junktube4000 I'm of the opinion that it's the other way around, actually. But idk, Douglas has confusing and conflicting views, maybe he's really a National Socialist but in a more poetic and romantic way, maybe he's just fascinated with Germanic and Nazi imagery and symbolism, or maybe he's criticizing them (which I personally find the least likely possibility really). I actually read once that Rose Clouds of Holocaust was just a sad love song, but it's lyrics are extremely ambiguous, but then again, this is Death in June, they were never very straightfoward on the meaning of their songs. Either way, judging by many other songs DiJ has released throughout the years since the 80's, I think they are really fascists but in a very, very different way you would expect a fascist to be.
I totally agree with you, above all else they are artists, if they are fascists or not it's irrelevant. I guess it depends on your interpretation of the lyrics and symbols... Nevertheless I still enjoy DiJ very much.
I'm not one to believe Antifa on issues surrounding Fascists. But their article regarding DI6 does have some tochy subjects Douglas P has been asked about regarding National Socialism & the colonization of Australia (His current residence) www.whomakesthenazis.com/2013/09/queers-to-shut-down-death-in-june-in.html?m=1

Fear is a token And, in this darkness It never rests My body is barren A horse for a hero The sun fails to burn Hail! The White Grain This life, this pain His ship never sails And my nights never end His heart never falls But, my tears never bleed His lips never lie My eyes never pray His faith never falters My doubt never stays His love never slaughters My tongue never needs My hope and it's Angels Our death and our deeds My hope and it's Angels Our death and our deeds ... .

I don't think he'd do a show somewhere where he could go to jail for his homosexuality. The Russian Federation is, after all, a state governed by the social primitivist principles of some of Dougie's fans.

Ive been seeing Death in June in the live sense since 1992. No band has touched me so deeply in the heart and soul . If people cannot look beyond the trappings of symbolism then it is simply not for them .
@Blondi Why would it not be allowed into Israel? He's always been a supporter. Israeli flag used to hang on the main page of the Di6 website back in the day. Around 2004-2005, if I recall correctly.
One of my favourite bands of all time and also a band i will never see live. I think it's pretty shitty to your fans to Abruptly decide to make a random one off show in Israel your last. He should've ended with a final European or UK tour.
Now that i think about it i agree, just makes no sense and is extremely disappointing really. I am just hoping he continues to do solo shows where he still plays DI6 stuff, comparable to what Michael Gira of Swans does.

Quite ironic (and perhaps symbolical) how the last song he played was Rose Clouds of Holocaust.
What is the meaning of that song? I cant tell from the lyrics, but Wikipedia seemed to say it was about the ignorance of Holocaust deniers?

Yea ones interpretation or reaction is definitely part of the art and its purpose. Him and Boyd Rice aren't cowards and know how to make art powerful.

Nice songs to strum and play at beach parties, with the girls, booze, expectations of mutual aggression.
