A MUST Try Quick Ham & Leek Pasta!

- It's no surprise that ham and leeks are a match made in heaven. So I've created this super easy, super quick and super cheap 4 ingredient ham and leek pasta recipe. PLUS I am using garlic and herb cream cheese as a cheats ingredient. It already has bags of flavour, so you won't have to go out and buy lots of other ingredients, as it already has them in.
#budgetmeals #pasta #comfortfood
To make my 4 ingredient - Excluding oil and S&P - creamy ham and leek pasta you will need:
Serves 4
►320g of rigatoni pasta (or pasta of your choice)
►200g of garlic and herb cream cheese
►100g of ham trim
►1 medium sized Leek
►About 1 tbsp of rapeseed or olive oil
►1/4 tsp of chilli flakes (optional)
►Salt and pepper to taste

I'll get this in there before anyone points it out. Yes it's technically 7 ingredients if you include the oil, salt and pepper. But A. I would assume most people will have that in their cupboards already and B. The thumbnail would be a bit crap if it said 'Only 4 ingredients but actually it's 7 if you include the oil, salt and pepper'.
Let's go full pedant and add another for the water!
P.S. A belated happy birthday.
@@neilpickup237 haha thanks matey
I think this is gonna be a regular on the 'I'm knackered but I hafta cook something' meal rota. Loving the fancy rolling wine rack 😄
brilliant to use the flavored cream cheese
Just had this for dinner last night! Thanks for the great recipe, it was tasty! 😁
Glad you liked it!!
Adam, this recipe is ingenious! The combination of ham and leeks is indeed a culinary classic, and incorporating garlic and herb cream cheese as a shortcut is brilliant. It not only simplifies the preparation but also ensures a rich depth of flavour without the need for numerous additional ingredients. I'm excited to try this quick, economical, and undoubtedly delicious pasta dish. Thank you for sharing such an innovative recipe!
Hope you enjoy mate!
I love your vids! I’ve gotten so many great recipes and ideas from you and I’m very appreciative of that. Thank you and please keep posting!❤
i know what im going to be making with my grandson Ryan next weekend.....................nice.
How’d it go, out of curiosity?
Looks bloody delicious 😋 that Adam 👌🏻
Thank you Poppy x
That's dinner sorted for tomorrow. Yum
Enjoy!
Delicious and so easy...thank you for sharing. Love your new kitchen island
Thank you Jane x
Lovely stuff, can't go wrong with free added flavour! That's a great little island you've got- congrats!
Cheers pal
Sautéing leeks is one of my favorite kitchen aromas. Its wonderful.
@ttabood7462 same mate same. In fact I've just sautéed some off just now for another recipe I'm working on
Gonna try and make this for our residents next week
Love the kitchen trolley. Cute, practical, and it fits 👍
I love it!
I believe on Salter scales "unst" means unstable. One of the feet wasn't touching the worktop properly.
Looks delicious!
I think I was just being impatient with the thing 🤣
Love your quick and easy recipes 💚
Glad you like them!
Simple, quick, inexpensive and tasty 😋
Yep! 😋
Made your sausage tray bake last night, so simple and delicious.
Will be making this at the weekend.
Nice vid! Thank you! I like your kitchen purchase, been looking for something similar myself. Keep the vids come'n, we appreciate you making them for us! Take care and have a great week!
Type in 'costway serving trolley' into amazon and it will come up. £89 for the white one. You'll need beer and patience putting it together though. It was a pain in the arse for me. 🤣
Bloody loves this Adam! Simple and tasty, right up my street. I had some chorizo kicking about so added that too ... =]
Good shopping on your little wheelie island-so helpful to have that extra counter and storage space in a small kitchen, isn’t it.
It was a challenge to find something that would fit under the counter top, but yeah it was a great purchase. I can wheel it out and use the top as prep space when I need to as well
Handy for a tripod too! @@Adam_Garratt
This sounds yummy! Thanks for sharing!!
