It’s not about being a coomer or a perv, it’s about censorship. It starts with fanservice, then it’s violence and language, then it spirals out of control until our favorite media is completely unrecognizable.
Censorship is a crime. People can like what they like, and not like what they don't like. But when something is made, to censor it for people who don't even enjoy it or care is wrong. Especially when you have to seek it out.
Honestly a lot of charm of Ashley was her ditzy and immature personality. Its part of the reason "leon help me" become such a memorable line and funny in retrospect. But new Ashley is more serious and "strong" which in turn makes New ashley bland, boring and downright unpleasant to be around at times. while orginal Ashley will countinue to be the community favorite and be infinitely more charming and fun.. the panties shots dont hurt either

I murdered a family of 3 in a recent AAA video game. Not even casually. They invited me into their living room, and I just butchered them down one by one. It felt dark and wrong, and a side character tried to cope with the fact by trying to justify it. But the game being so aware of the psychology of it was a testament of how much love and care went into it, and what it rewarded was my curiosity and having the guts to remember "No Russian". It was a profound, visceral, low-key traumatic experience, kind of like when I naively let a tabletop RPG character of mine get raped by an NPC. It was an important life lesson for me. And I think this is the real value of playing games since the dawn of time: To mess around and find out in a safe sandbox environment.
SO real life child drag shows are FINE, real life murder of babies are fine, apparently "MAPS" are fine now too. But an up skirt of a fictional character in a video game is crossing the line? These people Need to be institutionalized.
Actually... thinking about this concept of 'fictional character consent' as these people are approaching it. They can't consent to being lewded... so the presumption is that it isn't allowed. However, they also can not consent to participation in the production of a violent video game... so can't put them in any of those. They also can't consent to being subjected to horror themes... so ditch those as well. They also cannot consent to having a camera following them around constantly... so they can't be visible in video games. All the NPCs? Also not consenting to cameras coming into their world and recording them. So basically, if fictional characters need to consent for people to lewd them... they should need to consent to appearing in a game. Since it is literally impossible for fictional characters to consent to anything, then they should be banned entirely. But that also needs to propagate to other media. Superman? He is fictional. Doesn't matter what actor plays him... the character 'superman' cannot consent, and therefore no further movies/comics of him should be produced. The entire MCU - gone. Everything made by Disney - vanish. Cartoon network? Wiped. The only thing left, documentaries, histories, and reality TV. Wait... wait... history is out, since none of them are alive to consent. Good number of documentaries as well... can only do them about living people, played by those people. Down to just reality TV... except, one could say people 'ham it up' for the show. So technically, those are fictional characters that cannot consent... because the person playing that character is not actually that character. So, let's just annihilate the entire entertainment industry. That solves the consent problem.
@@bloody4558 I wouldn't advocate elimination... but I would highly encourage their grade 12 graduation be revoked... if they even have it. If they for some reason have anything from post-secondary (college, university, or such) then of course they would also be revoked. Put them on a 'minimum wage' list... where because they think saving fictional characters is more important than saving real people, they aren't permitted to make more than minimum wage... including, they are banned from receiving tips. If they are living off things like OnlyFans, or Twitch, or such, the people on the list are to only receive the equivalent pay of a 40 hour minimum wage week, no matter how much is donated to them. The extra is to then be divided between the platform they are raising money through, and the government. (Incentive for both to get on board this plan.)

My biggest problem with REmake is voice direction for Ash, Krauser and Ada. Especially Ada is acting like she's playing hard to get towards Leon, who clearly isn't interested. In the original she was playfully flirting with him because she still felt like she owes him for Racoon City, she's intrigued by his survival skills and impressed of how much progress he's made since their last meeting, easily outfighting her despite being caught by surprise. New Ada is all over the place and has 0 chemistry with Leon, which is a shame since I liked these 2, especially their moment together in RE6. As for consent debate - you've said everything. Fictional characters have no rights, if they do then everyone who plays Siege or any other game where you play cops and robbers must be put in jail.
@@jazzratoon The voice for Ashley is ok but I didn't like the way her face looks now. She is supposed to be around 19 and the old version definitely looks 19 and the new version makes her look like she is 26.
I honestly cringe whenever people use the term "male gaze" whenever they talk about fanservice because it implies that whatever fanservice is present exists purely for men. I've seen plenty of women on the internet (especially Vtubers)who have lusted after attractive fictional characters and have done so very openly, especially female characters. Heck there are times when fanservice pops up in something like manga, people automatically assume it was a man who did it when in reality it was drawn /created by a female artist.
