THANK YOU FOR A GREY HAIR VIDEO! I think this is a hug gap in colour analysis content & education! At 38, I have a relatively even mix of pure white & very dark ashy brown hair... and have been filled with questions about how to adapt me wardrobe & make up as my hair evolves, since it takes up so much visual space. I don't know if this answered all my questions but it helped & I'd love to see more content!
You gals need to know you've created a bit of a monster. I find myself noticing everyone's unique colors, and attempting to analyze where they fit in based on what I have learned from you. It's been so much fun to see people's varied personal colors from this fresh perspective. Many thanks! 💕
I used to cringe about this topic. Now, I am learning and having fun with it. I am going to the thrift store to have some more fun. Well, that is after I watch more of your great content. Thanks, ladies!🌸V
First off, THANK YOU for doing this topic. I have Sarah Jessica Parker’s coloring, complete with the gray sort of s&p on top and long, warm brown lowlights on bottom. I agree with Lucinda that SJParker is growing her color out and is just owning it rather than color correcting it. I think once you’re invested in growing out your gray pattern, you’re naturally reluctant to add more color, especially if you’ve never really seen your true gray pattern and aren’t sure what you’re dealing with. I also agree with Sara that the ombré is trending but honestly I believe it’s because so many of us started growing out during covid and it looks kind of cool so it caught on. Great video ladies! I love it.
Love you guys! Maybe we need to look at various photos of the one person, even when they were a bit younger, because most of them have dyed hair and fake tan. Even the grey hair gets warmed up by dye. I think many celebs push themselves into being warm.
I would love to send y’all a picture of myself and tell me once and for all what I am. I was a natural dark auburn brunette before turning salt and pepper.
silver grey can wear hot pink, magenta, plum, blues. I wish I could find more tops in these colors. its so much fun to wear color these days. new lipsticks are a blast.
You are basing everything off hair color when you have to take eye color and skin into account. What you refer to as "silvery grey" is not a universal color.
Great class. My hair was gray white except for dark blondish around my face. So weird. And it clashed with my light skin and light blue eyes. I'm now "white chocolate".lol 😎
Please make more videos about silver/gray/white hair. My most flattering colors have changed as I’ve aged. I was golden blonde as a child, darkening to a cool-leaning dark brown as a teen. In my early fifties, some of my hair is pure white and the rest is medium golden brown. My skin is a light neutral so when my hair changed from coolish to warmish the undertone of my best colors also switched. The one thing that hasn’t changed is that I’ve always been a high contrast, clear person. I feel like I’ve switched from a Clear Winter to a Bright Spring. Is it possible to switch to a soft when your hair is fully gray/white? Would I then be a Soft Summer?
sjp, it is not a statement. It is I am growing out my natural hair and don't want to put any more chemicals on it. Many of us women have been or are there in the process. I had that ombre of gray and blonde.
I am really excited because you’ve explained something that really makes sense to me now. I have always loved wearing a leopard print turtle neck top/skivvy. Now I know why. It is because my hair is the exact same colour Mousey beige and my eyes are very dark brown. And these are the dominant colours in the print. I also went to my wardrobe and picked out the few dark chocolate brown items and mouse beige garments I had and Vwalah they suit more than everything else. Thank you very much for making me see the reason behind this. It is a great help. From western australia
Mama said she had banana boat oil with spf 8 😂 I was like...Mama! She grew up in the Savanah GA sun and vacationing in FL lol I'm shocked honestly that she doesn't have more sun damage. Sunscreen info started coming out in 88-91 so in that period she had me and I 100% grew up slathered in baby Sunscreen ❤ thank you Mom.
I would say Tilda Swinton is a cool redhead (as much as redheads are cool). Her natural hair was strawberry blond hair before it went white. She is a style chameleon, you can find photos of her with platinum blonde hair and she definitely looks like a summer. I do think that Whoopi Goldberg is cool - like you said her natural lip color is more blue and her red tones are more cool red tones. Love your system, it's so helpful!
Tilda’s hair is exactly like mine for coloring. It is a yellow white warm warm if that makes sense. I still have golden streaks in my hair and it’s still kinda dark underneath. But the top looks just like hers. My skin and eyes look just like hers. I haven’t colored my hair since 2014 so it’s just the way our hair does its own thing. I have said for 20+ years that I am a calico. I have black strands, brown strands, golden strands, and yellow white strands. Three years ago my hair was silver gray from stress. When the stress left, I went yellow white.
I loved your Shades of Gray video. I am silver gray like sliver jewelry but my skin is "peaches and cream", and I always liked fall colors in the Autumn class but in a paler shades.. I bought a raincoat which is very light peach color and my skin blends in perfectly to it. But here is the problem my eye color is pure turquoise green. I don't wear foundation because they do not make peaches and cream foundation color. I can't war ivory it makes me look pale and sick.. So my hair color is very cool but my skin tone is pale warm tone. So do I go with the hair for clothes color or my skin tone?? My eyebrows are very pale silvery light brown and disappear.. I thought of dyeing them but don't know what color they should be?? I love your show.. Your daughter is me ,without the warm reddish hair. Oh buy the way I always wear peach lipstick. Do a show on Silver Hair!!! Help!!! Lynda
I think that color g your hair can be hard. Sometimes by the face it won’t take the color and colored hair can feel bad and look very dry. I think Sarah Jessica Parker, while a fashion icon, is also pragmatic. I think she has decided to age gracefully and naturally.
Just a suggestion here: this color analysis in real life is really helpful, but maybe you gals should use more images to compare or use less photoshopped photos? Thank you for your videos, very interesting to watch!
Agreed. Hard to evaluate a celebrity like Jane Fonda, her grey isn’t even natural and she has a ton of makeup on. I agree at I’d love to see someone evaluated with no makeup and natural grey hair.
Looking forward to another episode on greying hair. I am almost 71 (😱) and always had strawberry blonde hair till grey started appearing. Now my hair has turned a more ashy color, and many people think my grey strands are highlights. I am pretty sure I was considered a Spring, and I know that I have a warm skintone and green eyes. It's disconcerting to have cool hair color now, and I'm never quite sure what colors I should be wearing, so I mainly wear black.
I am also a natural strawberry blonde with green eyes. My gray hair does not have strands. It is pure ivory/platinum blonde. I have no visible gray strands. I am at a loss as to what to do with makeup, glasses, etc.
I was rather confused by this, because they had all something done with their looks. It was difficult for me to see, what was artificial and what was real. But perhaps it doesn't matter?
I disagree about Tilda, she is the epitome of summer to me. The bad hair color job doesn't change her cool/light nature. But she should get that hair color toned.
She's a natural redhead like me. My gray hair is the exact same color as hers, please do not call it a bad color job. Even my hairdresser said she thought it looked like I toned. it. I am a light spring, and light springs often lean neutral.
@@tssmjs1279 I"m a natural strawberry blonde like her. My gray hair is the EXACT same color as hers. Mine is not a wig, it's not a bad color job, and it's not toned. There is absolutely no roots, or gray, or strands of white or brown. It is pure ivory blonde.
My gray hair is exactly like Tilda Swinton, and I am a light spring with green eyes. Like her, I was born a natural pale redhead. It is NOT bleached out, I did NOT add any yellow whatsoever, and no one believes me. There is NO brown or any salt and pepper in it whatsoever. There are NO roots. It completely matches my brows and lashes. it is PURE ivory blonde, with no white or brown for contrast. And I am at a LOSS as to how to do make up and glasses. Obviously I have no contrast. But if I add a little brown to my brows and al ittle mascara, doesn't that look bad?
Well, I've watched 2 times. Still don't get it. I'm salt and pepper. Wear no make-up. 65 years old , I have rosacea, and blue eyes. I don't know what to wear. Mainly white tees .
What did you wear? I would suggest green colour corrector in a primer to deal with rosacea and then try T shirts in bright cool colours in the changing rooms. I had dark brown hair and am now salt and pepper and finally rock red and pink lipstick. I look better in black and white and red and plum, navy and green (eye colour) but I can also go soft with the makeup, spec frames with cooler pinks as long as they aren’t muted.
I also like the idea of breaking the rules to create contrast in outfits. I would forget the words and look at their video on blues and see which ones you are intuitively drawn to and then find some items n your closet and style them with other items. Mix it up with cheaper lipsticks to get started. I favour a no makeup makeup look but wear eyeliner now to create definition which we lose with age. I like navy or ash liner on the top lid only with black mascara and always lipstick because I need the colour there too.
Loved your content but had to unsubscribe due to the character of the women you used in the thumbnail. Sorry but I can’t support hateful divisive celebrities that abuse their platforms.
You two make so much more sense than my mother’s old book from the 80’s!
Lucinda, you look great in mid tone colors vs. the pale shades!

