Love the comment about getting up, dressed, make-up, etc is spot on. I workfromhome Every. Single. Day. I do the same thing and am much more productive. Enjoy your channel. I've been in Healthcare for 27 years so your content is so relatable. Keep it up.

Christy, this intro made me cry. Today has been a dark day. Actually, this whole week has been rough, but this was a great reminder (again) that it won't always be this hard! Thank you!
Your voice overs are amazing! And, I really do not want you to feel guilty about applying for disability! There are people who apply for disability for stupid shit and get it. You deserve it, my friend! You worked hard for many years as a medic and sacrificed so much AND you're dealing with implications from a serious injury. The fact that you were denied the first time is utterly ridiculous to me. I'm glad you brought up the fact that you have to rest your neck after an hour or two. When I asked for a DITL, I wanted to see how your injuries have affected your daily life and also just what a day looks like for you for fun. Before my surgery, I used to have to lay down every couple of hours. It was super frustrating, so I understand your frustration.

After all my 42 chemo treatments I can only stay upright short times. I literally have to lay down. If not I am down the next day. Like I slept all day after Christmas

I know it’s not the same, but after my stroke(pontine, husband didn’t call 911, can live alone) I had to learn to schedule naps(rest) into my day. It was very humbling. Anyway, after that making changes was much easier when I kept my top 1-2 goals in mind. Love your bird😁

Christy, I have to tell you that you're doing an excellent job at your d.i.t.l.! I really appreciate your content because I'm a medically retired RN and on permanent disability for 12 years now. I almost feel like I'm getting worse after so long on this and trying to find the interest in anything. I have permanent back problems and Fibromyalgia for a couple examples. I'm going to keep trying to find my daily why, so I can start doing for myself also to feel better. Thanks for your channel and all the hard work you put into it. You and Lee are so fortunate to have each other ❤

I get it with the frustrating feelings. I had the muscles in my back ripped away from my spine. People dont see the issue but i can only stand for maybe an hour and i am in severe pain for the rest of the day. If i fall, get hit in my back its back in the wheelchair for me. I fought for a year to get out of it. I love the pumpkins.

Christy, look how far you've come! 🙂 If you're thinkin about applying for Social Security, the best one to apply for is: S.S.D.I, not S.S.I. according to my cousin whose son is on S.S.D.I (he has a T.B.I. because he was hit by a car several years ago) he gets more money and a person can work as many hours as they want and not be penalized, where you will be, if you're on S.S.I. Thought you might like to know that. BTW I like the music in the background.

@@littletraumamamayears ago, with much less disability than you, I went thru the process. There are precious few who get it on the first try, but a friend who had a stroke did, perhaps because he had diabetes also, and needed almost full time assistance. I had to have a one to one meeting with a lawyer/judge after the first rejection and was extremely lucky that he considered my answer to “why can’t you do computer programming anymore?” acceptable . I wasn’t coached, just annoyed, and said “if you understand programming so well, you know that it requires intense thinking. I can’t think when my pain level (from back) rises. I also can’t sit for longer than about 20 minutes.”
After being on ssdi for a while, and doing part time consulting, I lost ssdi and reverted to the Ltd of my former employer ( again, EXTREMELY lucky to have it). Eventually, they provided a lawyer to take me thru the appeal process. I won but not without having to appear in open court and listen to the judge categorize me as being in “early old age” ( I was at most 50). I wanted to loudly protest, but my lawyer told me to shut up! It was a humiliating process from start to finish, and this was in the late 80s-90s. Now it’s even harder to win ssdi rulings, so stay strong. It will test your patience.

I soak them in acetone with coconut oil in a ziplock bag. Then I seal the ziplock bag around my wrist and set my hand in a bowl of hot water. Takes about 10-15 min.

I wouldn't have a clue how to do the editing and was very interested in your process. Just think of how much you have learned to do in only a year. Very impressive.