Did it again adam cheap tasty which is what we want affordable food
Delicious as always, Adam. You'll get that sponsorship soon! 👍
I do get offered a fair few, but I rarely accept them. I have got a cheeky product review coming though which is a bit of a fun thing.
Great Adam I needed a good recipe for tomorrow. Aussie Bob. 😊😊😊
Adam, Adam, Adam.... you did it, another exquiste creation. Thank you, cheers🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! Cheers!
Great to see you back, Adam! ☺️👍🏻
The pasta dish looks absolutely delicious too! 😋
Wadge! 😂
Thank you mate
I love leeks!!! Gotta try this delicious recipe! Love the little island!!! Have a good week ahead ❤
@cherbeatTX59 I don't know why I thought this, but for some reason I thought you couldn't get leeks in America 🤣
@@Adam_Garratt we aren't that uncivilized 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Easy and tasty, what more can you ask.
Cheers
Yum!
I should start eating more pasta, that looks amazing Adam
You can do so much with it too
bloody lovely Adam.. me and the missis loves this.. I only had one leek so I put a chopped onion in to boot as well as a load of parmasan cheese to make it well cheesy ,, yum yum

Oh yes, this is going to be our Tuesday dinner❤
Très belle recette 🙂
Hope you enjoy mate
Mmmm. Bet it would be great cold, as a left over pasta salad too.
hi adam nice recipe - have made similar ones before but never thought of using the philly or cream cheese - good idea - thanks
You're welcome mate. You can also experiment with the different flavours they do. Sweet chilli, chives and they even do a salmon one. Swap the ham out for tuna maybe for that one
Yesss, you're back! 🙌 Great recipe, Adam!
Yes mate 😉
Nice one!! Hmmmmm yummy, I'm definitely going to try this recipe!! Thank you so much for sharing here, awwwwwwww I love pasta, all washed down with a nice glass of wine and a piece of garlic bread on the side!!🤩
Its so good to hear from you Adam. You are so appreciated. Your kitchen looks lovely. I love the kichen island. I wish I had room for one but my place is too small. Love you Adam take care x
It's getting there. Still need some more shelving really, and I need to do something about the ridiculous plastic back splash behind the hob. But I love it, it's a cosy little kitchen. Thank you lovely, have a great Sunday x
Fantastic! - I LOVE how you cannot contain your joyful smug happiness with your new addition to the kitchen and it DEFINITELY means you get excellent camera shots with almost no major efforts so well done Adam. Flippin' love ham and leek anything (soup, omelette, casserole, pie, pasta/rice dish, even pizza! Whatevs, keep up the excellent work and I hope you're enjoying the summer there if there is one. :-) I'm in the Canaries (again).
lol @adam testscreen
adding the pasta turned it immediately into a meal for eight. Just sayin. :-)
I'm easily pleased 🤣
Love ur island Adam❤Tasty recipe mmm😛
Thanks Joanne x
Fab cupboard Adam. Well found. Aussie Bob 😊
Well that is what I'm making tonight (Friday). Then into a container and take round to friend Tom, who is 86, for Friday night dinner 😋
@jonathanbailey1810 that's a lovely thing to do. Hope you both enjoy
The sort of Pasta Meal I like making most days of the week! Wonderful for Tea and Supper times! It just needs loads of freshly ground Back Peppercorns, with a few chopped Chillies, to perfect the taste! My sort of Fun Cooking in my kitchen! every day....😊....😊....!
I love recipes like this because they are so easily adaptable. You can use different flavoured cream cheeses, add disgusting mushrooms if you want to 🤣
@@Adam_Garratt Love it! Rape Seed Oil, Chopped Ham with chopped Button Mushrooms, Grated Cheese, and some slivers of Garlic and Chilli, together with a choice of Spaghetti, Linguine, or Tagliatelle, and loads of freshly ground Black Pepper Corns, make a tasty Italian for me, any time of the day...or night!...LOL...😊...😊...!
