Really need more energy generation under those Shields, just to slow the storm and feed your turrets. It'll stop and waste time trying to break shields while you get resources. Another thought is to spread out happiness and housing more to ensure you get a wider variety, rather than panic building grids. Set up a standard production process. Turrets clearly change the game but to get critical mass to steal 1000+ health a single turret is clearly meaningless and a waste of energy when Shields slow the storm and prevent it's movement. Batteries look essential. Because 12 energy per hit is a lot when we can only store 100. Consider how many resources and buildings we need to build 12 energy per second.
Heya, YYZ here (developer of Stormbridge and Havendock), wanted to say big thanks for playing my demo! Really cool to see you play it and actually you did really really well for your first run! The game is hard at the beginning but you will unlock lots of upgrades, eventually starting with pre-built buildings and boosts like starting resources to help make each run easier. There's even upgradable pets that give passive bonuses when equipped! Nonetheless I am actively developing the game and will finetune the game based on feedback so anyone who has tried the game, do feel free to let me know your thoughts! Also good point on the hard hat haha, I am actively developing the game and push out new updates every week so I will look into adding a hard hat accessory in a subsequent update!
@@aulvinduergard9952 Each map in the game unlocks a unique new mechanic when played - one of the later maps will unlock the ability to repair destroyed buildings. However there are also abilities you get later on that can push the storm backward a certain distance. Lastly, you can also start with more "starter buildings", making a starting point an already built bridge of certain length, effectively giving you a headstart.
15:57 This creates a loop. If the happiness is 69%, that is nice and it will increase the happiness. But when it increases, it's not 69 anymore. That would decrease it back to 69%.
If you think about it, a rigid Top Hat would be pretty safe, with that large crumple zone on top to absorb impact. Glad to see Matt still taking safety seriously.
I don't know if it's just RCE being RCE, but the game seems unbalanced imo. Even from the first storm you lose way too much that it seems like it's nearly impossible to properly progress. Maybe it gets better after more runs, but it doesn't look too fun imo.
It's a roguelike game, so it starts out really unbalanced. As you lose you gain experience points that you use to buy permanent upgrades that make your next attempts a little easier. After the first run you also unlock easier difficulties.
I thought that too, just because of how far you have to go before you can get defences. It feels like the game wants you to rush to that before you can even do anything. But seeing the tech tree at the end of the video, it definitely looks like you can fix the balance quite easily
Heya, YYZ here (developer of Stormbridge), the game has a tech tree with over 70 research and skills in the full game that allow you to do various things like reduce the storm intensity/duration, etc. There's also different strategies I've seen from players (they've gotten creative with their pet loadout), strategic upgrade and building choices which make subsequent runs easier. The first playthrough will always be the hardest, especially playing without any knowledge but I designed the game to always give rewards even if you lose against the storm, so progression is guaranteed. I also added easy difficulty modes and even a peaceful mode without the storm for those who just want to play at their own pace. The prologue level which was not shown in the video is also a map that has no timer that lets you start to learn the game leisurely. That said I am monitoring the balance and anyone who has played and has feedback for me, please do let me know on Steam forums, discord, or the in-game feedback form! :)
game is very fun and yes, its free (the demo, when it releases its gonna be paid) btw, i have a tip, build 2 eletricity generators to the left and right of a shield, it will survive and then u can use eletricity and build shields for important stuff bc u have the generators safe behind the storm :) u can also move and delete buildings that are to the right of the storm
Considering everthing RCE thinks looks like the strongest shape he should really go see a doctor and see if the issue is his strongest shape is shaped weird or if it's a problem with his eyes or mental.
Am I the only one who is wondering why the settlers all appear to be uniformed teenagers? Is this where I would have gone if my parents sent me to private school?
I’d just like to add for those saying the game looks too hard and maybe to help RCE out a little on his future plays, mass producing wood early and making empty space between buildings often would help tremendously. He has everything in a row, just as simple as putting an empty space in between each building would’ve made a world of difference. Shields can be methodically placed to protect what is producing the electricity first, then other essentials second. Personally I would choose Settlers second, then resource gathering third, etc. Just to ensure you will always have electricity. 😁
Well now Matt said they don't have any hardhats I bet the dev will make the next update be called the architect update 😅 Providing they watch others play their game from time to time😊 Though they might need to make a blueprint mode there you can save pre-designed bridge segments in order to call the update that.

