The way I see it is that she only allowed people to see what she wanted them to see, she was very restrained so if you think about it, why would they show this? she didn't wanted to be seen as vulnerable so it makes sense that it came out this way

i wish they'd shown this on skins because I think it perfectly shows what's inside effy's mind which really allows us to sympathies with her. because usually they just show her as this mysterious crazy girl which doesn't give room for true relatability but when she's crying in this it feels real and makes you feel more connected to her character

Maks me wonder if something happened. She seemed to recognise that man who tried to rape Katie, I always found that weird and wondered if there were a trauma like that in her childhood. I remember her saying that her parents didn't pay enough attention to her and that her mum missed things that happened that Effy wish she knew about. I'm just wondering because it seems she went mute one day, perhaps from a trauma.

That they never get to show some things we would like to see is one of the great things in skins. I mean, we all would like to know more but, thats just how life works. The writers never did anything only to impress the viewers, but to make art, and they did it. They wanted to recreate on a series the life of teenagers in Bristol, but behind that, theres a great story, some great thoughts abt life. Freddie died, but we never get their reactions just because it wasn't necessary and everyone moved on because thats just how life works. Skins is art, its amazes me. Sorry for my English, im from Spain and i know that no one is going to read this comment, i just hope at least one person does.

It is true but I don't think freddie deserved that he helped her when noone did and I think it's not fair considering freddie would have rather died than not be with her and she just walked away like it's fine.

+kaya huizenga i think 1 & 2 were better. Everything seems to add up which makes it feel realistic, while in second gen everything is so arbitrary, which kind of pulles you out of the story.

I think gen 1 was the best out of them all, but Season 3 and 4 really developed the characters more and it actually did feel like I was part of gen 2, not just watching.

whoever chose what did/didn't get aired did effy so dirty... there's so much info abt her in stuff that didn't get aired that gets you WAY further invested. she's an incredibly interesting character, wish they'd given us more insight.
I think a role in Skins was Kaya's best creation. What an amazing acting

RinSere I feel like Skins 7 was to get closure, yeah, but in a different way. I actually liked that Effy wasn't hung up on it. I mean, I'm sure her character thinks about it every now and then, but it's 4 (I think?) years after the events of season 4, and I actually really liked the direction they took it in. Got to see all these teenagers growing up and moving on with life, which is a really, really big part of actual life. Almost glad they didn't mention Freddie to be honest, like how they barely mentioned Sid and eating disorders in Cassie's episode. I'm guessing you're right though; everyone eventually knew what happened it it was probably a huge thing, especially for Effy's recovery. Rather sad, but also rather beautiful. And EXTREMELY skins.
Effy & Freddie's love story was a gateway of another world.

I see so many comments saying that this should have been broadcasted. It WAS Broadcasted. This was on E4,s website while the series was being aired. It was called “Unseen Skins”. Gen 1 had them aswell. It was like the “Lost’s Lost” videos.
What made skins so unique and real was not only the series but all the content made around the series. Their fictional profiles from either myspace, twitter… (gen 3 even had interactions between them on twitter) these small pill-type videos… It just wasn’t promoted well and you’d be lucky if you found it. These clips really helped you get an insight on the characters. Such a shame they didn’t just showed them in between episodes or tried to push them a bit more.

@@german1104 it started with Gen 2. E4 set fake profiles (picture like an in depth instagram bio) for each character with their names, school, favorite music, a quote/motto they liked or lived by…
With gen3 they went all out and set fake twitter accounts for each character and they would tweet, the characters would “interact” with one another (posting party pics, arguing…) and even reply to people every week, when a new episode aired. It was so innovative and fresh, but it died down quickly. I don’t have an x account now but I think they might still be up. I think Mini’s was thatskinny_b or something like that 😅
