If I like it, I'll go back to Oregon, sell everything and move there. I've lived in many places, so starting over even at 70, is no problem. Thank you for posting the restaurant.

I spent 3-4 weeks in Hoi A back in 2005. Immersed myself in the local ways. Waking up at 4am walking or biking to the beach for a cool down swim and stop for a couple of bowls of pho on the way back to the hotel. Hands down my favourite place on Earth!.
@ didn’t want to say but from your footage it looks very touristy now, (as it should be really, such a beautiful corner of the Earth, like any other, once the word spreads, people flock. But most won’t appreciate it the way I did and I think the way it should be). Reminds me of when I crossed over from Thailand to Laos and how genuine Laotians were compared to Thais and their fake smiles … I can imagine Laos now becoming flooded with tourists and those Lao people who have switched their livelihoods to the tourism industry). Times change, hey?

Unfortunately, it seems that some merchants are trying to overcharge tourists - 30,000 Dong for a sausage, which equals $1.22 US. Great video of Hoi An.
Tyler, you hit the perfect spot in Hỏi Ăn! My daughter would give that Mót drink a 9.9. That line is always full of people. As for the Câu Lâu, unfortunately we had one at a place next to the river, which was just alright… maybe a 5.1.
if Tyler doesn’t have a lot money he can do in a different way by buying a bunch fresh fresh green tea in a market ( about 50 pence) and boil them in a kettle at his hotel It will make up 50 cups or more boil them again and again

love Hoi An. Was there 20 years ago. It's been overrun with tourists now but still worth visiting. They have the best chicken rice in the world.
I too was there around May 2005. It was so dreamy. Stayed 3-4 weeks. Didn’t want to leave. My favourite town in my Asian travels.

That Japanese Bridge was renovated just a few months ago. It was completely covered just back in June when we were there. Your timing is perfect. 🤩
