I am a South African. I've been watching a lot of videos of the Clark sisters and the Sheards. Thank you Bishop for letting your son follow his dreams. Some parents always want their children to do what they want and that is making their kids prisoners. Parents free your children, let them make mistakes, let them be kids. Some Pastors kids grow up hating church because it was enforced while they were growing up. One pastor's child here in S Africa told me "give me a break I grew up eating a dummy ( pacifier) behind the pulpit" so I had enough of church. Even though she is religious, well grounded and goes to church, church is not that much of a priority.

We are totally afraid of letting our children experiment in other areas outside of the church. Train up a child scripture is becoming clear. Sometimes we lose our children in this type of situation because we hold them down and causes them to rebel. Dad gave guidelines and instructions before he let him venture out. I love this!!!

Thank you for this discussion. My husband is a biocational pastor. We served as youth Pastor’s for over 25 years before my husband was installed as Senior Pastor. When we talked to our 3 adult daughters, our babygirl response was will you still have time for the family. I thought that was so profound even with my daughter being an adult, she was concerned about family time. Of course, my husband response was we will ALWAYS have time for family. We're a year and a half in this position and even in this Pandemic we have spent several hours on zoom ☺ But I love this realness. We need to hear this often from people who are in leadership.

I am a South African. I've been watching a lot of videos of the Clark sisters and the Sheards. Thank you Bishop for letting your son follow his dreams. Some parents always want their children to do what they want and that is making their kids prisoners. Parents free your children, let them make mistakes, let them be kids. Some Pastors kids grow up hating church because it was enforced while they were growing up. Thank you for this discussion. My husband is a biocational pastor. We served as youth Pastor’s for over 25 years before my husband was installed as Senior Pastor. When we talked to our 3 adult daughters, our babygirl response was will you still have time for the family. I thought that was so profound even with my daughter being an adult, she was concerned about family time. Of course, my husband response was we will ALWAYS have time for family. We're a year and a half in this position and even in this Pandemic we have spent several hours on zoom ☺ But I love this realness. We need to hear this often from people who are in leadership.
