Yeah, I had a black '72 V4 and loved it so much I kept it for 30 years! Brilliant, quirky but great fun to drive.....

Unlike the majority ,I like Mike...he's a real character and honest and true to himself, he's also done very well for himself. He and Ed will have encouraged thousands of people to restore and repair their cars rather than scrapping them..don't knock him

Oh, how I miss Edd China, who really is a mechanic who does uncompromisingly fine job. Edd was the heart of the Wheeler Dealers’ and I really hope he would come back in a way or another.

Have you caught Edd's new you tube show "Garage Revival"? he goes around to individuals, and helps them finish their own projects. Ep1 is running now. it's not too bad, and Brewer's no where around to bother with. Cheers!

Great show! I think that Ant fits excellent as a mechanic! He is both nice and very knowledge. Of course it's little odd before we are use to hi after Ed, but Ant have gone into our hearts, a very nice fellow!

The Saab 96 is great Swedish classic. The V4 Ford engine was superb-great fun to drive !

What put me off Mike was when he went to countries like Mexico, Brazil, India etc seeking favours from people and trying to cut them down on everything - just so he could make a personal profit - it was so cringeworthy and rather disturbing. No wonder Ed pulled out.

  • @Eyreng89

Mike was complaining about the colour on that Saab.. why did they paint the 57 Bel Air yellow, if he think yellow doesn't fit cars?..

  • @raggarbergman

One very hot tip. Take out both the gearbox and engine togheter. Much easier. And I shuld know as I have had mine SAAB 96 V4 -74 ever since before i took my drivers license.

I feel the production is less interresting since it went to the US-company Velocity. A lot of things "just happens" without any info or pics. The Saab 96: Yes, you can adjust gaps between door and wing, but.. the door also has to fit in door aperture. No word about that. I enjoyed the windscreen cutting.
It was a lot of talk about the small Saab-engine, but the origin is actually US, it was a part of the Cardinal-project, a supercompact for US-market. But, it ended up in german Fords instead: Taunus 12/15/17M., and Saab bought it from Ford.
Ant is good, but Edd is better!

Edd is good mechanic, but his bodywork skills were novice, Ant fabricated that rust repair like a pro.

Great car, and I can vouch for that having had at least 10 of them over the years. But what's up with the roof upholstery? I've never ever seen one being even remotely as tattered.

i think this was the worse episode ever made (and one of my favorite cars that came on the show)... The escort had good coverage why didnt this little saab deserve the same treatment? I ( and i think i'm not the only one) dont care at all what the head of the saab enthousiast club thinks of it. I WANT TO SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THE CAR. If not just make a 1 min episode: Here is the car i'm going to buy : "insert walkaround of car". This is the car after "insert mechanic" has done his magic : "insert walkaround after restoration + listing of things that needed replacing" THE END.
