- With MetalSeadramon and Puppetmon defeated, the DigiDestined now had two more of the four Dark Masters to defeat.
While trekking through a desert road, something happened that brought the confident and determined Tai to a panic...
His little sister, Kari, caught a cold, again...!
Apparently, she was hiding this from the others for a while already, but she didn't want them to worry about her as they were still on their mission to save both worlds...
This made Tai regret taking Kari to the Digital World, but Izzy reminded him that without her, they can't save the worlds.
The team eventually found an empty town. So they brought the sick Kari inside a house there to let her rest from her cold in a bed.
Tai now wanted to head out with Izzy to find some medicine for Kari. He appointed T.K. to stay behind and protect everyone else. This will automatically raise their Bonding Rank together.

Trying to work with more of the special Digipieces I have.
Don't underestimate the potential of "Again" and "Regain". Equipped those to let a Digimon get more attacks in:
"Again" will "recharge" a Digimon that had just used a turn, letting them use another one before they're shoved to the back of the Battle Timelinee.
"Regain" will let a Digimon attack twice in a row right then and there before moving back through the battle timeline, and this is allowed to the Digimon three times.
These can both be used on the same Digimon, too!
In the meantime, the town you're in is still suspiciously empty with no enemy Digimon...

Tai & Izzy with their Digimon eventually reach a hospital, but then they had to find the right cold medicine for it.
Izzy decided to use his computer to look up the right medicine to pick, but then...
...Machinedramon and his minions were able to pick up on this, and the minions, the Metal Empire, were sent to attack...
Not yet knowing of this, Tai & Izzy finally find the correct medicine, but then they had to escape as the town was now attacked by Machinedramon's forces!

To hide for quick safety & shelter, the team decided to hide out in a church...
Within the church, Izzy realized that the enemies found them thanks to him accessing the Internet to searching for the right medicine.
This made Tai furious, as this inconvenience meant that it would take longer for him to get back to Kari.
Agumon & Tentomon got worried over Tai's stress. It was enough for him to finally confess (in a church, no less), about a selfish sin he committed when he was younger...

Back when Tai was a 2nd Grader and Kari a Kindergartener, Kari caught a cold, so she had to stay him from school.
Tai falsely believed that Kari was still okay. So brought her outside to play Soccer with her...
But then... her cold morphed into pnumoneia. This put her in the hospital for 3 days.
Tai's mother was absolutely furious with him. He had almost killed his little sister from this mistake. Despite all of this, Kari still had committed her heart to others before herself...
Kari was always like this. Being this selfless even if it could potentially cost her her own life... Meanwhile, Tai had reminded himself of how selfish he was on that day...
At present, however, Izzy and the others wanted to help Tai save his sister again. This will raise their Bonding Rank together.
To get through Machinedramon's forces, Izzy created a lot of fake access points to throw them off. It was now time to return to Kari's house.

Nearing Kari's house, tragedy struck...
The house was suddenly destroyed by a missile, panicking Tai that he had failed to return to Kari in time.
He, too, was about to be killed, but then...
He was quickly protected by Angemon.
Turns out that T.K. did a pretty good job protecting Kari and Sora and evacuating them from the house before anything horrible could happen.
Turns out that missile attack came from Machinedramon, sniff out the kids after Izzy's attempt to throw him off.
Mugendramon was ready to finish off the Chosen Children with one last attack, but the attack instead caused them to separate further...
