Thinking about getting a 1.9 TDI 2008 Golf this weekend on 69,000 miles. It has really clean MOT history with children seats fitted in the back all its life. Any reccomendations? Always scary buying a 17 year old Golf

Here I Australia we have a mobile mechanic service that can come to us and do a thorough inspection of the vehicle to make sure it is roadworthy and I am sure there are mechanics over there in the UK that can do this. It does cost s little bit but you do get a full report about the car. This is probably worth doing so you know if anything needs fixing and you can ask the selling to get these things fixed or you can negotiate on the price.
