I think the reason I find Steinman so fascinating is that even after he goes batshit insane, you can still understand the way he thinks and how he reached these extreme ideals.
I think it was supposed to be somewhat ambiguous, too, if it were really ADAM driving him or insane, or if humanity really would go crazy with such infinite power over their own bodies in just this way.

The gradual descend into madness is what makes Dr. Steinman a complete insane character. The epitome of a mad doctor! I'm pretty sure he's what got me afraid of doctors too, lol.
BioShock seriously included some of the best voice acting I've ever heard, anywhere. Especially Dr. Steinman and Sander Cohen made quite an impression on me. I just love listening to Steinman's audio diaries, his voice is just so incredibly pleasing and suave!
I always thought when he talked about hearing Aphrodite, I assumed it was just him being crazy due to Plasmids. But according to the prequel novel, he's basically doing cocaine when he "has lunch with the Goddess".

As the first insane villain I encountered in the game, he's become one of my favorite mid-boss villains. So simply insane, and he slowly and slowly became one as you found his audio diaries. He finds to be so gracious while so insane at the same time.
Steinman has a point. In modern times where people are trying to change their sex, facial characters, and body shape. How long before people start changing their race or even their brains? Is this the future we want to create: where everyone tries to be something else because they didn't like what they were?
