I guess the reason why so many people are drawn to this channel is the fact that Anna and Philipp are not creating an image but are genuine people who laugh, drink, argue, work hard and are incredibly funny. It's like spending an evening with friends you will sorely miss as soon as you sit in your car on your way home.
I wish i had friends like them. One reason why i also enjoy their channel.
True - I also love how they hire French locals to do the work needed and speak French all the time to the locals they hire. Sometimes I watch other chateau shows and hear only English people hired and little or no French. I wonder if there is a lot of Brits living and working in France - even after BREXIT. I watch because I want to participate in a French experience virtually that I will never be able to do in real life. I get that with this channel and the lovely authentic hosts Anna and Philipp are. Thank you for that.

I think the reason you two have so many prescribers is because of who you are, your humour and your obvious friendship plus all the work and Anna’s style.
Philip I lived in scicily up in the mountains it was hotter than hot but the winters were just freezing but my mother in laws cooking was just magical as you know everything we ate was just o so fresh

Parents with young families are perpetually tired, at least that was the case with me. But trust me when I say that someday you will look back and realize that it was the best time of your life. Arlette, that is so true. Raising children is tiring from lack of a good night's sleep. But I wouldn't trade it. Training children to be responsible adults is a rewarding job. Now grandchildren are fun but there is not that accomplishment you have with your own children... Dawn

I agree that the kids are not used as “content”. I passed by 2 bloggers and the mother said she was going to take her 9 year old daughter out of school full time so she could help with the new baby and to be available as “content”. Disgusting using kids this way. Anyway, it’s clear you would never use your kids like that.

'How to Renovate a Chateau "has a charm of it's own not the least of these Philip's extraordinary do it yourself skills producing high class professional down to earth results. Anna and her beautiful designs and managing her family as well. As well as Philip seems to be able to choose really skilled tradesmen and has a nice camaraderie with them. As well as his photography skills putting a lot of work into that side as well. ok that's enough I could go on and on.
For me, I am drawn to Philipp's sense of humor, I could swear he could do stand up comedy! LOL And of course Anna's decor!

What is refreshing is hearing vloggers honestly admit that they are real people who do miss aspects of their past lives, they get bored with some projects and don’t always agree. Unrelentingly projecting that everything is always wonderful is not real or authentic. Renovation should be shown warts and all.

Downstairs bathroom hand-painted garden scenes. Paint the adjacent water-closet, (toilet room,) the same garden, but in wintertime with lots of snowy white, ice, bare branches, and winter birds in trees.

Outstanding job as always! We were guests here in Iowa at beautiful B and B for several years, the McNeil Stone Mansion…I spent hours going through their renovation pictures and now , although from the east coast, we fell in love with Iowa and the people here and ended up buying a lovely home right next door.

I would have guessed nine years. My sister and her husband have nine years difference in their ages and they have a wonderful marriage. You shouldn't be embarrassed. You look to have a wonderful relationship, a mutual love and respect for each other and you share values that you are passing on to your children. That is what's important, not your age difference. The age difference may be what makes it work.