Same thing applies to MMOS, plenty of women play World of Warcraft and FF14 and want their characters to wear cute or wear revealing outfits. There is a reason that the 2b thigh highs are a sought after item in FF14 and the Black Mage Weave Leggings in wow are popular. Sex sells and it sells so well because it targets both demographics. Women like sexy attractive clothing, men like sexy attractive women in revealing clothing and no one is mad about this because it has been a marketing ploy for years now. The idea that finding someone attractive is solely a creepy guy things is insane, women watch lesbian porn because it's directed by women from a female perspective. Lesbians watch lesbian porn for obvious reasons. Men watch lesbian porn because more women = more of the thing i like. The only demographic that doesnt view women as sexy is gay men and they make up 2.7% of the population in the UK and that includes lesbian/bisexual. The actual statistic is probably closer to 1.3%. Only 1.3% of the population are disinterested in attractive women/clothing, and even then a lot of gay people will choose skimpy or sexy outfits because they like the look of them/style. To believe that the majority of people dont view sexy people/clothing as attractive is statistically insane. It's just pandering to what sounds like the right take rather than having any actual thought behind it.
@@rasmachris94 I highly doubt that many straight women watch lesbian porn, if anything they are far more likely to watch male gay porn. Those statistics are bogus. And if anything, there's plenty of gay dudes who are able to find women attractive, just not on a personal level. And if we look at the relative % of gay dudes appreciating other women's appearances it's likely higher than straight women. But otherwise i'm on your side.
So, giving characters anything but happy and fur filling lives is something horrible? And even then, no way for them to consent to what sort of life they have.

@@joshjess9841 He is right in some regards, the remake is much more serious in tone and Ashley doesn't act like a spoiled brat in it like she did in the original. In the original, Ashley was seen as more of a joke than an actual character, the way she was the over the top entitled and bratty, the stereotypical rich girl. Regardless of the reasoning, I think the remake handled it much better than most games, instead of degrading Leon or making Ashley be seen as a "strong independent woman" they still made her reliant on Leon for comfort and safety, while fleshing out her character more. That said, games like Nier Automata and the Metal Gear games were able to tell a serious story, while having over the top fan service. However demanding fan service be put into areas it's not needed also stifle artistic creativity & expression. I'm fine with approach the game took, however shaming people for being upset of the fan service removal is also a great way to just piss people off.
Can someone please tell how the bloody hell do you ask consent from a fictional character? Are we seriously focusing on this instead of... y'know... REAL WORLD PROBLEMS?! Just... Just reset the world please! This is getting absurd!
I'd argue that the 2B achievement is actually important in that it's an early confirmation that androids, no matter what model, have emotions and can respond emotionally rather than rationally.
The fun part about that feature was that it was a secret regarding the outfits, when the game launched in the early 2000's only a few knew about that secret to earn the different outfits for all characters (3 each if I recall), each one with different kinks. Ex. Ashley's Armored outfit, which makes her immortal to all, even the zombies can't lift her to kidnapped her because the armour is too heavy. A guy posted the differences in the outfits and the different reactions from Ashley to Leon, one of them was catching Ashley on the ladders, there, he found that when you try to look up on Ashley she hides her panties and calls him a pervert, a normal reaction and a good feature, because it shows how Ashley is very innocent and girly. But on her other cowgirl outfit, she is wearing bell pants and a top vest, when you look up on the ladders, she doesn't react the same way, because there is nothing to hide, nothing to be ashamed of, and the armoured outfit was my favorite because when she jumps off the ladders and Leon catches her, the camera shakes, Leon throws his knee to the ground due to the armour's weight and when he's standing up, he grabs his back like saying how painful that was. I think the real think that bothers me about those things being deleted is that they don't care about those details anymore and they just want to emphazise the cool rendering and graphics, I still need to finish the game to see if they put extra post-game stuff, so far I love the game.
"You need a Fictional character's consent before you can gaze at them lecherously" Right, and how in the hell are they going to respond? It's like these idiots are the ones who can't tell reality from fiction so they just make everything reality.
*BALL* -istic. lol (If they have balls, they wouldn't be doing this. That's like you nerfed your entire game on s3x appeal, then what's the point of fanservice.)
Ashley's ballistics are based on a real person though. Purposely increasing someone bust size after taking a 3D scan of their real and actual body is kind of creepy. Looking at you David Cage
@@KakfkaLover do you have a similar opinion about devs uglifying characters after using the actual actors as a base? (as in, if the cast person is good looking, they purposefully alter the appearance in the game to make them uglier because they "don't look strong" or other bs like that)
You notice they have a lot to say about the 2B achievement, but not a peep of complaint about the achievement for making 9S run around in his underwear for an hour. Funny, that.
If we need the "consent" of fictional character then I suppose we can't make up fictional character and whatever scenario we want to put them in anymore because, they never "consented" to being created and/or having them do what we want them to do. Lol
The idea that a player trying to look up a character's skirt would cause real world problems, always makes me think of stuff like the Satanic from the 1980s about metal music.
