Thank you, thank you for another great video regarding the world of sports cards! You can enter the Mil. Brewers stadium 1 hour before the game starts to watch batting or infield practice. I asked the same question on X. Also Card Collector 2 throw out the 1st of the game on Tuesday.

The Bichette sale price has to do with his lackluster season. They picked a bad time to sell it.

7:42 mostly to do with Bichette having a down season. Bad move on the seller. He bought at the wrong time and sold at the wrong time. And yes, PSA should’ve included red wave, but I don’t think that had too much bearing on the sale price.

The psa vault is open to all graded cards. They took over eBay's vault so it's now all under the psa vault.

I wish Topps would add more players from the 50’s and 60’s to their autograph checklists throughout their sets. There are a bunch of guys in their 80s and a handful in their 90s still signing through the mail. I think a lot of people would enjoy finding an old timer auto, even if it was just a bench or bullpen guy.

There is definitely a black market for high end sports cards...but nobody is paying extra and very few cards are sold that way. Most stolen sports cards just get cracked from the slab, regraded and sold. No way to catch them as long as there isnt something super obvious to id the card (like writing). The 52 Mantles are common enough that you would never be caught. Maybe a few cards from the prewar era are rare enough you couldnt regraded them and have to sell on the black market.

22:22 would imagine they don’t have to pay fees and then taxes of those cards at end of year if they buy them stolen. Dont know if that is true and can’t stand people getting cards stolen from them.

Let me get this straight...PSA will accept a fake card with a real auto and grade the auto, but not accept a real card with a fake sticker auto and grade the card? Is PSA saying they are more of an auto grading company than a card grading company?

Adding a fake auto to a card will make the card altered and psa doesn't do authentic alerted for a designation.
I wasn’t aware a removable sticker made a card altered, but if so I see your point.
@michaelhuene561 there's no way to remove the tape without damaging the surface so either way it would be altered. Tape or any sticker added after would fall under that foreign substance rule. Even if it wasn't autographed, adding anything would fall under that category and would be sent back instead of graded because they don't do the authentic altered label. Same as the min size crap they pull.

Well, I am bored and have some time, so I figured I will leave my 2 cents on a few things.....
Video Responses -
Topps Exchange - why are you applauding Topps? Panin (who I can't stand even more) has essentially been doing this with their Black and White Boxes for a few years. Took Topps forever to copy the idea.
Bo Bichette - the card sold less because Bichette is having a horrible year. The title of the listing is more than adequate, it filled the space with key words, and while one could argue what was used, they weren't wasted words. The use of "Red Wave" isn't necessary when there are so many other words that are appropriate and anyone can see by the picture or in the listing that it is a Red Wave and if not, then they probably shouldn't be buying it anyway. Personally I would have left out "Draft Picks" and included "Red Wave" but I don't see a big issue with how it was listed.
Autographed Fake/Reprint/Non-Authentic Cards - If you know how PSA does it, it isn't hard to know what you are looking at, whether it be an authentic card or not, although, I can see how someone new to the hobby might have issues. My view, however, is if you are new to the hobby, or any hobby, you shouldn't just be jumping in without doing your research and knowing what you are buying. It is kind of like the idiots who are buying these fake old pre-war cards that were "found at an estate sale" that look pretty decent in an eBay auction, but of course we all know they are fake. However, people can't help but spend $800-1,100 hoping to get a $10,000-30,000 card for nothing. Those of us who have been around know what to look for and we know those are all scams and what wording in certain listings, where it be eBay or Facebook marketplace, etc. is used to trick people. Point being, don't be stupid, do your research before buying. Learn the hobby. In the case of this Magic card, you are buying the autograph, not necessarily and authentic card that is autographed. If they wanted an authentic card that was signed, then they should have gotten one that was graded or authenticated. The only thing here that is authenticated is the autograph, so you have to assume the card isn't real.
Medical Tape Autographs - I would like to know where those medical tape cards came from. Like, was it just someone being funny, maybe making fun of sticker autos, or was it some Facebook Marketplace or eBay listing where someone was trying to sell them in a lot or something. As for PSA, if they did anything, other than down right rejecting via some code and send them back, I would think they wouldn't do anything with the signatures since they are not real, and maaaybe grade the cards as altered, lol. Would be interesting to find out. That would make for a funny video, you should try it!! Bet it would get some views haha.
Leaf Rickey Henderson - Leaf has had a history over the last several years of not selling for nearly what Panini and Topps cards sell for. But I have seen several Rickey Henderson cards from this new product they have out that have been selling for what seems like a ton. A lot of the Rickey's have been inscribed "Man of Steal" and the cards look pretty good. Leaf does a lot of things right, if only they had licensing, but I tell ya what, they have some great looking cards (not all of them) and it's a much cheaper way to get some autos of expensive guys for less, as well as guys you don't find in other products. One thing I wish is that their minor league baseball patches were all game used. They have so many sick pieces, but they are all player worn junk.
Game Stop Messi - not cheap publicity. They probably just have a million of those sticker packs at all their stores and need to sell them, haha. The store near me still has basketball sticker packs from like 2 years ago!
Oregon Card Theft - their research for the article included looking on eBay at listed prices for PSA 9's and 10's in order to value the cards. Or that's just how the guy values his cards. lol
Black Market - the thrill? With art, it might be that the piece is and never will be for sale, but with a card, like a 1952 Mantle, they are available, you may just have to wait. But to pay more on the black market for one that is stolen might bring the tingles for some rich people, who knows.

Regarding the medical sticker question, psa policy Should reject those. The auto only policy conflicts with psa's own stadards, hence the confusion among consumers.
- Real card (psa) & fake auto (dna) - rejected, no encapsulation
- Fake/altered card (psa) & real auto (dna) - rejected, no encapsulation

@JunkWaxHero if psa is reviewing the card, a fake will be rejected. If psa isn't involved (only psa/dna), fakes can get passed, and encased.

I have had buyers complain about the 2023 Bowman’s Best refractors as well due to the limited refraction of the card. Corners being cut I suppose? The best one is bringing back the 1999 All Etch insert without etching. Fanatics is certainly something.

Unless those vintage collectors have alottttt of money to throw away. No one should be paying those panini prices on chrome this year. All people that are buying are going to do is give topps the green light to charge more and more and more every release.
The words "trading card" without any set designation are meant to portray that its just the auto. I understand the confusion but that pretty much tells you that the card wasn't authenticated.

People don't realize that wristwatch addiction is a serious problem in our society. I know several people who have lost it all due to their crippling need for the latest in time-telling fashion. Make sure your kids know that trying a wristwatch just one time can lead to a life of crime.

Looks like a red wave to me. Performance not listing is the problem here. And the economy.
It is probably not the largest Cubs collection to be honest. He is very public but that doesn’t make it a record. Not talking trash but this would be a very weak case and I understand their decision.

@@JunkWaxHero no but that doesn’t equate to the record. There are massive Cubs collectors out there.
It is also something that would require documentation to be sure. He is working on cataloguing them on tcdb but for instance my collection has more on there currently. I for sure don’t have more than him but I would assume they don’t just take your word for things.
