    The supplies you use. Do they make the Saber itself durable enough for intense dueling? If you've already said that in the video, I might've missed it.

    • @EccentricArtisan
      @EccentricArtisan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. Yes they do! Especially in combination with how I build my blades specifically for dueling. I have a video on that process as well. The one thing that is sometimes experienced with removable batteries is the saber shutting off or restarting upon heavy contact. That can usually be solved by reinforcing or shimming the contacts closer together if it becomes an issue.

    You have piqued my interest enough to join the Facebook group and finally start my journey at finding a hilt to install. Keep up the good work. I've watched tons of videos on the subject and never thought I could sabersmith, but your explanations and clarity make me feel like if I'm careful, plan, and triple check everything after cleaning all my flux off with a bottle and a half of alcohol, lol 😂. I should have a working lightsaber put together by me. Now to find a hilt.

      I’m glad they have been helpful! It’s definitely a patient person’s game, especially when you first start. Best rule of thumb is to never do it when you are tired, frustrated, or burnt out. Breaks and breathers are sooo important. I hope we’ll be seeing your progress posts in the group once you have selected components!

    do you do commission work? I recently just got this exact saber and want to install it but I have never done anything like this before.

    • @EccentricArtisan
      @EccentricArtisan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I appreciate the interest, but I’m not currently taking commissions. If you want to try it yourself, I recommend joining the group linked in the description to learn and ask questions. But if you want someone to install it, ask within the group called Universal Lightsaber Community on Facebook to find who is currently taking on commissions. Make sure to get group input and see previous work, so you pick someone who does good work.

      It’s called isopropyl alcohol. Can usually be found in the pharmacy section or at a drug store or can be ordered online. Any kind should work fine.

    • @EccentricArtisan
      @EccentricArtisan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I implemented code that was already written for the most part. But CFX is quite different than proffie in that regard. If you go to the manuals section on the Plecter Labs website you’ll be able to find the latest CFX manual and read about how to setup effects for that board. I have never used one myself, so I don’t personally know any more about it. I’ll put the link here though. www.plecterlabs.com/shop/

    Btw...Flux is not conductive

    • @EccentricArtisan
      @EccentricArtisan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Surprising as it may sound, flux is conductive. However, it doesn’t allow large amounts of current flow, but generally very small to moderate leaks that can cause temporary malfunction or potentially ruin components. I’ve had several personal experiences with it that I’ve been able to detect through process of elimination and use of a multimeter, but don’t take my word for it. If you do a bit of google searching, you’ll find plenty of pages talking about it.