Yes-yes, blame the editors😂
You're going to the shaming wheel
Shame on you
Shame on you
Shame on you
Did the editor also leave out the clip of the bridge review? xD
put em in the basement
With all his employees, he is probably to busy drawing business plans and roadmaps, who else does drawing again? Ar... Something, can't remember
No poptarts this week boys. Matt needs to deflect some heat.
Bridge review : does not resist more than 3 storms, has many dead people on it and is not finished. 2.1/10
Fair score haha
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming do you know thet real civil engineers are wearing white hats? are you fake who didnt know that?

Can you rebuild destroyed parts of the bridge, effectively pushing the starting point of the storm back for the next time?

RCE needs to try Vertical Kingdom - a city builder game where you develop cities by making high spires and bridge-like supports.
I think you had him at bridge

First round is a forced loss, pretty much. Which I personally find a bit iffy usually.

6:27 lmao confidence of the citizens is at an all time high
hello fellow engineers
I'm unemployed
I'm an engineer, making an arse out of myself, like I've done for over a year.
I'm a fellow engineer
Why did the Steve Buscemi meme pop in my head while reading this
Hellow fello engineers.
English is pretty dumb sometimes.
Is that the Spriffing Britt 0:33
Paddy not being the 2nd favorite thing is a crime among bridge lovers
23:23 now people can stop asking for a face reveal

RCE's strongest shape mental issues are a feature, not a bug.
0:08 I would have said: Paddy, Bridges and strong shapes...
The British voice and the Top hat gave me instant TotalBiscuit flashbacks
You should try and play Against the Storm. Its a roguelike citybuilder thats hella addicting and unique
havendock was quite a cool game
I thought he was going to say good engineering (you know)
Can you make a second video on this game
The 3 big thing is pady Bridges the strongest shap
I don't think this is really a roguelike... but oh well. Looks fun anyways.
A Engineer with a Tophat? Looks more like an Archineer.
The spiffing engineer
Ok that was really cool but dang the storm is violent at the start.
I hope we’ll get at least a second episode of this game, with better preparation !
Flip that stylized S in "Storm" and you got a pretty strong shape
Next map for the timberborn a city build ontop of a bridge. Not sure beaver will like it but could be an interesting concept.
It's not a bad idea, but I'm affraid that progression-wise it would have a lot in common with the Shaft.
Bridges, Beavers & Balls - Matt’s three favorite things and the name of Matt’s law firm
you should always focus on eco first, build up what you need for the next storm. Then you can build it up and be the speedy after every storm.
i expect to see a long series on this game!!!
I would love to see more of this

OMG MATT!! THIS IS YOUR GAME; A GAME MADE FOR YOU !!!! HOW MANY BRIGED REVIEWS AND BLIF YOU CAN MAKE !!!!
this sounds like the perfect game...
Downloading the demo right this moment! Looks like loads of fun!
You should have run from the storm at full speed, and ran all the way to the end without making anything, so then you have endgame items at the start
0. PADDY
1. Bridges
2. Rogue-likes
3. Strongest shape

I thought it was turned based or timed, until the storm hit and Matt just started to rush
So what would you rate this bridge?
When was an “S” a storm?
I think that building sound effect is the same one from Satisfactory
Paddy got disrespected right at the start, what an architect
There was no hard hat but this hat goes hard
Another thing Matt loves is rerolling.
I cannot believe Patty isn't top 3
This game seems like it was crafted to lure you specifically
You made the Spiffing Brit.
he plays this so chaotically....
You forgot paddy in your favorite things 😮
RCE makes his character a stereotypical Brit... nice
Booshing that like button in the hopes the dev adds a hard hat.
Seems like you need to do way more just bridge and bunch up buildings far apart just to stay far ahead of the storm
Great video, I hope to see this one again
The RCEs sprite looks like The Spiffing Brits illegitimate cousin.
i was sure he would say dogs or paddy for one of the 3 things
We want more storage huntaaaa
I would have said bridges patty and the strongest shape
Nah, top 3:
Bridges
Pat
Pat as a plushie
Cosplaying as the Spiffing Brit 😂
Love the content RCE!
