Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on TH-cam, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on TH-cam. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on TH-cam, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.

Geoff Downes was with The Buggles "Video Killed The Radio Star" Steve Howe from YES, Carl Palmer from ELP AND John Wetton from the Band U.K.
Looks as though Greg Lake from ELP has stepped into John Wettons spot.
Geoff Downes also played for YES on The Drama Album.

ASIA in ASIA! We used to rent this and the giant, top-loading VCR along with it! ❤ Wetton is truly missed on this, though, and terribly missed today. 😢

I remember popping this tape in and listening to this album while studying in nursing school. Asia and Toto got me through and this song brings it all back. Great job Shawn! Thank you whoever requested!

Budokan is a great concert venue. I wasn't there in '83 to see Asia but they did tours all over the US. I truly regret not seeing them when I had several opportunities; especially Steve Howe and Greg Lake. However, I did see Pink Floyd at Budokan in Mar 1988 on their Momentary Lapse of Reason album tour... they used the same stage set up as Pulse. Still, by far, the best concert I ever saw. $50 for a ticket was expensive back then (I usually paid anywhere from $12.75 to $20 at the most). BTW, the Japanese audience was the most subdued crowd ever! My boyfriend and I were standing up, cheering, singing, we were a spectacle, I'm sure. By the end of the concert, many sitting around us were also on their feet cheering and singing. I guess they saw us doing it and decided to join in. *For me, Rush comes in 2nd place as I saw them on their Moving Pictures album tour (Nashville, TN) when the band members were at their finest. This Asia concert rocks...thanks for sharing!

This wasn't their usual singer. Lake filled in for their usual singer. Saw this originally live on the telecast as it happened, live for my 30th BDay. Definitely the highlight of that year, a free concert from some of my favs . I've seen ELP 3x but never got the chance to see Yes, this is as close as it came.

The Asia debut album was the biggest selling album of 1982 and the band was a huge success. However, other than a couple of popular songs off their next album, the band never really took off after their initial success, due to them all being Alphas and their personalities not ever gelling. Their first album, tho, is great, especially this song, along with "Only Time Will Tell," which is fantastic, their biggest hit "Heat of the Moment" and "Wildest Dreams," and I think you will enjoy them as much as "S.S."
BTW, I watched this concert live and it was great! ❤✌

@@garyarnett1220 yes, it was. I remember being a bit disappointed when I learned John Wetton had been replaced with Greg Lake, but Greg was great in the role.

It makes sense once you said the person requesting this live version was a fan of Emerson, Lake, and Palmer; as the band had a falling out before this concert, and original lead, John Wetton left and Greg Lake took over for the remainder of the tour.
I'm a fan of John Wetton; I even own some of his solo albums. Most songs were written by Wetton and keyboardist Geoff Downs. After we've everyone else left; Downs continued making music under the Asia name.
We lost John in 2017 to cancer at age 67

I liked it here live better than on the album. But the guitar solo - with all my love for Steve Howe - didn't exactly blow me away.

I actually saw Asia on the North American leg of this tour, prior to Wetton's short departure (he was back for the 2nd album). So I saw the original line-up of the band. They sounded incredible. And the day before the concert, they did an autograph session at Licorice Pizza in Santa Monica, CA. I was able to get my copy of their first album signed (inner sleeve, next to their pictures), and shook hands with each. While I do like Greg Lake, and think he is a terrific musician, I have to say that I prefer John Wetton's vocals on Asia's material. (R.I.P. John Wetton and Greg Lake)

Greg had to learn all the vocals and licks on a matter of a couple of weeks. Which is not an easy thing to do, especially in those days when music was much more dynamic and just all around better. I was truly hoping to see John wetton live with these guys, but having Greg fill in Was an absolute treat. Greg was the perfect replacement. A great all-around show. Those first two albums were magical.
