13 inch M4 is my only device. Got rid of my MacBook though sometimes I feel like I need one though it’s more out of habit than anything else. I edit photos and videos. I do Real estate so I don’t really need production to look like a marvel movie. I’m also a faciities manager so I use it to draw apartment layouts, teaching, reports, inspections, ect. I will say this you can do everything I just mentioned on an IPAD air and if I had the choice to do it over, i would go with the 13 inch air or m2 pro. Thank you for the great review! Is this the nano texture or glossy display? And if it’s the glossy display, do you like it when working outdoors and also when using the Apple Pencil?
I was considering upgrading either my MacBook Pro or my iPad this year and the top heaviness of the iPad/Magic Keyboard combo is disconcerting. I love all the pros, the features are great, but I’m worried about the unstableness of it when in use. Would you think it’s a dealbreaker?
Great video as always. I used to often shop at Beats after college when I was back in North Devon. 🤙 I’ve got a 13” 2018 iPad Pro. It’s still speedy for TH-cam, web browsing and other menial tasks. It will get iPadOS 18 but won’t be getting much of the latest Apple Intelligence features. The new iPad Pro looks amazing, especially the OLED screen, but I can’t justify the price right now!
this ipad has a great screen, but does it affect your eyes? what is your experience with it? i'm going to buy one for myself, but i'm a little worried about the pwm
Love your videos. Can I suggest superimposing the price of the iPad, pencil, and keyboard onto the corner of the screen? That way, when you talk about something fundamental that’s a problem (wobbly screen, software limitations) we can judge for ourselves if it’s really a big deal or not. For me, I don’t think some of those flaws are acceptable - no matter how big an Apple fan I am - not for the money they’re asking.
I enjoyed this review! Also loved your photos, and you, and whoever helped, nailed it when shooting this video. I haven't yet bought the iPad Pro, but I'm 99% sure I'm going to be buying one before this fall. I'm a photographer, soon to be videographer, and a college student. I do have an incredibly powerful laptop with a (decently) color accurate screen, but it has awful battery life and I have to always have it plugged in. The iPad wouldn't be able to 100% replace my laptop (I'm a computer science major, so I have to have programs not supported on iPad OS, or sometimes even Mac OS). Though it cannot replace my laptop, it will be an amazing tool for taking notes, doing general assignments, editing my photos (and doubling as an oversized camera monitor when shooting lol), hopefully editing some videos, finally learning to draw, and so much more. I just wish the options I want didn't total up to ~ $2,400.

There's still so much friction inside of ipadOS it's such a shame because the hardware is absolutely first class! It could easily replace a desktop save for a few software shortcomings
Apple stated there it is not a replacement device, it is complementary. Which is logical as why would Apple want to compete with their own devices in a cut-throat computing market? It would be dumb business. So, you either work with that precept or accept that an iPad will never be a 100% replacement for a laptop.
Thank you for the great review! Do you like the glossy display when working outdoors and also when using the Apple Pencil? If the cost is not an issue, would you have opt to get the nano texture display?
Hey mate. I watched your video yesterday and couldn’t get one bit out of my head which was the iPad wobble when typing. I have tried it on every surface I have in my house and it objectively way sturdier than the previous model. You either have a defective Magic Keyboard or were on an uneven surface. The iPad is so still it was one of the first things I noticed.
That screen flexing when you write on it actually makes me want to question if it is going to hold up in the long run or what problems it might create.
I really wish they'd fix the annoyances in iPadOS, and add the missing features to the apps. My new iPad Pro has superior hardware to my macbook air in every way, but most things are just so much easier to do in macOS and with the macOS versions of apps. I'm thinking of using something like Jump to remote into my iMac to fill those gaps. Fantastic hardware, but so often let down by the software.