I have a tub of Tesco cream cheese, bought to make a cream of mushroom soup which never happened, nearing the use by date in the back of the fridge, and a pack of bacon frozen on the use by date. Looks like I need to buy a leek.
Bacon would be fab in this. Or gammon too
Smashed it again Adam, nice one 👍. I've shared your channel with my son who's currently out of work and finding things a bit difficult. He's definitely going to make your baked bean curry
@steveday4797 oh bless him, I'm so sorry he's going through it! Hopefully better times ahead mate
@@Adam_Garratt thanks Adam
Looks tasty Adam ,easy too would put a splash of Worcestershire sauce on too .!

Same. Or hendersons relish, I love both
Nice n easy mid week tea 😊, thanks for sharing
You're welcome Pete
Excellent and tasty - I like easy recipes and cream cheese is very versatile thanks
You can also experiment with the different flavours. I think they do a chilli one too
Looking well mate! Love the recipe. Looks really good. Can't wait to try it!

Nice one Adam, that looks fantastic. I think I have all the makings in the house already. Cheers Lad!

Love it Adam and also love your little wheely station too, I have one as well and they are brilliant!
@junebenson01 Thanks June. Plus, it can hold 9 bottles of wine! 🤣
@@Adam_Garratt Not for long in my house! haha
Nice dish.
Thank you
Packets of ham are one of the items you most regularly see at supermarkets on yellow tickets at half price. Just use them within a couple of days.
True that
Great video Adam, thanks. I’m making this tonight. I just checked the ingredients in the video description and I think a key ingredient is missing? Leek?
Ah good spot mate, thank you! Added it in
Hi adam, hope you are ok?I love you videos! Take care xx
Yummy ❤
Thank you Andrea x
I have just bought a set of 3 of those skimmer thingies you used to get the pasta out - less than £6 and it means I don't risk falling over the dogs trying to get to the sink to drain the pasta. I hereby award you your PhD in Culinary Hacks.
Spiders they are called. Bloody brilliant things they are.
Looks so good . Could the left overs be refrigerated and eaten cold ? I always make too much pasta .
@@loobylooroden6176 aye sure
ADAM! Your haircut is so cute! 😘. Oh, and the pasta looks good, too!
Aww thanks! Turkish barbers near me. They always do a fab job with what little I have left these days 🤣
@@Adam_Garratt Don't tell Reform!
Giving that one a go Ads, Looked well lush mate 👌
Cheers fella, enjoy!
Long time subscriber here. It's excellent to see your channel growing, mate. As far as I'm concerned, you are the most honest and relatable cooking creator on TH-cam. Your style makes it feel like I'm over at my mate's and we are just cooking something together while chatting about things. Very cool vibes. Here's to a 100k subscribers and many more. You deserve it.
That's a lovely thing to say mate. Thank you so much!
@@Adam_Garratt My pleasure, mate. Oh, and another thing. I have the very same digital kitchen scale. That "unst" thing used to drive me up the wall, but the solution is actually very simple. Luckily, you don't need to replace the batteries as it's not about the battery. The scale does this when you switch it on while already having placed a heavy-ish dish or bowl on it. I know you do that because you want to measure only the things you put in said bowl without the weight of the bowl. So you can fix the "unst" thing in two ways. Either switch the scale on without anything placed on it, and when you put your bowl on it, it will display the weight of the bowl, but just push the on/off button lightly so the display will switch back to zero. Or if you have your bowl on the scale and you switch it on and the "unst" thing appears, just lift the bowl up momentarily and push the on/off button lightly to make the display show 0 instead of "unst" - and when you put the bowl back down, the display will show the weight of the bowl but just push the on/off button again to make it show zero. Hope this helps :)
@justneedalogin ahhh! So that's what it is! Thanks for that mate I'll remember that for next time
@@Adam_Garratt No worries, happy to help :)
I use Boursin to make my version of this.
