- Mr J in the UK, that's me, and Lydiaw96 once again brave the elements to see one of the best singer songwriters of our generation leave his "humble" abode for his Symphonica performance at the Royal Albert Hall.
Mr Michael, if you happen to see this, thank you for not calling the cops. You're a top fella. Also thanks for signing a couple of CDs for me too.
George loved his fans...better fans than paparazzi (the real enemy). He was a sweet person and very humble. To say these people bothered him is ridiculous. 💔
Yes, he loved his fans but hated the press. They were always doctoring the photos and stories of him. He was like an open book on the Michael Parkinson chats and revealed how he had to cope with the constant negativity that was thrown at him by the press. The press went too far!
One day I would love to visit this beautiful country and George’s home.

For all of you saying "he must have hated this and how do you know he didn't hate it" if you're a true fan you'd know that he's stated countless times that his fans were really respectful, especially in the UK. The media was more a bother according to him but he even shook them off! The fact he chose the Highgate and Goring homes are indicators that you all mind more than him! He's a multimillionaire and could've moved to any more private gated home where ppl wouldn't have such access. These ppl were respectful and he respected his fans. They kept tbeir distance, they didn't run up on him, he's headed to a show and didn't have time for personal pics but posed for one, and they were grateful. You all complaining and being negative are the assholes, not George and not these fans

Micah B Totally agree with you. If he really had his own choice about his privacy I suspect he would have lived in the country gated and no one allowed in until he said so. A huge pond and lots of land to enjoy. But he was so special, such a special and talented man that he probably just decided to make a compromise. Live semi-secluded and this was perfect place outside the gate for a quick picture and some time to spend with his fans. This one was quick of course he was in a hurry. But I think he loved his fans as much as we loved him and shared as much as he could with us and still have a beautiful home and be able to enjoy his life on his own terms as much as was humanly possible.
Tormented to an early death by his selfishly obsessed, suffocating 'fans'.

How do you know what he minded? The poor guy was harassed every time he stepped outside by annoying gnats, i mean fans. How irritating and intrusive

Yes, I'm sure I'd find it very irritating and intrusive, but again as he said himself, you just learn to accept that as part and parcel of normal life if you're lucky enough to become famous, but it's a price worth paying. And to answer the first line of your comment, I worked for George for over eight years managing his personal security. You would have to be a fool to work so closely to someone and *not* get to pick up on their likes and dislikes.

You were so blessed to work for such a lovely man. I am sure you saw his bad sides as well. We all have them. But he did seem to have a special place in his heart for his loyal fans. We will all miss him so much!

It amazes me how George lived up n town area with close neighbors, thought he would live in secluded area with more privacy like other famous super stars. He was really down to earth. he was just e you f a kind genius artist, one the most beautiful singing voices ever. RIP George Michael, you’re gone will. ever be forgotten.

I really enjoyed this video. It showed George so relaxed and happy around his fans. And the excitement of the fans was lovely to see, I would have been the same. It didn't look like it bothered George in the slightest in fact he looked as if he enjoyed it.
Just leave them be, they are now one of the lucky ones to see George Michael. Good on them. Famous people will expect this and those who don't like it, then don't be famous.

It was great, his fans camped out there, and George parked his car right out there too,, some I read he ordered drinks for them, That is why when he passed, his home was full of flowers. Fans loved him, because He loved them too💞💐

I don't mind seeing the rich and famous rockers in concert, but I would never bother them. I certainly wouldn't want absolute strangers hanging around my house all the time, and I don't think they relish it either, although he was rather gracious.

ranlive1 I agree! He was a private person but also said that he understands that he will be famous and ppl will act accordingly. He said that he really never had a huge issue with fans in the UK and they have always been pretty respectful. I think he was mobbed way more by fans and the paparazzi in the states. That's just how they do over here in the U.S. They don't care if you're at a funeral, they will bombard you. Yes he definitely could have bought homes where fans couldnt get so close.

julie miller ppl weren't really an issue for him in th UK. He often said how respectful his fans were over there. He could've chosen any type of secluded gated home he wanted but didn't, which is why he selected the homes he did.

