Good work for contractors, engineers and quarries. I'd be stressed living next to the shore, wondering if the next storm will eat my home or cause hundreds to thousands in damage. Cant imagine any sane person would buy a home there.
This type of defence only stops the slippage of land into the water but what about reclaiming some of what have been taken by the water and a second line of defence to help reclaim the beaches like Groynes and small island reef to absorb and reduce the energy of the waves , in bad weather these would be of great help.
All these boulders can not stop the liquification of sand from under the beach. To stop this would require pylons driven down to rock below. This would require structure similar to bridge pylons. But who would pay that bill?.
La colocación de piedras, muros o cualquier otra forma para evitar el paso del mar es tan sólo infructuoso y más bien tienen que demoler por peligroso vivir en la orilla y ser extremo.

Yes I noticed that…right near the waterfront as well! Surely it would be really difficult or even impossible to get insurance? In the U.K. in high risk flood areas that is the case.
People buy and build exquisite structures right on the water of an inland sea yet never bother to look at even the recorded historical data, let alone the prior levels as inferred or established by Geologists and other scientists. I bet many now expect the state to rush in and correct their error at other people's expense.

I wish they would at least take their garbage with them. All they do is take, take and take ...and when it doesn’t work for them anymore they just move on to the next property and leave their garbage behind.
For sale: waterfront property in your living room ! I have no sympathy for people who build so close to water, on a cliff, big house or cottage. It is in natures course that this happens and if you are stupid enough to build on the edge, well, hello, your going to fall off.
The people on the other side of the street that had to deal with these people building ridiculously huge houses right on the water. Blocking their view. Now they get their view back!
Building huge elaborate villas on a shoreline AND on top of sand screams out " More money than sense "!. Whoever the builder is has to say to himself - there`s one born every minute.
The wise man built his house upon the Rock, The wise man built his house upon the Rock, The wise man built his house upon the Rock, And the rains came tumbling down. The rains came down and the floods came up, The rains came down and the floods came up, The rains came down and the floods came up, But the house on the Rock stood firm. The rains came down and the floods came up, The rains came down and the floods came up, The rains came down and the floods came up, And the house on the sand fell flat. I like on a cliff. It was gouged by a glacier thousands of years ago. Which means at one time there was an arctic type climate here. Now it is warmer and there is no ice. At other times in world history, there was no ice at all on the Earth. So there was climate change making it colder putting ice at the poles. So climate change has been going on for many thousands of years.
If I've watched your videos once ihave watched them many times just so well done and relaxing! Hope to see more from you! Thanks 😁 😊

Good footage, shame about the houses though.
HOPE YOU DO AN UPDATE FLIGHT 👍 THIS FEBRUARY TO SHOW HOW BAD IT IS❗❗❗😠😠😠
I don't suppose the massive additional weight of all the houses helps either
I feel bad for the ones that can't afford to lose their properties. Life savings down the drain

La naturaleza, no necesita dinero para mostrar su poder. ❄🌩🌧
Man! I know those, Real Estate Brokers, was very happy to get those houses off their hands. They knew years that this was going to happen
Is someone actually trying to build a new property there?
Yes I noticed that…right near the waterfront as well! Surely it would be really difficult or even impossible to get insurance? In the U.K. in high risk flood areas that is the case.
Build a dream house on "sand" on a "seashore" and watch what happens to your dream.
😂🤣

Proof Matthew, that you might have a lot of money, but not a lot of brain.

I would feel very uncomfortable there. 😟
IJC INTERNATIONAL JOINT COMMISSION , controls the lake levels .
Biggest Issue - IJC is controlled by the bulk carriers
This shoreline is along Lake Michigan?
Can't wait for the stilts
Where is this?
Lake Michigan coast
Sad for the homeowners. The constant power of waves.
Are people living in the houses? They all look abandoned 😮
You know what would help? Another massive tax break for the rich. They suffer so.
Ryoki Nor 😂👏🏻🇨🇦
So do their taxes go down too?

Giant homes!
Is it true that the US and Canada are keeping the Great Lakes artificially high to study the damage that could be caused by raising sea levels?
Nature vs rich people
The winner is, look this video :-D.
I hope the have lots of insurance!

Yeah, when you build *on the edge of nature* there are no guarantees of the stability of your property.

Thats what i say to.
Arrogance and greed, nature makes you pay.

wow these houses are in some real danger of falling into the lake. check my die dryer die video for your shout out thanks.
Awesome thank you.
desmatamento, construções irregulares, aquecimento global e prejuízos.....muitos.
Oh no, thats just terrible to see their dream homes being destroyed on a slow pace. All that hard work. I really hope the best for them.
Yea, those "poor , palatial , mansion owners" have my sympathy vote as well
This won’t work.
Nature can surely make you pay for arrogance and extravagance.
I find it so amusing that people think they can take charge. Nature rules. This is like trying to stop a tornado.
Nothing you do will help. The ocean will take what belongs to it without questions.
Hahahahaaa!!! It is not fair! Nature is too big and we are too small!
Just as I suspected no climate change happening here
You are correct!
It’s called sometimes this lake is full sometimes it’s empty all through his billion years

Don't build on sand easy really
These are some serious dollar properties. The owners can pony up to fix the shoreline!

This is a lake
I want to see some of them fall into the lake.
