Graeme Leak performs 'Yo Yo Man' at the Hong Kong City Festival 2001

this piece began as a transcription of 'Xylophone Solo (#1)' from the vinyl recording 'Music and Musicians of the Angolan Border - The Tshokwe', which I bought when I was about 12, it is one of the first records I owned (Lyrichord LLST-7311). The rhythmic accompaniment is transferred to the feet and the marimba lines are approximate versions of the original, ad lib. I added the vocal/whistling melody. It is dedicated to my brother Bill, the most beautiful Yo Yo I know. Thanks to camera op Santha Press.