I love George been a fan for 20yrs but any fan who understood the guy will know he was seriously into his privacy. This was just a bit lame, George was mild mannered and polite in that situation but these fans were doing precesiely what he hated.

@@henrysmith883 indeed, in every interview since his Listen Without Prejudice Days he's not even been subtle about it. It's even in the lyrics to his songs. I get the greetings outside the house but no need for further photo requests and then posing out the front gates. I totally understand those visitors who paid respect when he passed and took photos of the house... BUT otherwise why take pictures of the blokes house??? That's nothing to do with the musical genius
This was cringeworthy, massive George Michael fan myself. Worked on two bungalows in potters bar ion a stud farm in the 90's Newlan brothers were the main contractors, I was subcontracting for a mate I'm a roofer by trade. I knew George was having them built for his mother and father over the course of the job I used to talk to his dad when he walked his yellow labrador obviously talked about George his dad said he was in the states missing his dog. Didn't need to take any gear just tools so we were driving from bedfordshire in my Mk1 golf GTI, just myself and a guy called Eddie. I was hoping to God i would get to meet George took my pentax camera hoping to get a picture with him and an autograph, one morning a mk1 black J reg range rover with tinted windows drove past slowly and Eddie said George had just turned up. I said pull the other one and carried on slating Eddie was suffering with flu symptoms and said he was bolloxed and was cold so he went for a warm and a kip in my car , reclining the passenger seat layed there fast asleep.I heard movement in the bungalow looked down in the front entrance stood George jet black stubble, Nike track suit and trainers he looked bloody miserable. He did say hi I said morning totally lost for words bloody numpty, he walked past my car looked in and started smiling how I wanted to shout wake me up before you go go but I just thought this is his space and his sanctuary.I must confess I have always regretted it in a way to be honest. Apologies for rambling on I'm old and retired now ,Thanks for the music and the memories George your voice and genius will never come again ❤😰

He was lovely and chatted a while and did the photos and autographs. He was so normal and I was pissing my pants hahaha! I was at the Wham farewell gig at Wembley Stadium in June 1986. George did a duet with David Austin at one point in the show, and told a story about how they both used to busk in Leicester Square tube station before he and Andrew Ridgeley found fame with Wham. George was probably referring to about 1980 or 1981. George and David Austin were still friends and musical collaborators 30 years later, as can be seen here.

I can’t believe these people intruding as they were. Many years ago I was a waiter in a high end restaurant. I met, and took care of many celebrities, actors, artists, performers, and Oscar winners. I always treated them with the same regard I gave every customer. I never became familiar with them, always called them sir or miss, always kept autograph seekers away as they were trying to enjoy a meal, and tried to give them seamless service. I was flattered at times when some celebrities who revisited our restaurant after a year, and were touring again, remembered me and asked for me again. Yes, they are famous, but I think fans badger celebrities too much. The only time I regretted not asking for an autograph, was the time I met Andy Warhol.

I've been a George Michael fan for years and despite what you say, I respect his privacy and indeed have seen him wandering around Edgware, where I used to live, not approaching him etc.
When the guy was ill there we're loads of fans hanging outside his house offering their support. He really appreciated that and has a good relationship with his fans. So where do you draw the line? What's right or what's wrong?

Mate, I love George and I know you do too, but how would you feel if this was outside your house? Have you ever thought that maybe this is an invasion of his privacy? I know he's jovial with you and takes it in it's stride but do you think he really likes this sort of thing? It's doorstepping surely? While I understand that stalking, and indeed on a regular basis, is somewhat obsessive, I was doing neither (although I joke about it on the clip). George Michael was leaving his home for his concert and the few of us there wished him well. I can't agree with you that it's an invasion of his home because we were not inside his home (unlike one lady who actually broke in and spent several weeks in his basement).
