I hope this wonderful video will help people find and value him accordingly: I think he is one of the most underrated players, at least internationally. This man was one of the greatest strikers ever, scoring >500 competitive goals, but he also worked hard for his team everywhere on the pitch. I think he lacks the attention he deserves because not only did he fail to win a Champions League or a World Cup (despite coming close), but also because he avoided fame and money - he lived a modest life in humility and always stayed faithful to his club and his hometown, even if it meant working three jobs (professional football was illegal in Germany back then) despite big clubs wanting to sign him and offering huge sums. His most important legacy is that of a true icon of fairness, faithfulness, and modesty. He was named "Uns Uwe" (Our Uwe) because he always stayed down to earth and was there for everybody. Today, sports are different, and the athletes are more distant from the people. There will never be another player like Seeler because his playing style has died out and because he was uniquely gifted, and there will never be another person like him off the pitch. He stood for everything people love about football. A sad day for football, although many fans across the world do not even know his name. There is a reason why Beckenbauer and Müller (and many others) considered him their ultimate role model. May he rest in peace, and may we not forget him and what he stood for. German football and media is mourning, and rightfully so. I am glad this video exists, it cements his legacy. Thank you!
I saw that game at the time and at first thought it might have been a handball by the English player, it was so strange. It's like he had eyes in the back of his head.
He had the ability, to just score a goal whenever he wanted to do so. It is incredible to see how he made goals out of very bad or hopeless situations, he just always found the net.
Uwe was less about pace, more about all around knowledge of the game and his simple ability to core howevr he wants out of every position. Very hard to compare players from such differant eras
Seeler had a very good speed, too, although not that of Timo Werner. The biggest difference is in heading. Uwe was almost a dwarf, his height was only 168 cm. But his heading was incomparable. He could jump like a rabbit.
Who can forget the back header vs England 1974 World Cup in Mexico. Gives me the chills. He's done it before. It was deliberate. I always get emotional watching his goals for Hamburg SV. Tremendous player. Even watching him warm up

Ever heard of Jupp Heynckes or Karl- Heinz Rummenigge or Klaus Fischer - all of them were better than Klinsmann and i love Jürgen since he had his break at my favourite club.

I remember as a young lad attending his farewell game in the German National squad against Hungary in Nuremberg.
