I noticed the sidewalks are empty as usual. I am from the UK and when visiting LA and surrounding areas, found that you don't often see people walking the streets, unless downtown or areas with a lot going on. I remember someone sounding so surprised after asking me how I got to the beach at Venice, and I told them I had walked about 3 miles to get there. They looked at me like I was nuts, it was just 3 miles, not 300. Marina Del Ray is a gorgeous area, as are most parts of the coast along LA County.
Absolutely, no one in LA walks. It's such a rare thing to see someone walk. I guess culturally because it's so spread out and you can park right next to the entrance everywhere you go.
