Im one of those, and tbh it's because of a single bad experience that makes us that way, the best way I can explain it is this: imagine swimming in a very nice lake, super chill, the water feels great and the sun feels perfect, but the happiness you feel from the water makes you wanna dive deeper and explore, but you suddenly get stuck on something and losing your breath, you try your best to get to the surface and when you do you get out of the lake immediately, punishing yourself for wanting to do more when you were perfectly fine chillin on the surface. Next time you're chillin on a lake you might see how beautiful it looks and feel like you want to dive in but in the back of your head you're thinking "something's gonna go wrong again if I do" so you rather stay on the surface. With all that being said sometimes there's someone who is just too good to be afraid of something going wrong
