I really appreciate your approach. I've considered myself a "Summer" since the 80's. It's obvious that I look bad in warm colors! Later, I got confused between Cool Summer and Soft Summer (maybe because I'm going grey?). I have hazel green eyes with an amber ring in the center -- another confusing element. There's something about "Soft, Cool, and Medium" that just feels straightforward and correct.
I like the way you do this. I have black eyes , cool skin and light brown hair with red highlights which is now going greyish blonde . So I have never fitted into the season method. I look best in muddy colours and you explain why. ❤
Thank you. I’ve gone gray twice before, and since all my clothing colors were off, I redid my dark hair. Okay, this is my third time growing it out (I’m a masochist). But in the meantime, I’ve spent lots of time studying color palettes. I think I’m a little on the warmish side, which explains my problems. This presentation was very helpful. As an artist,I appreciate your approach.
I love pinks, blues, reds, orange and have learned to love back and use colors for accessories. I’m a silver gray, almost white in the front and darker as you move to the back of my head, light skin and hazel eyes. Dark brown. I feel lost on what colors look good on me. I used to know when I was dying my hair blond but now I am definitely a light
You would not be light. You have darker hair and hazel eyes. So, although technically you would be light, I would put you in medium. You should truly consider a color analysis with us. This is what we do and we can help you get your color palette. yourcolorstyle.com/pages/online-color-analysis
I have blue-gray eyes, light skin that looks a bit pinkish, freckles, and gray hair that seems to have a yellowish cast to it. I had reddish-brown hair when I was younger. I do not look good in pastels or soft colors-I wear mostly black because it is a safe color. I've never been able to find a lipstick that looks good on me, so I have pale lips-everyone always told me, "You should wear lipstick."
I used to be way more peachy skin toned than I am now. Thanks to years of meds that make me photosensitive, I've more mauvey/greyed light alabaster. My eyes have even moved to more jade green from green with amber centers. Originally I had golden-red brown hair 6.5 darkness level. Now the brown is medium, in the back, I'm probably 25% grey, but I have 75% in the front and the sides are close to 100%. I used to look radiant in mustard yellow and sallow in denim blue. Now I think I've faded into a soft autumn but all the colors that are neutral are the ones listed to never wear with gray hair!
Hello! I just discovered you. I am in my 60s and my hair is mostly silver but my original hair colour was described as mouse/ brown - and it was bone straight - and I looked best with light blonde highlights - my lip colour is similar to yours and my eyes are hazel (German/Irish/French background). I have mild rosacea and my skin would have a tendency to initially turn red before developing a tan (when I was younger and failed to apply sunscreen). In spite of your thorough and technical explanations I can’t figure out if I am in the light zone or the medium zone. Where’s does that put me? (I apologize if you have already mentioned it in previous videos.) Thanks in advance.
You've darkened that much? And... your undertones never change. Brightness doesn't have anything to do with whether you are warm or cool. If you are cool before, you are cool now. Your hair may have softened... if that's what you mean?
I have yellow undertone skin - grey hair and dark eyebrows ( originally dark blonde) - I fund it so hard to choose colour now- what would I be? It would be so very helpful. Tend to choose silver / grey/white/navy/black. Thank you
You would benefit from a color analysis with us. This is what we specialize in. We customize a color palette based on colors that may not suit you as you gray. Please consider it: yourcolorstyle.com/pages/online-color-analysis
After listening to your info, I finally decided what I am. I am 72yo with 3/4 head of bright silver hair. Hair used to be so brown was almost black I believe I was a cool winter with very light olive skin and green eyes. I am now a cool (soft) summer! If the color has white in it, it looks nice near my face. Yellows and green only accentuate the yellow and green in my skin. Could that be right? Thank you for all your help.
I don't know seasons. YCS is not seasonal color analysis. In YCS, it sounds like you are bright and cool. Probably medium. You can get the BCM color fan here: yourcolorstyle.com/collections/color-fans/products/mini-bright-cool-medium-color-fan-bundle
I used to have sable colored hair with red high lights. But now my hair is silver and dark gray. My eyes are hazel . Blue /green and brown. I'm not sure if I'm warm or neutral.
I’m 63 and my hair is still predominantly warmer brown with only about 5% white. The problem is that the white hair is in the front left side of my face. What to do? I’m a Soft. Thanks
Good news, your color palette doesn't change. But you may discover that white can be more flattering even though you are soft and warm. If you need more advice on a customized color palette, please consider a color analysis with us. yourcolorstyle.com/collections/color-analysis
I honestly don’t know how to answer that. Your color style isn’t seasonal color analysis. I encourage you to check out our quiz and find your color type in Your Color Style. It’s a lot easier to understand and flexible to accommodate your unique tones. yourcolorstyle.com/quiz
I can try and answer since I know what cool winter is. So you are still cool, dominantly so (because cool winter). I would imagine that would already go perfectly with white hair, which would likely be a silvery white. She says brighter colours would look better anyway. So in general I believe that colour season can just carry on wearing what they were wearing before.
There’s always makeup. I have three foundations, one is neutral, one is warm and one is cool. I mostly wear black and navy blue since I gained weight. I definitely don’t wear bright colors in any shade. I hate yellow.
I have worn warm tone clothes all my adult life and always looked great.... now, my hair is just basically WHITE ! I Do NOT want to buy new clothes ! I guess I will add scarves that are a lighter and brighter..... I have topaz brown eyes that have always SPARKLED ! comments ???
I highly recommend you read my book Great With Gray which help you learn the colors to keep and some you may want to not wear now. Your undertones did not change. yourcolorstyle.com/pages/color-analysis-books

Same - neutral!

Excellent advice and examples. Thank you.
You're very welcome!

Great presentation. Really helpful. Wish I had caught this live.
I found this video very helpful. I kind of knew some of these concepts at the gut level, but your explanations made it understandable. Much thanks!
Great to hear!
Thanks, from Australia.

Yes I seem to have gone fom light to dark and bright to cool

In doubt? Go for medium colors and be careful with earthy colors!

So if you are a cool winter you are still a cool winter but wearing bright colors is too harsh? Less harmonious?

I'm salt and pepper!

"undertones" Are you talking about skin or hair?
This is way toooooo complicated
Too much yapping not enough showing
