@@BrianErwin looks like a rock solid alti and I would love a review unit to give an opinion. I really love what the folks over at dekunu have been up so I opted to with them and I look very forward to jumping it tomorrow to film review stuff.
Mine won't work at all if I follow the steps. Once I get to the Jump Counter with a 0 on it, I try to hold down the center button again for 5 seconds and it just takes me back to the main screen with the altitude :(
So once you get passed the locks, you can’t move forward? Try holding that center button down until something happens once there…. It’s a Long 5 seconds.
@@fluffybunnyz dude its a complete game changer from analog altis! Just gotta make sure you turn it on right before you jump so it has the right calibration for dz
You cannot, this alti does not pair with your smartphone. There are a few alternatives out there that DO pair with your smart phone.... but I believe they are all still in the development stage. I can tell you that this alti is amazing!!!!
@@fluffybunnyz well I believe your video will certainly help and I am getting ready to try and figure it out. The quick start guide wasn't much help. I hope I can get the hang of it or I may decide to sell it. I may come back and ask you questions if that is ok. Thanks for making the video
K W - ask all the questions! Heck, I’ll even make another video if you need something shown with more detail. The system isn’t the fastest. So remember to kinda be deliberate and slow with your button pressing if that makes sense. Either way, I’m here for ya... and the alti is epic! So it’s worth learning.
Getting into these things feels like breaking into a safe sometimes. :) I need to make some more skydive videos and be a little more in depth. I wanted this one to be right to the point.
Hello, my wife and I both just got this altimeter. As far as the jump counter goes it looks like I cannot enter a number higher than 999. I have 1006 jumps so can I only enter 6 in the jump counter? If so, when I get to jump number 2000 does the altimeter go to 0?
I never pushed it that high… I blame you for being awesome. I think that is the case. I have been jumping the Dekunu one for about 2 years now and have been in love. (It’s not without its flaws) but it’s capable of some very cool stuff.
@@TheChandymancan I don’t think you’re the first person. I know plenty that use them with over 1k jumps, I’m not sure those guys use the alti to keep track anymore tho. Zero idea why l/b wouldn’t have a solid answer or a respectable “we will fix it”. I feel like you should set it as high as it goes, make a jump and let me know if it resets. Cuz im curious now. I know they are working on a smart alti, but by the time they release dekunu will be light years ahead.
@@fluffybunnyz I just checked out the Dekuno on ChutingStar and it only has 2.5 stars in the reviews. I'll probably stick with the Ares for now. I have a Protrack as an audible that keeps a running tally of jumps. I just thought it would be nice to have 2 digital logbooks for redundancy and I'm perplexed at the thought process behind the Ares jump counter. It doesn't make sense to me. Maybe I'll try what you suggested with entering 999 on my first jump to see what happens.
Worse case scenario is that it rolls to 1 and you’ll have to mentally note how many thousands you have ;) Dekunu is a love hate. I have had no problems with the young company whatsoever. People are usually mad over little things and they are fast to make it right. Plus I love new gadgets. Either way! Let me know how it goes.
Hi, I have the same altimeter, when I try to access the interface instead of showing the screen that you got"4EA with 201 on the top" I got back to the same screen with 0 on it.
Yeah, I see the lock. I eventually accessed the lock but when I press it and see the 5 dotted lines and then press for 5 seconds it goes back to the original screen.
@@dsears266 Yes, so you need to press the middle button once when you see the lock appear immediately press the middle button but hold this time. It will disappear, but keep holding it until it re-appear and then let go then you 'll be able to access the menu. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks this was really helpful, the LB manual does a terrible job of explaining how to get to the setting menu where as this video nails it !
I’m very much a visual guy, figured a few folks could benefit from seeing it. Glad it could help!
Thanks mate! I was a bit confused by the guide like a lot of others I’m sure!
Al X anytime mate!
Thanks man, quick start guide is shit, very helpful
No worries friend! Glad it helped!
thank you! i could not figure this shit out with this quick start guide
It’s not easy :) glad I could help!!! I just got in the new dekunu alti to review. Gonna jump it tomorrow... until now, this has been my favorite alti
@@fluffybunnyz didn't know that existed.. may take this back and try the AO (N2)

I have the same Alti and either I am a idiot or it's not really easy to use. I find it a bit confusing.

I’m with ya brother.
Does the Ares II fit the old Viso II+ elastic mount?
RaneXone it does not, the screen size is much larger so it would be pointless to use the old mount.
Keeps flashing between 0 and 10 wtf hold down and screen shows the 0 blank at top and any button I hit goes back to main screen????????!
Maybe you got a bad unit? Never seen that not work. You have to have patience and be deliberate with those button mashes. Maybe the timing is off?
Thanks dude - that guide sucked - you rock!