Good Sunday Morning, Adam! This dish looks like a nice and quick weeknight meal, as it goes together very quickly. I never thought of using the City of Brotherly Love cream cheese in a pasta dish, but it is always a staple in my home. I don't have the garlic and herb style, but I have lots of herbs and garlic.
The mobile work cart with wine rack is an excellent idea and fits perfectly under your counter top. I might have to pick one up just like yours. I might have to removed the wine shelf and replace it with a whiskey and tequila shelf. The wine tends to stay in the fridge. Why? Because it's always "wine-o-clock" somewhere! LOL!
Thank you for a delicious recipe and great video. We will definitely give this a try. Take care and stay cool. Big hugs from hot and sunny Florida!! 🌞🌴🤗❣🙏
Thank you Lisa x. I'm not sure if it's available in the U.S (I imagine it will be). But this exact type was called 'Costway kitchen serving trolley' on amazon if you want the same one. I paid £89
@@Adam_Garratt Thank you, Adam! I was just perusing the different types of trolley available, but I will check out that brand as I might be here too. Thank you, again!😊 🙏
Yum! 😋😋
😋
I like ham I like leek I like pasta, let’s go!
Looks good Adam, but I can't stand leeks. Any suggestions for a substitute? xx
Swap out for something like savoy cabbage or broccoli Tina x
@@Adam_Garratt that sounds good, thanks Adam x
Adam! 🍜
John! 🤣
If you include the Gas / Electric to power the Stove and the assorted Welsh Farmer's who have grown the Leeks their Boyo and they are Lovely you may be into 10 plus ingredients but who cares the basic point here is that you cooked something very original and delicious Mr Adam and you should be proud of your efforts to share that with us on the Tube
@Mike_5 thank you mate!
@@Adam_Garratt You are very welcome Buddy 🙃
Where did you purchase the ham trimmings??
These were from asda mate
Is that chilli oil to the left of your hob?
No, it's used cooking oil from a fried chicken recipe I'm working on. I didn't want to throw it away 🤣
I boil a gammon joint to make my own ham 750 G for £4.75 (lasts all week for sandwiches) 👍👍👍👍
Awesome stuff. Would work in this recipe too
Am I alone in thinking rape seed oil smells fishy when heated up? Thanks for the vid, Adam!
Can't say I've noticed that mate
Why don't you boil the water in your kettle and then put it in the pan?
Quicker and therefore cheaper.
Aye you can do that, it's just not a habbit I'm used too
Easier to just bung the pasta in cold water and turn the heat on - and probably a bit quicker and cheaper too. Exceptions are fresh pasta and (for me) long pasta such as spaghetti. I find that the water is more starchy at the end as well so better for adding to the sauce.
@@andyleighton3616 Do you boill water for tea and coffee in a pan rather than a kettle?
@@martinspencer1618 Kettle of course. Not that it has anything to do with things.
Cooking pasta is partly about hydration which doesn't require the water to be boiling, and partly about getting it up to temperature. So putting pasta in cold water means that it starts to hydrate as the water heats, and so needs less time at boiling.
@@andyleighton3616 I'll split the difference then and start with lukewarm water
While I am all for eliminating unnecessary ingredients, I am not the greatest fan of keeping ingredients down to a specified number.
Having said that, it is definitely a recipe that I need to try. I also think that it could be a great use for any chicken left on the carcase, either instead of, or in addition to the ham (or leftover cooked gammon).
However, unlike your good self, I do not consider mushrooms to be an unnecessary ingredient, which I feel could make a welcome addition along with a few peas.
I actually have successfully grown peas this year as well. I should have added a few in
I know this is unrelated but it’s annoying in the us. Sick of medication videos. Every 2 minutes they are pushing medication. It’s disgusting
"Disco Salt (msg)" 🤣
You noticed 🤣
