There's been a lot of talk about the Olympics recently, so let's get straight to the best event in the Olympics... coin collecting!
As you probably know, there was a series of coins created by the Royal Australian Mint for the 2020 Olympic Games to be released through Woolworths and into circulation. Now, when the Olympics were postponed for a year, so were the coins. But thankfully like the Olympics, the coins have now been released in 2021. With the Paralympics coin revealed, we can see the whole set of 6 coins together.Beyond just the coins, I wanted to give you some extra details to make hunting for these coins more interesting. There are some errors to look for, and some frequently asked questions, and that's what this video is about.They took a similar approach to the set from the 2016 Olympics. Here are the 6 coins from 2016 compared to the 6 coins released in 2021.You can buy the 6 coins for $3 per coin across 2 different packs. There is a pack with the 5 Olympic Rings for $15 and then a pack with the one Paralympic coin for $3. Both are available from Woolworths and the Mint - but they may not last long.Because the coins were produced for the 2020 Olympics, they have 2020 on them, not 2021, even though they were released into circulation in 2021. As with previous Woolworths releases, the coins are available to receive in change if you pay for your groceries in cash. This is how you can receive the coins at Face Value of $2 each.Alternatively you can buy the sets as I mentioned previously for what works out to $3 per coin. Finally, there are a few errors to keep an eye out for.Bullseye error.First up, with any coloured coin, check the heads side - if the colour is printed on the heads side instead of the tails side, it's called a Bullseye error. There have been bullseye errors found for many of the coloured coins over the years, and at least one has been found for these Olympic coins.Wrong ColourNext, check if the colour is correct - does the colour printed on your coin match the design? There was a coin found back in 2020 with the surfing design from the first/blue coin, but the colour from the 2020 women's cricket coin. The colour from any of the rings could easily be on the wrong coin, so check that the background matches the colour of your coin.Wrong Heads Side Next, there are reports that someone found the wrong heads side on their coin. Each of the six coins should have the special heads side with the "2 Dollars" printed below the Queen's portrait. If not, it's an error.Rotation errorAnd just to be thorough, make sure to check whether there is a rotation error too. That's where the heads side and tails sides are not lined up. You can check my video on rotation errors for more information on this, but just make sure that the head and tails sides are lined up like in the photos (How to Check the heads sides on the pack of 5 coins)If you have bought the pack with the five coins, you can pull the plastic holder with the coins out, and check the heads side without hurting or touching your coins.So there you have it, there are now 6 coins to collect in this series, several errors to check for and 2 different packs to buy, if you want to purchase the coins rather than try and get them in change.Good hunting!

Hi Stussy, it’s only certain coins that are meant to have the “2 Dollars” on the heads side - coins where it’s not on the Tails side design.
The Women’s T20 cricket coin has “Two Dollars” on the tails side, so it should just have the normal heads side, as you describe.
