Two suggestions from Destiny of the Daleks: in War of the Daleks, there's a convoluted explanation for how Skaro wasn't destroyed and in (I think) The Lying Witch In The Wardrobe, Romana was apparently locked in the TARDIS while it impersonated her for the episode.

Starting point for faction paradox is gonna be weird to find considering how they literally exist within a single week, and how they just laugh at chronology in general, their existence alone is one skin to what I imagine the could have been king and his army of meanwhiles and neverweres is like.

I have delved into Faction Paradox a bit. I managed to read The Ancestor Cell and have it make some sense. That then leads into the Earthbound arc where the Doctor loses his memory (again lol). I think Alien Bodies, Unnatural History, Interference Books 1 and 2, The Taking of Planet 5 (which is atrocious by the way), Shadows of Avalon, The Ancestor Cell and The Gallifrey Chronicles are the key texts.
Oh and maybe in a future video it might be worth talking about Jason and ‘Dr.Who’, the evil clone of the 7th Doctor created in the Land of Fiction. I’ve read more Virgin New Adventures than any man probably should.
I recall that there was a Brief Encounter short story in DWM, where the Third Doctor went to a cinema, during his exile, and watched the Cushing Dr. Who movies. It was quite a fun scene. Sorry, I can’t remember the issue number.

Head cannon their color blindness Despite being a reference to the fact that they were in black and white in universe , they just simply couldn't tell the difference between white under green , explaining why the constantly changed
DotD is probably the best in the series, but Rose also adds a lot of plot, character background and lore (and basically a far more dramatic final act). The Christmas Invasion and Twice Upon a Time are more traditional Target-style affairs, elaborating on the existing plotlines. I also imagine Dalek will be good when it comes out, purely because it's Rob Shearman's first Who work in bloody ages.
It's a little annoying because I've only ever wanted pop-in pop-out episodic stuff from the books, but a hard to find and expensive reading order is... A lot.

I believe there were some that weren't in colour. Too badly damaged, iirc. They were later restored to proper colour.