We live in a world where we as living being must give consent to FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. Characters that are not real, these people seriously need a reality check. Also, removing fanservice should be a crime, how dare they.
Western game journalists have been complaining about Japanese fanservice for like 20 years now. It ramped up when Microsoft and more Western devs got into the industry.
lol I actually do try to look up characters' skirts or whatever they're wearing in any 3D game. For various reasons. Some, but not all include: - To see if it's possible - Check how much detail they put into something the player normally can't see - Maybe check out an easter egg if there's any (like 2B dodging the camera if you stare for too long) Yes, I do this with male characters as well. Tho I usually don't do it since if they're not wearing skirts or anything that don't fully cover their legs, it's almost certain that there's nothing modeled there. Which is disappointing. Not a lot of good underpant representation in games. And going back to RE4, it was extremely self-aware. Fitted right in with the corny humor of the game. You had to go out of your way to make it possible since the camera really didn't gave much room to look around freely. There's even a special interation that if you suplex an enemy in a position that made Leon stare directly up Ashley, she would cuss at him, even if the camera is looking down at them and not allowing the player to see the same as Leon.
How long until i need consent for having lewd thoughts about my waifus? Do i need to get consent from just the waifu? Maybe the writer of the story? Voice actress? If there is a dub of the same anime character do i need consent from every single person who voiced the character since they all may be offended? If i draw a picture of my waifu saying she consents, is it considered coersion? Rabbit holes. Rabbit holes everywhere. Pain-Peko.
this is why I wish I was good at drawing. I would literally draw any character holding their license and saying "I'm 18+ and I consent" just to spite those freaks
Why was that singled out of everything else? Because they'll keep doing it bit by bit until everything is censored. That's how psychology works. If only a tiny bit of something is changed, no one is bothered by it. Imagine them censoring 0.01% of the game. They just have to do it 10 000 times, and they have the insanity to do it.
It's wrong. Like, it literally is inherently bad & evil at it's core, to anyone wishing to consume entertainment in it's pure, undiluted form. Censorship isn't meant to 'protect' and 'spare' anyone from seeing something that might trigger them and give them bad feefees. No, that's just the bullshit excuse of those who are itching happily to use it to silence dissent, smudge the truth, and disrupt artistic/creative freedom that would fly in the face of their fascistic narrative & agenda they're trying to push. That's what censorship always is. And, even when it comes to scenarios where information like names & locations are deliberately inked out before being disseminated to the public, again, it's not to protect anyone's safety/sanity. It's because they think we're all too stupid & inept to grasp the truth. Also, because they have more to gain from lying and keeping secrets from us than just being outright & honest.
Exactly! It reminds of of someone in an LP telling a rape joke, and the other guy saying they couldn't leave it in, so the first guy changed the joke to where they gave consent, and then it was ok. :D
I talked to a character on CAI and asked for consent when someone tried to say that the character needed to give consent. It gave me consent to draw nsfw 👍
Not once have I ever heard of any players demanding "look up skirt for panty-shots" to be a feature in a game to warrant us to be "feeling entitled to it" as the article as stated. The developers made the game with character models and swinging camera angles as a game would have it, the fan service comes from players who explore the controls given to them by said developers. Sometimes it is a necessity to have these features for testers/ QA to make sure there are no bugs if you were dip low and stare into the abyss (if you get my drift)
That "game dev" said it all we needed to know, the male gaze. They think only males want to up skirts, when it's not. I'm with you, I didn't ask for it; yet if it is included in the game, then it is the games dev to put it in.

Actually... thinking about this concept of 'fictional character consent' as these people are approaching it.
Quite the case study. I applaud you for doing an 'example' of this consent thing
Or, we can simply eliminate the delusional mofos who cannot understand the concept of fiction.
@@bloody4558 Agreed.
This is amazing, but Western Society struggles with understanding this concept. Their idiocy knows no bounds, so I doubt that they can understand this.

I'm very mad that they censored Ashley's best assets;
Her big, massive, absolutely adorable
ears.
And her booty butt cheeks.
yah, adding the 'adorable' ruined the distraction joke.
Cant believe once again i have to quote spongebob: CALM DOWN SON, ITS JUST A DRAWING, NOT THE REAL THING
Maybe not sir.Someone can out of their control sir
me but with people who are still arguing over Bridget's gender. Meanwhile me in the lab. Haha I love doing combos with this funny little yo yo girl
I guess it will modding season for the modders outside of the video game in question.
Also a quote from SpongeBob: THAT'S IT MISTER, YOU JUST LOST YOUR BRAIN PRIVILEGES
I asked all fictional characters ever and they all said yes.
