The reason they connect the stator and rotor in series is to keep them in sync with the alternating current so the magnetic field is always pushing in the same direction. If it were connected in parallel the rotor wouldn't turn and it would buzz loudly with AC

But the stator is also connected to AC as well, it won't necessarily buzz, the only reason why it's connected in series is to generate higher torque as I have seen in a research, so no it's not accurate to say it will buzz otherwise even the field windings are also connected to AC, it's because even the direction of the magnetic field of the field also flip with the magnetic field of the armature windings according to the current flip as well, whether it's parallel or series it will still spin.

But in a washing machine, it's neither connected in series or parallel, the motor field and armature windings are actually connected separately to the relays in the PCB so that the spinning direction of the motor is reversible.

why phase meter screwdriver's lamp lightens up when touch the frame while motor is running on 220v ac?

Thank you for this video. It has helped me with a project requiring low RPM and high torque. I have used the motor to drive a small industrial sewing machine and it been successful in doing what I required. My only problem is the arcing that occurs across the terminals of the foot switch. The arcing occurs when the switch is released. I'm thinking it is because of a back EMF that is induced by the motor. I tried a capacitance and resistance snubber circuit with no success. I guessed the values of the components. Have you any advice?

I've always wanted to get into one of those!

@@ATLabENG yeah because the Armature from that motor I think is really cool!

I have a washing machine motor and it has only 3 wires.how should i wire it.?

Only three wires is most probably a thre phase motor.. you have to use an inverter, please check my channel to see the inverter circuit
