I'd like to thank everyone who gave up on Mobvoi, as I got a used Pro 3 Ultra GPS in perfect condition for less than 70 euros just a couple of days after the update dropped. It's my first smartwatch, coming from a Xiaomi Band 7, and I couldn't be happier.
Nice, yesterday i got brand new for 89GBP, only to realize that i have a buy a new phone, because my old (2022 Samsung) is to shitty to run Wear OS app :X
I’ve come from a honor magic watch 2 (basically the same as the huawei watch 2) and using this watch is the worst watch experience of my life, wear OS sucked and now you can’t even use it with this watch 😂 can’t even get the old watch faces and the lte /4g options have no way to set it up 😅
I swapped out my Pro 3 GPS for a Galaxy watch 4 late last year and I haven't looked back. The battery on mobvoi watches might be very good, but zero updates for years is just completely unacceptable.
I was happy to get the update. Fortunately, i dobt necessarily have the same expectations of updates for smart watches, as i do with my phones. The bigest thing i appreciate with the new update are the more dynamic faces you can use, now.
Upgraded my Pro 3 Ultra a couple of days ago. Never used Google Assistant, so not bothered that its gone. Did lose my Rainbow watch face though - the standard set seems much smaller than it was in Wear OS 2.0. I still like the dual screen concept, so I'll be sticking with this watch until it dies or becomes unusable.
I updated it a few days ago. Since the update, I can only do everything through the mobvoi app and the GoogleWear app no longer connects to the watch. I also can't connect to Google Fit anymore. Is this normal after the update to WearOS3? Or is there a solution for the problem?
If you are still waiting, all you need to do is tap a few times on or above the small watch icon that has a checkmark on the update screen, and you will be prompted to update! 😎

I had 2 of the Ticwatches pro3 and pro 3 Ultra. I gave them away. I won't go back to them unless They promise 5 or 7years of updates and regular ones at that like Google or samsung. I love the concept with the digital screen overlay but the no updating and poor sensors that track not so great set them back unfortunately. Hope they will change that.
I bought my pro3gps shortly before os3 was announced. Assistant on wear os basically never worked in my region, for some reason (minimal developer attention), and the rest of the interface was so glitchy. The update (finally) improved the overall experience. And I'm actually wearing my watch, instead of charging it every couple months to keep it alive, and basically not using it. I would say I miss assistant on my watch but, like I said, it never really worked.
wait, they didn't add google assistant to wear os 3? If not, will they add it? If it's not here, I won't update to wear os 3, because google assistant on watch is a staple for me, and it's why I got the watch..
Not a whole lot has changed? The watch is completely different. It's like a brand new watch. It has a far more polished look and runs much smoother. I'm not sure what update your watch received but mine is fantastic.
Mine is telling that the update is available... I'm trying to figure out if I should update or if it is yet another case of corporate software regression. I've had way too many cases of an update disabling/removing things I actually liked and made some use of ~80 of the time, while adding some random crap I never wanted or asked for and, of course, some sEcUrItY stuff that I have like 0.00001% chance of ever encountering - not really worth losing the things I like. Open-source software typically starts out rough, but at least updates for it will overwhelmingly be stuff that is actually useful and that you'll actually like, without breaking anything you already like.
its worth noting that the ability to sideload via the apps on phone feature ive used in the past, no longer work, and some of the apps (namely under armour map my fitness apps) dont have replacements on the play store
for me the WearOS 3.5 update killed the essential mode sleep tracking and the watch itself felt far less stable on the 3.5 than it did on the older 2.0. but the allure of the low power lcd screen layer made me buy the new pro 5 enduro and so far it has been great. Lets hope that the more traditional single chip design fixes the issues with updates.
Hi, I've just bought TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS yesterday and I'm good with them, as they are. Since I read lot of reviews about Wear OS 3+ for them, it looks like is noticeable downgrade (can't customize second button for example) so I'll stay with Wear OS 2.45 even the Assistent is telling me, that this version of OS will not be supported in the future.
Force the OS 3.5 update If you check for an update and you get nothing but "your watch is upto date". Try tapping on the little watch with the "check" symbol on/in it. It took me about 8+ taps before my watch asked me if I wanted to update.... Your Welcome
Tapping didn't work here, but after restarting the watch, the option to download the update appeared right after going to "Settings > System > About > System Updates". Download was quick, but updating took several minutes.
What's the point of updating to the wearOS3 version if we're already on version 4, in the end the same thing continues with the smartwatch, outdated with an exorbitant price, I think it's a very beautiful watch, the proposal for
Too little, too late. I moved on from Mobvoi specifically because after years of not delivering Wear OS 3 on my Pro 3 Ultra GPS, and as importantly, not providing any guidance as to why or when it would be availabe, I quit using it and refuse to buy any other Mobvoi products. And no Google Assistant just plain sucks.
Do you know how to get persistent notifications with Wear os3.5 on TicWatch pro 3 GPS? (notification stays on the watch screen, over the clock until swiped away)
Factory reset, media control app skip buttons are broken for my main media player (but not my custom skip buttons in my Watchmaker face), second button no longer customizable, and I don't get Assistant back like I thought I would when it said Assistant would stop supporting 2.x. I feel like I'm being punished for everyone else's endless complaining about the late update.
So disappointed with the update: You are getting less, wrist gesture control is gone, hard to silence undesirable notifications. If i knew they will gone i won't update 😭
Yes it is: see you have Build-Number PMRL.220704.001 on that one.(I have the same one: Pro 3 ultra LTE An ist shows that version in settings). It is 1 of 4 Builds that can get the update.
I bought the tic watch pro 3 gps and returned it a week later cause of no updates and no Google assistant so I got the pixel watch 2 instead screw that company
In your smashfest on Mobvoi It would have been nice if you mentioned Google's role in the update delay. Yes, I was frustrated about the delay, but then I heard about Google abandoning WearOS to the manufacturers, something behemoths like Samsung could easily adjust to but smaller players like Mobvoi it was a major complication. I'm enjoying my updated TW3ProGPS especially it's unique secondary display.
When Mobvoi addressed why the update was so incredibly late, the reason they gave was their architecture and the co-processor setup they used. That's what they said, so that's what I said. If I'm painting the situation to make them look bad, then so are they. They went years with zero updates, not just version updates, but updates in general and made almost zero attempt to communicate with their customers. This should not be defended or deflected.
One thing I absolutely cannot stand is when people do the juvenile, sarcastic "so what you're saying is" thing and then just make stuff up no one said to "win" the argument. Truth is, people don't want to actually have a productive conversation, they're usually just mad and letting it out on the internet where there I guess nothing matters. Let's play this game though and say it's Google's fault that they didn't deliver a single update of any kind (this literally cannot be Google's fault) for like 3 years and then failed to properly update their users on the status of literally any update. What then? Do you think anyone will have so much sympathy that they just ignore it or do you think they just moved onto a watch from an OEM that figured it out? There's a reason the big OEMs are big - they get this stuff right more that companies like Mobvoi, companies that have a proven track record of being slow as can be on updates.