"You need a Fictional character's consent before you can gaze at them lecherously"
Right, and how in the hell are they going to respond? It's like these idiots are the ones who can't tell reality from fiction so they just make everything reality.
The fact that the devs nerfed the ballistics on the female characters is a crime.
Physics much better to say sir
*BALL* -istic. lol (If they have balls, they wouldn't be doing this. That's like you nerfed your entire game on s3x appeal, then what's the point of fanservice.)
Ashley's ballistics are based on a real person though. Purposely increasing someone bust size after taking a 3D scan of their real and actual body is kind of creepy. Looking at you David Cage
Her breasts are still realistically large underneath her clothing. Just not noticeable as much thanks to baggy clothes.
Lol
If u can't separate fictional from reality then you have a problem 💯
The idea that a player trying to look up a character's skirt would cause real world problems, always makes me think of stuff like the Satanic from the 1980s about metal music.
We live in a world where we as living being must give consent to FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. Characters that are not real, these people seriously need a reality check. Also, removing fanservice should be a crime, how dare they.
@WendyIsCool Oh God...
Well get used to it because this will keep happening heck 30 years from now this stuff will keep happening
It will never end. The balance in power will never shift. We'll always be stucked, cucked, and improperly fucked.
@Itachi Is superior to you eww sakura
I will say it every time "coded" is code word for "Not at all but I want you to think it is" I really hate people using that word.
The “Zero days without nonsense” meme hits different now
Western game journalists have been complaining about Japanese fanservice for like 20 years now. It ramped up when Microsoft and more Western devs got into the industry.
lol I actually do try to look up characters' skirts or whatever they're wearing in any 3D game. For various reasons. Some, but not all include:
- To see if it's possible
- Check how much detail they put into something the player normally can't see
- Maybe check out an easter egg if there's any (like 2B dodging the camera if you stare for too long)
Yes, I do this with male characters as well.
"You need consent"
Call the cops then.

Pain-Peko.
Need that "Take your meds" as a clip to send to every twitter user.
this is why I wish I was good at drawing.
Censorship is absolutely stupid.
You could say it's stupid-coded.
Why do you people want to see up her skirt so badly it's so creepy 😂
*Draws fictional character giving consent*
And then they complain about it not really being consent cuz u forced them to do so
I’m secretly Pro Choice because I think about drawing but never draw.
A sun tzu move
If someone tells you a fictional character needs to give consent, simply draw that character giving consent. Easy. 😂
Exactly!
It reminds of of someone in an LP telling a rape joke, and the other guy saying they couldn't leave it in, so the first guy changed the joke to where they gave consent, and then it was ok. :D
Big brain moment
They'd try to argue the consent was given under duress or something lmao.
I talked to a character on CAI and asked for consent when someone tried to say that the character needed to give consent. It gave me consent to draw nsfw 👍
Cheated the system, props to you
"Teenage-Coded 20 Year Old"? It's the damned Uzaki-Chan BS all over again. lol
I love how they did the skirt thing in Nier Replicant: Kaine straight up murders the cameraman if you test your luck 10 times 😂
Never heard of anime fans doing it to real women either. It's like these people pull this shit out of their ass.
Does the Abyss stare right back at you?
That "game dev" said it all we needed to know, the male gaze. They think only males want to up skirts, when it's not. I'm with you, I didn't ask for it; yet if it is included in the game, then it is the games dev to put it in.
This reminds me of that article that said you should ask a baby for consent before changing it's diaper. Yes...this actually exists. What do you want to bet these people don't even have kids of their own?
Next is "not being violent in games is a win"
Undertale gives you that option
Meanwhile, they would've gone after drugs instead of video games. Drug is our mortal enemy (Especially if you're mental ill)
@@andytaker3073 key word, option
@@andytaker3073 So what? It also gives you the option to murder literally everything and erase the whole fucking timeline killing everyone who got away from your knife
Well Postal 2 give that option but it is boring as hell so I rather start blasting
Hollywood is now starting to learn that catering their shows/movies to a loud but mostly broke audience is not a viable business model.
Let's see how well it goes for game developers..
Person gets mad about 2B. Yoko Taro likes his characters because they are cute and he publicly said so. He even answered a question of 2B being capable of reproducing. Also, I like how no one mentions Kaine because she is pretty much running around in underwear, next to a kid before he grows up, and she also has the "up-skirt" achievement at the cost of loading to your last save point, if you saved.
If fictional characters needed concent, then I pray to those that's a fan of Overwatch.
Yeah those people would have a long list of charges
hell literally any doujin of a fate character or just popular series in general
Sweet mother of god, forget nuremberg. we have a real trial here hahaha
Well, you certainly aren't getting proper consent from Blizzard's staff, that's for sure...
