Cacciamani was my fav collegiate Middle blocker 😍 not only was she hitting in the front she also hit from the back row and that's what makes her an all around player
Long Beach made history, very iconic match!!
This match is a gem, you have one of the best setters ever in collegiate history the legend and Olympian MISTY MAY! She converted from an outside hitter to setting at Long Beach. I really wish I would have seen her on the national team as a setter. I also wish I would have seen Cacciamani on the national team as well. She is a gem as well! This is a great between Penn State! Thank you for posting the full match!!!
lauren cacciamani is an absolute beast!

Volleyball players back then had a lot of issues with their technical form in passing and hitting. They would not be able to play well against modern players.
😂😂😂 sit down somewhere…the evolution of volleyball was paved from volleyball players like these
You do realize that 3 time Olympic gold medalist Misty May was on this Long Branch team, right? She won gold with Kerri Walsh like 15 years after this..
Today the serving and athleticism of the players is definitely better, but back then everyone was an all around player and could do every skill at a good level. I mean, can you imagine Rettke or any other dominant middle blocker trying to play 3 rotations in the back?
🤣🤣 It’s actually the other way around. Today’s players are often too specialized
