, my hips are fine, I'm squatting deeper than I have for years, I'm lifting heavier both in the gym and day to day jobs and the knee pain which was troubling me a year or two ago is gone. I've lost around 10kg weight over all, and more fat as I have definitely built muscle. Could it be any more sustainable?
I didn't understand your technique because I didn't know some singularities of sport kettlebell. But I do now. I agree, some exercises are not meant for weights. I train with bells for over 11 years, but hardstyle only. I with you on this one😉 all the way
"He doesn't understand my style". Exactly, my dude. That, combined with a product he's trying to shill and an ego the size of the Hindenburg, and you get Naudi in a nutshell. Arguing with him is like playing chess with a pigeon; doesn't matter how well you play, he's just gonna sh!t on the board and say he won.
Oh my God... that is just a host of red flags there. Man! You know what? If I was a head of functional patterns, I could have approached it with humility, even thanked you for it. Then what's next? So, when you say “show me the research reference to back up your claims and I’m open to reading it ...” there’s the opportunity to give a link to the research paper ... not tell you ... “do your own research on our system.” If you believe so highly in your system, and it’s backed by research (other than your own) I would ‘think’ you’d actually HAVE the research handy to show to people who critique you ... unless, of course, there isn’t any 😂
That's what I was thinking. A quick google search gave me a a great study of how exercise can have an impact on people with neurodegenerative-disorder. Citing research only from your own system without peer-reviewed or independent material is a huge red flag in evidence-based coaching. - Gregory
@@lebe-stark Ironically, the "neuro-degenerative disorder" that he first mentions, CP or Cerebral Palsy, isn't degenerative at all, it's congenital and does not worsen with age. But that's not surprising considering how much of a disdain he has for science and research.