So happy to see you guys back with a new video format. I’m enjoying these classes SO much. Thank you. ❤
Our pleasure!
Enhancing a little bit" is a perfect way to look at it!

SJP was Carrie from SITC. It’s definitely how she wants it.
I agree 😊

Where do you find colors swatches for these color groups?

Same. My Mom was the same way. And I grew up with sunscreen and I grew up in the south and I STILL got sun cancer.

Left hand pic statement! Middle - just being herself, same with right pic
Hi ladies! What's the difference between soft and warm? 😊❤
The choices would be between warm versus cool, and soft versus clear.
Just a suggestion here: this color analysis in real life is really helpful, but maybe you gals should use more images to compare or use less photoshopped photos? Thank you for your videos, very interesting to watch!
I think it would be neat if they used photos sent in by subscribers.
Agreed. Hard to evaluate a celebrity like Jane Fonda, her grey isn’t even natural and she has a ton of makeup on. I agree at I’d love to see someone evaluated with no makeup and natural grey hair.
These actresses all have colored hair and makeup for photography. How can you correctly analyze them by these photographs.
Hi! Shouted you out on my channel last week. This video is so helpful!

So what season is diane keaton?
Autumn
I misunderstood and thought you were doing greys, whites and silvers for each of the dominant characteristics 😂
Same. 😅
I was rather confused by this, because they had all something done with their looks. It was difficult for me to see, what was artificial and what was real. But perhaps it doesn't matter?
I have warm skin like Jane Fonda with white hair. My skin color is natural but looks unnatural against my hair.
I have the same issue. I don't wear makeup or color my hair
I hate that every time I color my hair there comes red and it looks horrible on me because I am cool
The older lady on the left has eye frames the color the younger woman should be wearing.
I disagree about Tilda, she is the epitome of summer to me. The bad hair color job doesn't change her cool/light nature. But she should get that hair color toned.
It's pretty sure her hair is a wig
