My 4 year old son and I watch this video frequently before bed to help him calm down. It's seriously his favorite video. I bought him this book for Christmas on Amazon and was overjoyed to see that it is an older, used copy that looks just like yours. Anyhow, we were reading it tonight and he says to me, "Read it softly like she does." He was fast asleep in 5 minutes. ❤
Adult humans need more whimsy and make believe in their lives. Somehow we lose the ability to just blow off tension and stress, which increases our susceptibility to illness. Having a physician as an author of this book means it is just what the doctor ordered.
I am the daughter of a Navy officer. My books are my "home". My Haven from the world. I have had to move a lot, and leaving my books behind is crushing. That Gnomes book is your home.

I've always had this book around since my childhood. I still have a copy as an adult for a coffee table book. So great!
Oh my gosh this was MY favorite book as a child, I was obsessed with it. I had some garden gnomes and gnome toys as a result. 😂 I thought I was a strange child. The interior of the house, all warm and wooden really is nostalgic for me, I must have spent a lot of time on that page. 😍
So THAT is where that book went! I was looking for it!!!!!

Now I want a gnome, but my dog would eat it.......even if it was magical, he would eat it. It's why we can never have any nice woodland creatures.
This is one of my favorite asmrs. I listen to it most nights to help me fall asleep. Usually by the time you talk about they run I’m out.
Your video is three years old now, but I have to say, I still to this day love the Gnomes book. My dad must have bought it when I was a baby. He still has it to this day. I have to make sure I get it before my brother does... ;) PS - of course I have gnomes hidden around my outside gardens because of the influence of the book on me.
I inherited this same book from my great grandmother back in the early-mid 80's and I still have it on my bookshelf 30 years later. I still leaf through it every so often.
Love this video. Coming from the Netherlands I grew up on the Kabouter (Gnomes) books and the cartoons of David de Kabouter (David the Gnome) on TV. Thank you for sharing. Oh, if you are ever in The Netherlands a.visit to the Rien Poortvliet Museum is a must.

This is one of my favorite books! I've loved it since I was a child. My mother bought a copy of the book in the late 70s, and I always read it growing up. I also have another book they did, "The Book of the Sandman and the Alphabet of Sleep". They are such wonderful books with so much creativity and detail put into them.
I love that book! I grew up with that book too! My dad gave it to me when I was quite young too so I had the same experience of loving the pictures and then as I got older loving the words.

I used to be so intrigued by this book as a child. There's a naked gnome in there & that was VERY intriguing to my mind as a child. I didn't want anyone to know I was curious, but I was.

i had a GNOME chilfhood! i have numerous editions of this, my favorite book of all times! when i was 5 i received a gnome doll that was as yall as me. it was sort of a pillow but he was my best childhood friend! i had a GNOME childhood! thanks for your video!

Thanks madam repose. Wot a fabulous book. Inspired me to populate my gardens with gnomes (here and there). Had a similar book as a child that exemplified the notion of a night time party for fairy folk but long gone.
I think you already know this, but “Linda” in Portuguese means “pretty”. There’s no other name that could describe you better than Linda.

We had this book and its sequel at home, too. I love these books so much, however, I prefer the sequel. My grandma used to read it to me when she came to visit us and when I was too young to read it myself, I would just flip through the pages and look at the illustrations. They are so beautiful and fascinating.
My boyfriend and I both had this book as a child and recently bought it and read through it together, it was lovely! Great video as always, thank you!!

Wow this reminds me of the show I grew up with in the 80's. David The Gnome. A lot of the illustrations even look like they were used in the show.
I don't know if you'll see this 4 years later, but I loved this video and I just found a mint condition of Gnomes at my local thrift store. It's a BEAUTIFUL book.

So had this book bought for Christmas by my best friend. 💖We both loved this book when you showed it! I was really surprised that it was so big and how wonderful the pictures were. I got the Deluxe Collectors Edition which included some A4 posters and the sketches of the beautiful art from Rien Poortvliet. It's such an amazing book. Happy Christmas hon 🎄🎅🏻🤶🏻 xxx

Excellent video! I am a librarian, so this has become one of my favorite asmr videos! I have fond memories of gnomes from my childhood. i.e. The Gnome Mobile movie from Disney, and the gnome cartoon popular on Nickelodeon in the late 80s, early 90s. Please do another video like this! :)

I was so excited when I saw this video because 1) I really enjoy your videos and 2) my grandma kept this book at her house when I was growing up, and it was always my favorite! I definitely struggled to figure out whether it was true or not :) Lovely video!

My sister is obsessed with gnomes, and she's currently trying to have a baby. This would be a great book to give her! I hadn't heard of it until I saw this video.
Oooh love it! I'm Dutch and Rien Poortvliet is a famous Dutch artist. I love his drawings. There so magical. My big sister had this book. And when I was little I had sleepovers at her home. She read to me from this book before I went to sleep. There is also a cartoon series from this book named David de boskabouter. (David the woods gnoom) So lovely. I grew up with this. Oh the sweet memory's. I had all sorts of gnome toys from this book en TV series.

I have that book in my shelves since my mom bought it to me when I was around 10 or so. Amused to see the cover. Mine however has suffered the pass of time a bit more harshly.

I skipped shool to go to the town library and I read and looked at this book It captivated me, what an amazing book, also check out Spacecraft 2000-2100, same level of great illustrations and writing.

This was great, I read this book to as a kid, it's a classic! Also watched the TV show David the Gnome based off the book series.

This is so magical!! What a fascinating idea for ASMR! I loved being read to as a child and this reminded me of how I fell in love with books and reading.
