For me I love literary fiction so it doesn’t bug me BUT I totally get that frustration if something is marked as romance and that’s not the main plot point/points of the book

i felt the same for brothers hawarthone! i def enjoyed jameson's povs more cause for me jameson is superior but grayson deserves justice I swear he never gets his happy ending.. but the story wasn't heading anywhere at all.

I was also very disappointed by The Brothers Hawthorne although I enjoyed Grayson’s pov much more than Jameson’s. Jameson’s storyline was so boring to me. His and Avery’s scenes were also lacking imo :/
I have doubts now on reading that thick book and just waste my time and be disappointed 😩. I also have high expectation in Sloane and Lucian. I anticipated their story so much. I’m scared now hahahah
personal opinion i actually liked graysons pov more! i loved jameson so much in the original series but his pov of avery it seemed purely physical which extremely disappointed me! grayson did have a huge comeback in in eyes though!

Things we left behind was my favorite book in the trilogy and I hadn’t expected to like it that much. I don’t really get the issue with the subplot and other characters, like that’s exactly how things we never got over and things we hide from the light were. Knox and Naomi were mentioned plenty in things we hide from the light, and the subplot was prevalent in all 3 books, it was more so in this one because Lina and Lucian both work for the same company to fix everything with the subplot and to finish up the subplot. Yeah I would’ve liked more romance with Lucian and sloane but I think it was the best of the 3 because of the subplot and the flashbacks and everything that happened. I understand not liking slow burn or subplots or Lucy scores writing, but everyone who likes the other 2 but not this one I don’t understand. They’re all the same book just with small differences, so 🤷🏻♀️
what des said about being rude vs being closed off is how i felt with knox esp with his old ass age thats why im hesitant to read the rest of the series

I partly agree with you on the things we left behind, but I do feel like you were a little harsh, everybody was so happy to see the other couples in the first two books but now its a critique point? Nahh. BUT you are totally right about the two sub plots, it was too much, not enough romance and not enough details about Lucien and Sloane. I feel like if the sub plots were shorter (like not from beginning of the book to the end, or the amount of scenes about the sub plot less) the book could've easily been my favourite
