Aí me pergunto?

He was the best singer ever. His voice is angelic especially when singing Gospel. I saw him 3 times and the last was in May before he died. I knew then something was horribly wrong. By the way there is a tribute artist headlining at Elvis' hotel in Las Vegas the old Interernational hotel, now call the Westgate, same showroom same show it is sold out nightly, so successful it was just extended to July 2025. You have probably been here before, just bear with me. People get in trouble chasing their first loses, just trying to get back to even money so set a certain daily amount to gamble, and stick to it. Lastly if you want an experience few people have, go eat at Capos Italian restaurant, it is the last of the MOB restaurants left in Las Vegas. The old guys sitting around the place are actual mobsters most too old today. The food is great they will make you feel at home, no danger, they'll be happy to have you, but these guys are the real thing have no doubt about it, throw backs to the days when Las Vegas was MOB run.
What always amazes me is that although I was born in 1942 and raised in the UK on Elvis and his music, I have difficulty distinguishing his failed recordings from his released ones, they all sound perfect and seem to be stymied by some electronic fault or other.

Can you imagine it, '' left my home in Wigan Lancashire, London on my mind, I traveled,'' I will go no further, my journey is complete.
Robert Plant used to joke, 'Yeah, I was the fey blond one, who really, really wanted to be from San Diego ... when the sad truth was that I was from West Bromwich.' :)
Oh,don't knock yourself down,England produced some incredible legends as we did.
The Beatles,Led Zepplins Robert Plant,to just name the top guys from there.
We all got lucky and fortunate to be alive to witness such gifts to humanity that brought the world together so well.
Just remember one thing though...
Elvis didn't die,he just went home!
@@billleyland128 Wot! They don’t speak of British Invasions to these musical shores for no reason. In my generation, I kid you not, we hayseeds in the heartland often thought our favorite bands - viz The Who, the mighty Zep, and others, were American bands. I can’t tell you how English the rock mainstream was, even if we dullards didn’t know it. In our Camaros, ‘Hey, Eddie, listen to this!’ ALWAYS meant British.
Great song thanks
Totally outstanding thanks you❤❤
Tus padres jovencitos. Gracias. Bendiciones

The man that did it all.

That would be FRANK SINATRA, he even sang it his way!

Aí me pergunto?
He was the best singer ever. His voice is angelic especially when singing Gospel. I saw him 3 times and the last was in May before he died. I knew then something was horribly wrong. I balance Tom Parker for this. If his mother had still been alive she would have never let Parker within 100 miles of him. Parker killed Elvis.
It’s the King of Rock n Roll!
After Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977, the African American newspaper, the Chicago Defender explained that: “When Elvis Presley breathed his last breath and the press hailed him as the ‘King of Rock,’ Ol’ Man River cried out, ‘Naw he ain’t! My friend Chuck Berry is the King of Rock. Presley was merely a Prince who profited from the royal talent of a sovereign ruler vested with tremendous creativity. Had Berry been white, he could have rightly taken [Presley’s] throne and worn his crown well.’”

Little secret Graceland doesn't want anyone to know....
The King already had rigor mortice set in long before the fire department ambulance was called on the rescue run.
Glad you used this song.
Great Cover.
I liked Johnny Rivers and actually liked this Song by him ..i found out Elvis had the song all ready to release but he showed Johnny this version ..johny released it and believe it went to top ten..or so..Elvis let it go tho I understand..Gotta love Elvis..
Not Quite. Rivers Stole the song and released it before Elvis. Elvis never spoke to Rivers again. Elvis didn't like thieves and thats what Rivers did. He Stole the song

It wasn't until the end of the song until you realize how important the snare drum is the entire time
The King of Rock and Roll. Nobody is a close second. There's Elvis and then there's everybody else.
@johnnynotenglish9751 The overwhelming majority disagree with you.
My parents saw him not long before he died. I’m glad they did.
@@MamaBear59 I wish I had that opportunity
I had an opportunity to see Elvis in early 1977 the tickets were $17.50 for a guy making minimum wage $2.30 per hour that was a fortune, so I passed a few months later he was dead.
By the way there is a tribute artist headlining at Elvis' hotel in Las Vegas the old Interernational hotel, now call the Westgate, same showroom same show it is sold out nightly, so successful it was just extended to July 2025. Las Vegas is my hometown, if you are in town it may be worth your time.
@@gradywilson9213 I'm going to be in Vegas (from Australia) in October and will visit the Westage
@@rickeap October will be a good time, it is stifling hot here now. Keep in mind the temperature in the desert drops as much as 20 degrees after the sun goes down, bring a light jacket so you don't have to waste money on buying one.
@@gradywilson9213 thanks for the tips.
What always amazes me is that although I was born in 1942 and raised in the UK on Elvis and his music, I have difficulty distinguishing his failed recordings from his released ones, they all sound perfect and seem to be stymied by some electronic fault or other.
Sometimes I like the alternate takes just as much as the original releases,
@@rickeap I like them better, you get the real Elvis on them.
Elvis and Priscilla loved memphis
Elvis played this the demo for this song to l ole Johnnie Rivers he went and recorded it before Elvis could release it

IMO: that story is utter nonsense. Parker probably couldn't get 50% of the publishing from the Chess brothers so Johnny Rivers became a convenient scapegoat.
I think the thumbnail is from the back entrance to Madison Cadillac on Madison Ave in Memphis. I remember that wall as a kid.

Yet another Chuck Berry number Memphis Tennessee yea haw mister!
Elvis goes much beyond Rock´n´Roll. When he was into it in the 50´s he was the best. The most exciting and inspiring figure. Not to the detriment of anybody. As far as I know, Sinatra didn´t write songs either. However, I dare say he is more... of a "king" than Irving Berlin for example. Having said that, everybody is entitled to an opinion.
That was allright!
